  1. Yesterday was the 68th anniversary of Pearl Harbor and Google did nothing...yet, today the google doodle is changed to celebrate the creator of Popeye????
  2. You've had 5 kids in 11 years...it's little wonder y'all are still together - you never leave the bedroom!
  3. In her Oprah interview, she mentioned that she was scared...so I do put some of the responsibility on the victim. However, it's like owning a pit bull. If you know that an animal has agressive tendancies, and you choose to own that animal, you are responsible for harm it inflicts on another.
  4. It was intentional. The owner of this animal should be held accountable and prosecuted.
  5. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,579653,00.html NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A Connecticut prosecutor does not plan to charge the owner of a chimpanzee that mauled and blinded a woman in February, according to a person with direct knowledge of the investigation. [snip]The animal, which was shot and killed by police, had also escaped in 2003 from his owner's car and led police on a chase for hours in downtown Stamford. No one was injured. Records obtained by The Associated Press through an open-records request show the state began receiving warnings immediately after that event.
  6. I agree that it's great that there were ways of denfense...still, the whole "shoot em up" city we live in is alarming. Crime does go up over the holidays, but Atlanta seems to be on a pretty steady up tick of violence as of late.
  7. http://www.ajc.com/news/bloody-weekend-in-metro-230219.html Even by metro Atlanta standards, it was a grisly weekend. By the time the weekend ended, police were investigating additional killings in Roswell, College Park, East Point and Ellenwood.
  8. Beautiful home! I wish you the best of luck selling it!
  9. Thank you all! This house shopping is going to KILL me.
  10. The date, time, what he was wearing, what I was wearing...and the memories of that weekend. We were, truly, brought together by God.
  11. Can you retro a cholorine pool to be salt water? Has anyone ever done it?
  12. Global warming and carbon footprints are a farce - but I never said that. What we do know is that the environment is desperate for good stewards. Not because we should all be scared that the hole in the ozone is going to burn us all up, but rather that we're damaging our OWN quality of life. Especially in Atlanta, where the idea is to build an exit, and then build some office parks. Go up a bit, build another exit and another office park. Instead of thinking about density, we've decided that we prefer our neighborhoods; Alpharetta to Gwinnett - Marietta to Atlanta...we see traffic, long c
  13. No, no. His secretary prints off a sheet for him to carry around with him everyday, but, we can't trend that. So, I need a centralized place to keep it. He's not overweight, but he doesn't eat healthy!
  14. It's fun! You get to revisit the cards and it's fun on the gifts. It always ticks me off when people write on the top part of the card because then I can't use it!
  15. I cut up the previous year's holiday cards and make tags out of them. All of my SO's gifts come from Santa with cute little commentary about what's inside. For instance, I got him a daily diet journal and on the tag I wrote, "Because you know how Santa worries.." We bake cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve, right before opening up one gift
  16. My company is less than 100 employees with revenues at about $400M. DBF's business is 2000 employees and $400M in revenue. Both are hiring. Both are laying off. I, myself, had 2 job interviews in the last 2 weeks. Companies ARE employing people. Bottom line is that businesses are being forced to do things smarter. Trim the fat. Do more with less. Whatever damn cliche you want to attach to it. Still, the government doesn't need to come in and take over the payroll. What they need to do is cut corporate taxes, get the hell out of the private sector and let capitalism work. MCMM is rig
  17. This could have all been circumvented with a threesome.
  18. HUSH! I was talking to the box company owner! And there was a WINK, indicating jest!
  19. OK, those are NOT slippers! lol! I get shin splits more than foot pain. Eek...feet creep me out!
  20. I don't even know where to start with this. First, it's hire. If you want to own a box company, the correct spelling of this word is critical Companies that can't afford to hire, shouldn't look to the government to hire for them, they should find a way to put thier companies in a position to hire or they should tighten things up and wait out the storm. I think the fact that companies aren't hiring is a fallacy. But here's a tip....if you're looking for a job in Paulding county that allows you to put in 8 neat hours a day - you might be sitting a while.
  21. Give us the review! I had no idea they even made such a thing!
  22. I can't speak to those...but we have these at both houses! http://www.brookstone.com/tempurpedic-slippers.html and they rock! My DBF is a 13. I have flat feet and I swear by them...plus, your feet don't come out of them!
  23. I've been done for a couple weeks. Our tree floweth over. I'm sure I'll manage to impulse buy a few more things...but we shopped throughout the year during our travels, so we really only had to do the kids.
  24. It did for me. The other thing is that I would accelerate and it wouldn't go...well, it would, but less than a mile an hour. And there was bucking too. Believe me, I was SHOCKED when I called the dealership and they told me to rescrew my gas cap. I thought for sure this was like the IT guy telling you to reboot your computer. Sure enough... Have it checked out, but don't panic yet.
  25. I am 99% certain it's your gas cap! This same thing happened on my brand new SUV and I freaked out just the same. Try to unscrew it and run it for a few minutes.
