  1. Is it a good concert venue? Also, is it indoor or outdoor? We have the opportunity to get some free Miranda Lambert tickets and wanted to find out a bit more before we commit to them. Thank you.
  2. I wonder why it is so important? If there was a REALLY good reason wouldn't all tags require it? Or do they just punish the ones who could care less what their tag looks like and goes with the basic one and not pay a special tag fee.
  3. If this is the case, does it sound like the new Marshall in charge has things under control? And why in the world would a rescue not be allowed to take several dogs? So many things about your statement seem odd.
  4. If it is the girl in the link you are referring to then you are very wrong. VERY wrong. I saw them a couple of years ago out on the side of the road and going back and forth to their minivan, sorry if I am confusing them, but I do not believe I am.
  5. I agree, no one knows what they would do until put in those shoes. When reading about it my only concern was that apparently the disease does not favor heat is not at all good for her, no matter how much time. I just cannot imagine.
  6. I would call you if you said you would give me $50 if you couldn't save me $50 a month for apples to apples coverage...
  7. Sounds like they inspect to get a fee, not so much to actually assume any responsibility for that fee they are collecting.
  8. I hope you had the opportunity to speak with the parents on their child's careless antics!
  9. In the beginning I gave a specific example of a scholarship specifically designed to black male teachers, so how could race not come into play in the question? I will just stick to what I told my kids, work your butt off and you will be successful and they have thankfully listened. Honestly, it is not that big of an issue for me, I have not been called bad names or attacked as of yet, so I think I will quit while I am ahead, I lurk here most of the time for a reason.
  10. I do get your point on advertising that and that makes sense. Ok, let's rephrase the question. Let's say there is a shortage of male white teachers in our schools in a given year. Someone decides that they want to sponsor a scholarship for this particular need. Do you think that there would be a huge uproar when it was announced that it was discrimination? If you agree, then why would the reverse situation be ok and the proposed situation be held to a different standard?
  11. Yes, I understand why they added historically and I understand why schools wouldn't want to put out there HWCU's because that would be being proud of something that is not a part of their history to be proud of. But my question is why is the reverse not true with HBCU's? I guess you don't see my point and I will just have to chalk it up to one of those mysteries in life. Part of what makes the world go around I guess.
  12. Actually I googled just now, try googling white college and black college. Not much on the first search but on the black college search you get black college suggestions, black baseball, black scholarships, etc. Just an example of my question and how these items are contradictory to your first statement.
  13. Again, most of these were called black only or specifically advertised as a race only event not necessarily saying they would deny anyone, how is that right? Once again, I can see something turning into a predominately black school or event, but to specifically name it that? This is what I am not understanding. I think there are several HBCU's with excellent reputations and do a lot of good, so I am not knocking the school itself, just the choice of the name when used for another race would have blood boiling. Guess I will never understand.
  14. I agree there are a lot of events/organizations out there that exist that have pretty much turned into white only, however due to discrimination laws they are not allowed to advertise it as such. So, my question is, how does the logic not apply to race specific events/organizations whether it be black, native american, latino, white, etc? Just because one race chooses not to participate due to them being a minority or is not qualified into an event for whatever reason such as a pageant, how does that justify starting a discriminatory event?
  15. Women I believe, what point are you making?
