I do think that you're right about the power thing. I've dated a myriad of men, northern, southern, rich, poor...and I will say that the grade is generally equal. Famous people, obviously, are exposed to more temptation. To some degree, PLEASE READ THIS PART, to some degree, we are ALL just "the perfect situation" away from infidelity. LPPT ..great points! It's eady to judge, isn't it? My thinking is not to be surprised when it happens to you. WOMEN are so quick to forget that MEN have needs. I don't necessarily "like" getting up at 6am on Saturday, but that's my child's NEED. It's easy for us to stop the little things and then wonder why our husband's fill that void. Infidelity is a TWO PERSON problem.

It is personal responsibility, but wives have a responsibility too. One that is often ignored or simplified, or often, "excused" because of kids, housework, etc.

It's not good in either direction. But, a shower, make up and a cute outfit go a long way. Wearing something sexy every now and again can do as much for a woman as for their man. I think that women underestimate the reason for a man's affair. It's emotional a lot more often than you think. Think about John Edwards, all the woman had to say is that she thought he was "so sexy", something he probably hadn't heard from his wife in a decade.

This is true to a point...but, women do a pretty damn good job of alienating their husbands, using sex as a weapon, and being quick to forget that they have needs to...sexual and emotional. I've been guilty of the "let's just get it done" attitude. That's not fair, either. Not mention all the women that use marriage as an excuse to let themselves go...children are no excuse for not taking care of yourself.

There is definitely (IMO), such a thing as sex addiction and I've "seen it" on both sides. I use that term loosely, as I'm not a clinician - but I've had some friends...That said, that doesn't excuse a person for cheating. If you're addicted to sex, there are plenty of people that will not care and will be happy to share in a more open lifestyle. This is just damage control. It's the PR stunt to disguise the fact that he and his wife have come to a sum agreement sufficient enough to keep them together for a predetermined period of time.
