  1. I have some questions for bookworm: Do you have any book clubs/groups? Do you have any reviewers? It might be fun to have someone/several review books each week. I recently completed the Millenum series, and I would have LOVED to have people to talk to about that. In addition, I just started The Reliable Wife and I can't get into it...so reviews and such would keep me going!! Just some thoughts. Sorry for the hijack Mark.
  2. A smoovah is, indeed, an iron. "The sugars" is diabetes, I didn't know that one either.
  3. I've been to service there once and it was a great group of people. I saw noting out of the ordinary at their service.
  4. I equate it to listening to someone from NOLA. It can be very tough to understand someone born deep in the bayou. I think that ebonics can be absolutely unintelligible at times. Slang, mixed with the speed at which it's spoken...I can understand the need. I heard this story from a paramedic once. He was responding to a call in which a man was hit on the head with a "smoovah". What do you think a "smoovah" was?
  5. Did anyone read the article about the DEA looking for ebonics translators? Good Day Atlanta says it's just English and things it's a waste of money, but apparently the DEA cant understand wire taps. What do you think?
  6. This is at Fox this weekend. I'm so debating getting tickets - I used to watch this every Christmas with my grandma. It's one of my FAVORITE movies!!! I wonder if my 8 year old son would like it???? Anyone going?
  7. Isn't that the whole point of a pageant? To be judged?
  8. Oh and the 6 month age is my favorite. These mom's are wearing 20 year old jeans, tshirts, and have the 80's perm while they're carrying their 6 month olds in $200 dresses. I would, at minimum, wear a pair of kahkis and a shirt that compliments the child's dress. It's awesomeness
  9. Watch Little Perfect on TV sometime. You're going to be sitting in an audience of overweight, homely women that are all applauding at their dolled up children peppered with the occasional father that just wants to get out of there in time for the NASCAR recap. And this is what it looked like when when is was held in Buckhead. You know, when is this pageant? This could be prime people watching.
  10. Just figured since you needed to spend a couple hundred bucks on something for your daughter...
  11. Lunch is $4, so he only gets to eat school lunch twice a week.
  12. That's it!!! Now Jack, if you could only solve the chicken mystery!
  13. Celexa is the generic...it's not exact but same active ingrediant, but it works quite well as a generic alternative. It's not as tolerable to start, but if you're on Lexapro, you can switch without any side effects
  14. I must have missed the fibromyalgia part...yes, that's completely different! I'm sorry, that's a terribly frustrating disease!
  15. Why not take the generic? It's MUCH cheaper.
  16. I think that I have them confused. Whats the name of that new unit that patrols high crime areas?
  17. wellbutrin is much better for depression - I have anxiety (GAD and panic disorder). The first 3 weeks I was so happy! Energy, high sex drive, etc. but then I started having attacks and had to go back on Lexapro. I have to augment with ativan from time to time. Are you seeing a therapist? I think that's key for depression, since depression is more often the result of a stressor vs. a neurological deficiency.
  18. There are 4 and the live at the Rite Aide. Now, if my chickens disappear, I'mma gonna be mad - so Mrs. B, don't get any dinner ideas!
  19. I think you have this in reverse. Paxil and Zoloft are bad (lawsuits), Lexapro and Celexa are good. They're all SSRI's, and it's just trial and error to see which works best for you. Nausea and tiredness are normal and subside after a week or so of taking it as prescribed. I've been on Lexapro for about 5 years. Prior I was on Zoloft for 3 years (do NOT use this drug) and I've also tried Wellbutrin.
  20. I encounter a variety of police officers in my first hour of the day. I start with a detective at Starbucks as well as a handful of regular beat cops 3 times a week. From there I generally follow a Sheriff's car to my son's school, and come back waving at the STEP cops at south cobb high. Needless to say - great eye candy, as long as it's not prefaced with blue lights. So, here's my question - do STEP cops make more money? And if so, why are they running radar at S Cobb High? They're supposed to be paroling high crime areas. I'm thinking that maybe they just get the nicer cars. Second
