  1. I get a lot of my staple pieces from Macy's - affordable. I love pencil skirts. Ask the cashiers what days items are marked down (Target is Tuesday, Macys is Sunday) and shop close to those days for the best selection, 2 days after for the deepest discounts.
  2. You should try to hit the boutiques in the area. Because they can't afford to keep a lot of inventory, they usually grab the designer 0-4's that can't sell elsewhere. http://www.atlantaboutique.com/ 0-4 has become the niche, not the norm. But, with good reason, as it's very hard without genetic disposition to be that small and be healthy.
  3. You really don't have things that you think are hot? I love salt and pepper hair, firemen, a suit and tie, loafers, baseball pants, blue eyes, soft feet and big...well. But, as with all things - an ugly person inside is an ugly person outside.
  4. I was exaggerating, slightly. Harrod's is about the ONLY place that you could go and get something. Heck, I've been to H&M and Zara in three different countries and couldn't find anything above a size 10. I've hit all of the couture in Paris, Milan and Capri...you find me a 12, and I'll buy you one in your size.
  5. That's why I shop at Loft so much...I'm like, an 8 there!
  6. Kindof. When was Twiggy popular? 60's? We had Kate in the 90's. And now, the larger model is coming back - look at that Mad Men chick. Every 25 years or so we change our idea of beauty. I wish I loved cocaine as much as I do steak.
  7. After the second article, I'm glad he got 2 years. She was HOLDING her dog. And my guess is that it wasn't a struggle for her to do so.
  8. This thing will not get built...there is something entirely too fishy with the funding. Why the seller said no to $18M and then turned around 18 months later and sold for $4M...something isn't right.
  9. MrsB really wants us all to know that she's thing and young.
  10. That's what I thought too...I wouldn't think that shooting a dog, that you felt was going to attack you, would get you jail time. Maybe it's just a poorly written article.
  11. http://www.ajc.com/news/forsyth/forsyth-man-sentenced-to-610944.html Am I missing some of the story? If a dog was charging at me, and I was in fear, isn't it self defense?
  12. No, she was a 6-8. She was 117lbs and 5'5 at the time of her death. Most of the clothes in this show, I promise you, will be modeled by size 6-10 models. Plus size for the industry, but know that only a fraction (I'm being generous) of what they send down that runway will look good on a 14 or higher. You can be fashionable at just about any size...once you start getting into the 18, 20, 22, I'm sure it becomes harder, but you can always go with chunck colors and accessorize. And, be thankful that you don't live in Europe. They don't make clothes larger than a size 6.
  13. Kelly Ripa needs to keep clothes on...Fit as a fiddle or not, she looks like a man. Couple of things from the OP. "Though the event is not officially part of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week" - Prada and "plus size" will never share lips. Thought I'd also show you the host of the show...http://www.onestopplus.com/ Of the 4 featured models on the home page, only one can be considered "plus". It's a money grab, and while 62% of American women may be overweight, you'd be hard pressed to find a buyer at fashion week that is.
  14. I need things that are old or reliable. For instance... "Old Faithful" "As reliable as 911" I need to just brainstorm as many quips as I can...anyone want to help?
  15. Shane's life is pretty well effed from here forward. I hate when these things happen. Have you searched all of his friends on FB to see who lives in that area? A call to them or their parents (whatever you can find in the phone book) can probably scare someone into turning them in. There's a very, very good chance that they're with friends.
  16. I worked for Publix for 5 years!!!! I LOVE THIS STORE!! (No it's prices) All managers make at LEAST $50K a year!!! To work in Paulding! Their management training is, without a doubt, the best I've ever seen. While I remember when the first Georgia store was opened, I still keep a lot of my network.
  17. It's not like he's using them on the way to school. Still, when your family lives in South Florida, 12 hours is a LONG ride for anyone, let alone a child. Sorry, for those rides we have caved to technology. The good news is that my car rides will still be peaceful. I guess his dad's going to have to learn 99 bottle of milk on the wall, or the alphabet game, or whatever other "interaction" you speak of that has miraculously turned long car rides into a pleasurable experience.
  18. No. My son should check his pockets before he puts his clothes in the hamper. That's his lesson - he doesn't get another one unless he wants to save and buy it himself. He is no longer allowed to take things I bought to his father's house...so, that drive to Tampa/Amelia/isertlongdrivehere with an 8 year old WITHOUT a dvd player, ipod, or DS will be my ex's punishment.
  19. He WASHED my son's ipod. He claims that he can never afford to get my son the pricier xmas gifts so I always do it... I don't know which of them is more irresponsible with their toys.
  20. Vegas is going to be a lot more affordable from just about any standpoint. I haven't been to either, but I am going to AC in October. We are staying at the Water Club, which is part of Borgata. http://www.thewaterclubhotel.com/ TONS to do, onsite, great dining, FAB spa, comedy clubs (we're seeing Carlos Mencia), music, etc.
  21. Usually, if not always, scams...but, I will say that my buddy picked up a SWEET house in the heart of beautiful Decatur, 3/2, $400/mo. The only schtick was that he had to sign a 5 year lease and do the yard work. The guy was an attorney, didn't need the house after a marriage, but didn't want to sell it.
