  1. Well officer it was a person. Yes, they were a color Yes, they had hair, eyes, nose, mouth. Yea, that's real helpful. The OP didn't say they were Mexican, Portuguese, Dominican, etc. She just stated that they were Hispanic. Good grief get your panties out of a wad.
  2. Awe, your welcome. I love to read (you know you won't hear) about things like this. I bet there are many more of these stories then the ones like Vick, and others. But, that doesn't sell.
  3. Sounds like a normal kid to me. For God's sake it's only been 3 days. PM me with your number. I will call you tomarrow. Please don't freak out. BTW I have a child (he is 30 now) with ADD.
  4. I do think she said that they were married. Unless they have crappy insurance, and things have changed in 11 years, yes she might be able to get on her husband's insurance. My husband started a job in Jan. got insurance in March I was pregnant (5mos) and was able to get on it. OP check into these things. You don't know unless you ask.
  5. Yes, some of those actions can be ADD/HD. However it can also be normal. One of the first questions I have is why the school (I'm presuming it was the teacher) called you already. School has only been in session for 3 days. How does the teacher know any of the students yet? Please don't jump to conclusions yet. If a kindergartner didn't want to move around or want to get up, and down I would be worried. First have a real long face to face with the teacher, and then ask for the school consular observe the class before doing anything. You knows your child better then any one else. You might
  6. The first short walk six-year-old Luke Akerstrom took since a rare form of encephalitis unexpectedly struck him last New Year's Eve consisted of a few slow steps into the waiting arms of Jacksonville Jaguars center Brad Meester. As the rest of the Jags players and coaches watched, Akerstrom took five steps on the team's training field, the first he had taken alone since a 35-minute seizure last Dec. 31 confined him to a wheelchair. Luke had to walk again. He had to. "Mommy," he said to his mother a few months ago, "I have to walk because Jaguars don't roll, they run."
  7. Prayers for all of them. Thank you to the families.
  8. I have come to the conclusion that perhaps, the American dream is what you want out of your life.
  9. If your husband has insurance, you should be able to get on it. I was able to be put on my DH when I was preggers. They said it wasn't a "pre-existing" condition. This was United Health Care, we had the PPO. If you can get Aflac do. Also keep it after you go back to work. It is well worth it.
  10. I'm thinking maybe a light would be a really good idea. So many wreaks. Hope everyone is OK.
  11. I agree with all of that. Big houses and expensive cars are just status symbols. I still have hope that ONLY in America can someone do or be anything they want. I also think that people still want to own a piece of property. They still want to worship as they want. They also want their children educated, so that they can be productive members of society. These dreams are slipping away however.
  12. I grew up thinking that the American Dream was to own your own home. What ever you were comfortable with is what you should dream. If you wanted a mansion you could have it, if you wanted a ranch house or a bungalow you could have it. The one thing is that you had to work for it. Nothing is handed to you. You could be anything you wanted to be, if you studied hard, and got good grades. You didn't have to go to college unless you really wanted to. If you wanted to be a doctor of course you would go to college. But, if you were happy to dig ditches, be the best ditch digger you can. It didn
  13. Head and Hatch is who we used. 600.00 to survey 4 lots, and to do the drawing (whatever it's called) and file it.
  14. So did we. It's dry as a bone round here.
  15. I hope everyone had a great day. DS is such a guy, I got "yea, I had a good day." That's it. At least he did use his Agenda.
  16. So this is every AM? Same car, sane route? Might be time for some "official" intervention.
  17. Me too. Feeling blue. Dropped off 6th grader. He's our baby.
  18. I see that this has been answered. I was going to say look up the bus schedule. The arrival time should be close enough so that the student will not be late. Of course this AM I will be taking DS to school. Tomorrow he will be on the bus.
  19. Been up all night. Knew I wouldn't be able to sleep. Hope all have a GREAT day.
  20. What every one else has said. Consistency from everybody in the house.
  21. Dunwoody, Buckhead, Lenox area. Guess you haven't lived in those areas before. How bout even closer to home? Powder Springs, Doraville. The kicker is I know that a lot of the wannabes and the real trouble isn't "poor minorities" only in your raciest mind would you think I was talking about "minorities."
  22. I think you are jumping through hoops to pull the race card. Get a grip. It's very rarely about race. Just why are you such a raciest? Why are you prejudiced against poor people? MANY people move to areas such as this to get away from the city, period. If MANY of those same people had wanted to live in the city, they would live there now. Business want to make money. What we do not need is more retail or restaurants.
  23. Who said that? No it would not be a good idea. I see lots of EMPTY buildings. Why not get business to come here?
