  1. I saw it on Lock Up on MSNBC. They feature different prisons each episode, it runs saturday nights around 9-1 or 2 am. Two of the prisoners had it, one had it all red and the other all blue.I think it was 2 maybe 3 weeks ago.
  2. Yet another trend from prison that is not needed.
  3. 41 from barrett parkway to 92 was dry today. 92 was mostly dry. Ridge Rd on the 61 side was salted, but not dry. We were also fine on 278 and 61. We were driving around between 4 to 5:30. But by 6:30 or so the driveway had refrozen.
  4. Working as a fulltime/part time pet sitter I'm considered an independent contractor and claim my mileage when I do my taxes. This year though I've been through 3 cars, and it has always asked me the beginning and ending mileage in addition to how many miles were used for work. Since I claimed about 10 grand in mileage last year this is important. Jan-May Ford Focus almost 200,000 miles when i traded it in. June-Sept Jeep Compass(2009- I think I get a tax credit for this?)6,000 miles on it when it was wrecked and totaled. Oct- Now 2005 Honda Element- This came with 105,000 miles on it and
  5. I'm kinda so so with Comcast. We had a bad expierence getting it installed in an apartment. Lots of over charges. We still don't have the correct cable package, but I think that is the reps fault. We could only use a certain one to get the deal we were offering and he was told what we wanted, said the package he offered would do that, but nope think again. At this point he and his supervisor won't return e-mails or phone calls. I've tried making a complaint but got nothing back besides the inital I'm sorry and its been sent to the needed people. On the other hand, the house I used to live
  6. I'm not the one who bought it(she had had the house a year or two before we got together). I believe she did get an inspector but the inspector never went inside the house. I know she used a broker and not a real estate agent. I don't really have all the details about why things were done the way they were. House was originally a small farm house, the owners started selling all of the land around it and eventually turned it into a rental and then decided to sell it completly. It mostly looks like they covered up whatever they could, and added things..even if it meant rigging it so that is was
  7. Yep, nice low mortage payment....lots of stuff that isn't quite right. Thanks to everyone for responding.
  8. I think the reasoning behind it was pay to fix this now...and it will cost less than the damage from a fire? Like I said, we had more than one friend suggest it so I figured Id check to see if it made sense to anybody else. And no I wouldn't have thought anything about the paint or carpet, I consider those things cosmetic anyway. One of the friends that suggested it had an electrical fire in her kitchen. Her insurance rewired her entire house when they fixed it. Rewiring the house is on the to do list, we just do improvements as we can afford them and do things to prevent any accidents. For in
  9. And...there are times when I'm glad I ask questions before doing things Thanks guys.
  10. Yea, the friend that told us had her house rewired AFTER she had a fire in her kitchen. I guess it might just be staying on the to do list.
  11. A few friends have suggested for us to do this: Our house has no wires grounded at all. If we run a ceramic space heater that blows heat..it melts the cord. We checked our microwave outlet when it went out...the inside was completly black. There is only one socket in the kitchen, none in the bathroom and 2 in the living room and bedrooms. If you try to microwave and vacuum at the same time it flips the breaker..getting the picture? Our friends have suggested having an agent from our home owners insurance inspect it because they might pay to have the entire house wired properly. Does sound vali
  12. When I had my accident the trooper said that I admitted fault becuase I said " so much for cheap insurance". Sometimes they don't use the best common sense.

    Fences

I would love to have a fence for the pups. I'd lived in 3 places without one, and one with...and its so worth it to get the fence. Unless someone does financing I'm going to need to save up so for those of you who have fences: Did you do it yourself or did you hire someone? What was the cost? How long did it take? How is it holding up to wear and tear? What height did you get? Did you have to do any clean up in your yard before it could be put in? Thanks for the input!
  15. I got a 2009 Jeep Compass in... July i think. Had an accident on Sept 3rd..and it got totaled. Only my passenger front end was damaged. The body shop quit looking at the damage when they hit $11,000(my loan was only 16 and something). If you hit just right you can bend the frame, which is what I think happened to me. That and it took 2 hands for me to get the car in and out of park. I know it sucks having to get a new one and figure what payment you want. Best of luck.
  16. Ever think that someone who gauges thier ears that much doesn't give a flip about having a job with a fortune 500 company?
  17. I like my oasis as well. I have found though that using a different solution helped. I stopped using the all purpose and now use a disinfecting that comes with a funky stand up case. It isn't saline though so if you use it you have to be ready to have your contacts out 4-6 hours. That has made a huge difference, and I'm one of those people that stretch my two weeks to a complete month with 3/4 of that time not taking the contacts out.
  18. I agree. I know in Paulding, code enforcement is almost 100 percent complaint driven.
  19. I guess another reason why we thought it was odd is that we are located off of a busy 278 type road. We are surrounded by grocery stores, fast foods, a church, a hospital, neighrborhoods and we have two schools not even a mile away. But in order to get to us you have to go up a hill and around a corner, and the only thing there are medical office buildings. There was just no reason a kid should be up there unless they are having an app in another building. And if I needed help I don't think I'd go to a slightly hidden/half empty office park. Thats just me though.
  20. In all honesty I wasn't worried about him being neglected, he wasnt showing any signs of distress, was calm, and was in an upbeat mood. There are parents that let thier kids go around being dirty and rude, without being a child neglect case. I know I didn't write all of this in the original post, but when he was delaying he was looking around like he was trying to see what was in each office, and he asked what was downstairs. My other coworkers agreed that they were more worried about the kid being a part of a scam.
  21. He was about 11. I would say 5'2 maybe? I'm 5'5 and he came up to my shoulder. He was a pretty large kid. He did have the standard name brand fundraiser box of candy on him.
  22. I work in Woodstock in an office park. There are a series of 2 level buildings. Most of the offices are doctors, and in our case medical billing. Every office has a no soliciting sign on the door, not that anyone pays attention. My boss ran out to take her daughter home from school and didn't lock the door behind her (she usually does, she had someone following her out the door so she forgot this time). My coworker and I were eating lunch and browsing the internet when all the sudden there is this kid in our doorway. He said his school/church whatever was trying to get to North Carolina and wo
  23. I wish they could do something like this as well. One of my friends just moved to NO to go to grad school for historic preservation at Tulane. Over the summer she did a class that spent most of the week out in the cemeteries restoring the crypts. For Halloween she is volunterring at the Soiree in the Cemetary. Those tickets are 100 bucks a piece. Her classes go on regular "field trips" to all of the historic landmarks and they have to discuss how to restore them and the history behind them. My point behind that is that one, I'm insanely jealous and two, it really can create and expand to somet
  24. I haven't seen the list yet of the damages, but I think the fact that its a new car that has only been around for like 2 years or so..would make the parts more expensive. Then you add in the frame being bent, and that the transmission is probably messed up. I know I stopped. I go through that intersection every morning. And I also know better than to go flying through that intersection becuase the traffic is so bad. If I had done that then I think the truck would have had more than a dent and I would have ended up with worse injuries then I did. All I had was sore knees and a bad headache
  25. UPDATE: Body shop called, they are at 11,000 worth in damages so far. So what type of new car should i start looking for?
