  1. I can't read it....things like this torture my soul. I have a 5 yo and 15 month old and can't imagine anyone doing anything like that to a child. What the he%% makes people think something like this is ok???
  2. I think I had them yesterday....but I'm not 100% sure b/c they didn't look that much different! I liked the original ones, though.
  3. I could be your first passenger! Fly me to Tampa Friday morning, arriving down there around 7:30 to 8 am?? Fly back in the afternoon.... I just hope the fare's not $1 Billion.
  4. Just what you need at the time, right?? Ha! Both my kids were C-sections so I was even mostly covered during both their births.
  5. I'm flying tomorrow night for the first time in a couple of years. I'm undecided how I feel about the scanners. At the moment, I'm kinda creeped out by anyone other than my husband seeing any version of my "fun parts," even if they are in a back room somewhere. Maybe I'll be able to divorce myself from that emotional response when I actually get there. Funny story, though....family and I flew to Virginia a few years ago. I had forgotten and left a small pocket knife in my carry-on, attached to my keys. Didn't realize it was there until security at the tiny airport in VA spotted it dur
  6. Woot! I've gotten so many compliments on my hair, just since Friday!
  7. That you'll have to ask him. If he's like some people in my family, he'll go out to eat, buy the latest "stuff" just to have it, etc. I did have a job through college and paid most of my own bills, but I wasn't smart about the scholarship money (b/c it felt like "free money" at the time). Same concept with the $2500 and your son.
  8. Been there, done that. I had a full scholarship my first year of college. Thought I had money to burn. Bought all new books, everything I thought I needed, etc. etc. The scholarship was a graduated plan, where it reduced a little every year, but I could carry over anything I had left from year to year. Second year I ended up with less than a full scholarship. Suddenly I realized that used books were just as good as new ones (and cheaper) and I didn't *need* everything I thought I did. If I'd been smart the first year, I'd have planned ahead to make sure I had some to carry over. Mor
  9. Limits are good and will protect you, but make sure he's responsible for keeping track of how much he has coming in and how much he spends. I don't think my brother ever learned how to balance a checkbook or set up and stick to a budget. Don't get me started on his financial abilities now....he's 31. I also agree with NC - maybe time to consider a steady job?
  10. Help him set up a budget. He needs to understand now that more outgo than income = broke. He can figure out ahead of time roughly how much he'll have, how much he expects to spend and then can figure out if he needs to sacrifice in certain areas and not spend as much, or if he can do something more that week to bring in more money.
  11. I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend and for her family's loss of a mother and wife. I just can't imagine.
  12. I have the Verizon version of the Samsung....love it! Had an iPhone 3G immediately before. I prefer the Samsung. I don't know what kinds of apps you're looking for that aren't available on the Samsung / Android, but I'm actually happier with the apps on it than the ones on the iPhone.
  13. Heh heh, add my 14 month old to the list of "those with dimpled cracks." LOL I noticed it when he was born but his dr never said anything and he is completely and perfectly healthy now.
  14. Wow, that's brazen! Thanks for the warning.
  15. Haha, I think I gave my husband a complex the first 2 weeks we had ours b/c I kept telling him how much I loved my phone! We switched from iPhones and so far, I am so happy we did. The apps I use most: Grocery iQ (grocery list app) EEBA (Easy Envelope Budget Aid) TuneIn Radio Audio Manager Console Scanner Radio CauseWorld Facebook Ringdroid Have fun!
  16. How many times did you call them after they didn't call you as expected?
  17. I really hope this doesn't catch on. I also saw where some overseas carriers are trying to get approval to allow standing-room-only flights. Yeah, that sounds safe....
  18. Thanks for sharing! It's been a couple of years but I think the other place I had no signal with Sprint was on E Paulding Dr....I can't remember the intersection but there's a gas station on the corner......I think it's before you get to the Mt Tabor intersection as you're coming from Dallas Hwy. There was a fair stretch of road through there with no or almost no signal. Greg, it looks like you have a plan for a workaround. Good luck!
  19. Crud! We were planning to go get the new Fascinate tomorrow. Guess we better do some more research. Anyway, we live a few miles inside Cobb (off Dallas Hwy) and used to have Sprint. Coverage was great here at the house and good in most of the places we traveled, except for some parts of New Hope. Had a few dropped calls here and there, but I guess all of them do to some extent. Only reason we left them was falling prey to the iPhone craze....
  20. My boss lives just outside of Rochester and was treated at the Mayo Clinic for prostate cancer a couple of years ago. They caught it very early and used cutting edge treatment. I know your Dad is going for something different but I've heard very good things in general about them. I can talk to my boss tomorrow if you want, for recommendations on logistics (travel, lodging), etc. PM me if you're interested...
  21. Good for you!!! I can relate to feeling like a bad mom for making consequences stick, but like others have said, it's the right thing to do. This parenting thing is hard!!! (When you're doing it "right".....)
