I guess the difference for me is discriminating against people for the way they are born. Many Christians don't believe that they are born that way. They believe that people choose a lifestyle that will cause them to be shunned, abused and sometimes killed. It is no different than discriminating against people born with a mental deficit. The brains of homosexuals are obviously different than those of heterosexuals. Basically, it boils down to being mean to Gay people. It's not like they were asking them to put porn on a wedding cake. It says a lot about Jeff Sessions belief about ho

I guess this means they can also turn away interracial couples. Muslims? Catholic? Jews? Are they going to question every customer about their religion and ethnicity? How about any other sins they may have committed. I see no difference, they need to refuse those that have had sex before marriage. They also need to ask if they have been divorced or committed adultery. If you are refusing people based on their sins per, the bible then you need to stick to it.

Many of them give back and they don't look for recognition. This is the deal, no matter how rich, how well educated they are to LE they are a potentially dangerous black man when pulled over as ere their children. When you throw crime rates of black on black all you are doing is confirming what they are protesting. People hold black people responsible for what other black people do. They feel the same way about black on black crime and feel just as helpless as we do to solve the problem. The difference is I nor my children are not treated any different because of white on white crime. No pers -
Well, the officers were concerned about surviving it. You know the people that follow the rules and live by the law. I don't support LE unconditionally. Your not the one asking if this guy is going to break the law and kill officers to remain free. He didn't want to pay the consequences of breaking the law or he would not have barricaded himself in. They had good reason to be at his home. They didn't just say eanie meanie miny mo lets just go to his house today.

I go years with no contact with the police. Many years my only contact is social. The same for my kids. Same goes for court. As close as we get are license. If we get shot or abused, it's an issue. For some people, frequent contact is the norm. It makes a difference folks. How can I and mine go years and you and yours think it is just part of life. Sometimes the worse you have done is let crazy in your life. The norm is not police in your life. If someone is bringing the police in your life then you have some choices. I always have compassion for everyone that suffers the worst of consequen

There are so many kids that never had a chance. That is what needs to be addressed. I would like to see the day that it can only be said about a tiny minority. We are making it harder and harder for women to afford birth control. Why would we want any women not ready to raise a child to get pregnant? You see this up close and personal. We do this for the good of society. It should not be political. One way or another as a society we pay for these children, even if it is a prison and we drop a few hundred grand in the judicial system before we can get them behind bars. We can spend the mon

I guess his family considers him a pretty decent person. They must see his criminal record as no big deal. He had a bit of trouble with obeying laws. We will never know if he was going to add cop killing to the list. Those deputies have families at home. I remember thinking when the detective in Polk was shot that 2 mothers lost their children that day. One raised a fine upstanding child and the other raised a criminal. It was not fair that the mother that raised a good child had to lose hers. I feel the same way about this situation. A lot of people don't think that you should be obed

There was a big story about Rex Tillerson this week calling the president a moron. He never denied it, he simply claimed that the behavior in the capitol was petty, and many are sowing the seeds of discord. It had me wondering if there a point where one is entitled to be petty. Is it done out of anger, frustration or is it a matter of running out of valid criticism? I try to walk away at that point. I have not always, I think everyone has been at least a little petty at some point. I do see it a lot in politics. Something I saw way back comes to me sometimes. It was a face the na

paulding county resident worried that a mountain lion was seen near a school

A woman on FB claims this is her Maine coon that weighs about 25lbs. She says he is very sweet and was surprised to see him on the news and to see residents calling him a cougar. -
I hold the door for men all the time. I feel it is rude to let a door go in someone's face. If I see men or women with their hands full I hold the door. I must have held the door a 1000 times for delivery men. I like having the door held for me. When someone does it I always make eye contact and give them a warm thank you. I think men that do it should be shown appreciation. There is nothing wrong with behaving like ladies and gentlemen. Good manners are a way of practicing not being so self-absorbed as many are nowadays. It makes you think about how your behavior affects the people around

59 dead in Las Vegas shooting - 500+ injured

If we could change hearts and minds we would not need any laws. Why have a law against child molestation or rape? My understanding is that if create laws against high round weapons we will only be taking away entertainment from individuals that enjoy it. I am sure those killed and harmed in Los Vegas would not want that enjoyment taken away from people. There is nothing wrong with making it harder on nut jobs to kill massive amounts of people. Nobody cried foul when they limited the amount of fertilizer that the average Joe can buy. There is no doubt this is one of those that loved to shoot hi -

You pass the laws and LE starts dwindling down the folks over time. It may take a few generations, but we will be better off when we get there. I know many of you think Le is just thrilled with the firearm issues of more is better. You are wrong. Of course, elections talk and BS walks. -

The blogs are going nuts with this stuff. One named some other guy and it went viral. He could have ended up hunted down and killed by a vigilante. Google and FB need to start holding these people accountable for publishing lies. -

If the law had limited the number of rounds a gun for personal protection or hunting to 6 rounds the guy would have had to take 100 guns or reload while people had a chance to get away. I don't think someone's enjoyment of firing between 12-50 rounds trumps the danger to the public. I listened to an interview where a man was talking about the types of weapons this man used and how exhilarating it was to fire fully automatic weapons with 50 or more rounds. I thought to myself it must have been really exhilarating to this guy firing into a crowd too. -

Actually, the theory that gun collectors and those that get off by firing hundreds of ammo are never the ones we need worry about has been proven wrong. We have been told over and over that we should have the right to own magazines that hold more than 5 or six rounds. Modifiers are legal as well. We should never infringe on these innocent little hobbies by the sweetest most caring humans in our society. We all know they are very stable, not the least bit paranoid. We are assured that they don't feel it gives them authority and control over others. We feel they will protect us from our own gove -
I never thought that BLM was primarily a police issue as it applied to black on black crime also. Many blacks are of the belief that even other blacks don't value their own and that is the cause of high rates of black on black crime and higher rates of incarceration. I can ask a friend that is active in these issues if that is so.

He will go down in history as one of our greatest presidents. He saved 100's of thousands of lives through healthcare reform. He was one of the smartest and most intelligent presidents this country has ever had. He heroically pulled us out of a dangerous recession. One so dangerous we could have had violent rioting and looting in our streets. He sent millions of illegals back across the border. It has become apparent that he dealt with one of the most incompetent groups of Republican lawmakers in history. All that left just one thing racism.

We are on a Paulding county message board. I don't think Trump cares about what our handful of people think about him. how about the right wing fake news and the left wing fake news promise to stop lying to the American people. That would help this country more than anything.

I guess you believe that there are government employees out there recruiting as many black people as they can to get on social welfare programs. I can only assume that you think somewhere up the chain of command there is an elected Democrat encouraging this so they can be re-elected. You must think it is really easy to get housing, Medicaid, and food stamps. Maybe they just hand it out to Hispanics and blacks when they walk in the door. When white people walk in they just automatically show them the door. That is why White people vote Republican. You really don't understand what Democrats want

I didn't mean that was what you intended. I could not believe someone said that.

I did not think I was racist until I confronted my own perceptions. I still have to check some of them they are so ingrained. Someone said on a news forum that these black men should be grateful for the opportunities they have been given. As though they didn't have the talent, they didn't work for it. Most of them aren't standing up for themselves. They are standing up for those that don't have a voice. The little nobodies that are pulled over and drug out of cars on their bellies for driving black. They are risking a lot by taking a knee, they have a lot to lose. I totally respect them for wh

Do they represent 99% of black people in America? We see black and we see___ fill in the negative blank. You can't crawl in their skin and absolutely know what it is to be black in America. Even if they are angry or entitled you can have empathy. You don't have to give up anything you own. Most of the black people I know don't want money or things given to them. You have to understand that they were given housing, food stamps and other entitlements instead of acceptance and respect. Make no mistake that the people in this picture are talking about that. They have to prove that they are not cri

Most of my black friends are well educated, many own their own businesses. Racism is not the blatant acts we are familiar with post-civil war until the late 70's. More than anything it is perception. How whites see things vs how blacks see things. One thing I can tell you my black friends hate is to see the black on black crime brought up. The way they see those people is the same way you might see people you are sometimes close to. That is, they never had a chance. Then people want to hold the 1 in 10,000 up and say he overcame it why didn't you. It reminds me of a joke where the husband com
