I don't think that many frequent flyers do this, they don't have to. They're first on the plane because of status and there's always plenty of room in the overhead. Plus they know which side to put it on, wheels first of course, and actually save space for others. They also typically travel more and on shorter notice keeping all of OUR fares low. That's it, I'm printing bumper stickers - "I heart frequent flyers"

Not overly bright move...but, it's a leap to start making assumptions about it's impact to anyone other than himself. It's even more unfair to speculate about fraudulent activity when the article says nothing about filing a claim.

I don't know. Since we have 2 vehicles that we don't carry insurance on, we self insure, I wouldn't just jump to that conclussion.

I don't like the Bahama's either. Since the Turks is so close, I wanted to be sure that they weren't very similar. We did VI last year at this time. No interest in Jamaica - I've just heard that it's gotten very dangerous, mon. I guess Grace Bay is the place to stay? That's where all the spots are that my agent sent me and it appears to be where the Royal resort is as well.

It all comes down to loyalty. If you're a frequent traveler, be loyal to your airline and they will return the favor. If you're not a frequent traveler, or you're a "best price" shopper, than you'll have to take your lumps or drive. At the end of the day, it is a fraction of what it used to cost to fly which has made family, friends, and leisure travel more possible than ever.

Turks and Caicos? Any reviews?

They must have been very oversized. I travel with an oversized, but almost always make it through security. I almost always travel with my luggage, a backpack with my camera equipment and a purse and never have a problem through security. But, I've learned to work the system. If you're going to be standing in a line for a long time, you gotta be a little stealthy.

I'd be interested in hearing how this works out and what airline you were on. Since they pink tag them, I'm not even sure how it's matched/tracked? When you check at the gate, it should get a pink tag and go directly from the door of the plane to downstairs without knowing which passanger it belongs to?

I hate Delta. If I can avoid flying them, I absolutely will. But that's for a myriad of other reasons aside from the bag fees. Just an FYI, you can avoid bag fees by checking at the gate.
