  1. I am thinking about setting up a meeting place to take dog food out there. Also, our shelter is accepting donations for Polk county.
  2. The most important thing is to find the people he was providing these dogs for. It has to be huge if he was working that hard to get that many dogs. That is a lot of work so it had to pay well. Polk County is a high kill shelter. The public needs to keep their eyes on this to prevent more tragedy.
  3. Some people believe that these are stolen pets. This is why they are so friendly. Most of the animals are not in really bad shape. It may be because they were recently stolen.
  4. According to police, the property was foreclosed, and its former owner, Devechio Rowland, was arrested Monday morning. Devechio was also arrested and charged in 2010 for dog fighting.
  5. Homicide has to go to the GBI for the entire state so it takes longer.
  6. I had issues with the quality of Kmart and Sears. I have never been one to judge quality by a price tag or the sign on the door. I use my own eyes to judge. Sears started suffering from some serious marketing mistakes. The craftsman line was a biggie. My dad always said how hard it was to stay alive when you just catered to a single market and we have seen plenty of that fail. Sears was never a discount store like Kmart and Walmart. What they did makes no sense. In their brand stores, they started selling lower quality imports. Then they placed a name that was supposed to represent good qualit
  7. Sounds good, but we are a totally cash society. We saw a huge failure of the fledgeling barter model during the recession. We see the homeless struggling for survival. You can't even get something as essential for survival as clean water without cash. Cash is a value placed on labor. Thinking is the most valuable labor in our society. Yet the it crumbles without those willing to bend their backs and break a sweat. I will predict a future famine scare as a result of current immigration policies. Americans learn everything the hard way. At the basis of that are the universal truths. Demonizing th
  8. I feel so sorry for him. He was so scared for his own life he couldn't even process his wife was dead. I just can't imagine what it is like to have a loved one be murdered.

  10. The real question is what will they develop? What do people want. Many want it on the doorstep. The meal delivery services are doing better than I ever thought they would. Millenials shop on line a lot! Grocery stores are going to be the big retail giants of the future. They will be more like Walmarts with more emphasis on non-food items. But there will be less of them.
  11. I am not surprised that this business model is collapsing. Many of the chain restaurants are going the same way. I learned some things in business way back in the beginning of growing my own business and helping others with theirs. There are universal truths that apply to all aspects of life and they do not exclude the business world. Many tend to think that you become successful by using heads as a stepping stone. This is why many people think the rich became that way by doing immoral things. The biggest and the best are either owned by people who understand the universal truths or emplo
  12. I have seen the buy outs before. The new owners must think they are going to get rich. They put their special lights around the windows. The locals figure it out and start avoiding it if they can.
  13. I just got off the phone with her. She is doing great. The surgical incision is nothing compared to the agony she had been in. I am so thankful to have my little buddy back to herself. The pathology has not come back yet. She is still a little groggy.
  14. That is at least 2 more places to find a clean restroom in Paulding, I hope!
  15. Last I heard yesterday afternoon they had pushed her surgery back. I didn't want to call her and wake her up. I am sure I will hear this morning how it went. They never let you sleep in the hospital.
  16. The riots especially the Tulsa one are not part of the mainstream curriculum. The civil rights movement is not exactly ancient history. You hear people denying racism, condemning the KKK, yet the tit for tat memes that many share, are clearly racist. I guess they feel that they are defending themselves. I don't have to defend anything other whites do. No person or organization will get unconditional support from me. What we have now is civil unrest and we are all involved whether we want to be or not. I see a lot of willingness to fuel those fires behind keyboards.
  17. Rm has been in pain for a couple of months. There is a large growth pressing on her sciatic nerve. She is having an operation to remove it tomorrow. The pain has been intolerable for the last few weeks that they were testing. Please pray for a good outcome. And that she does not kill me for posting this.
  18. It was a pretty good editorial. What I think she left out are the 24 hr live news networks. It takes a lot of content to fill 24/7. The opinion pieces, so-called experts, and endless hype over the smallest thing fuels a lot of the tension. I have set my google news feed to show the news outlets I trust. I don't read opinion or editorials most of the time. That feed changes very little over 24 hrs and sometimes longer. At the most, it is an hour of reading. My news sources, for the most part, give it to me straight. I make up my own mind. There are social medias where anything goes even
  19. We have known for a long time that these symbols cause our black sisters and brothers pain. When we proudly display these symbols it is a slap in the face to them. As a rule, people are ashamed when they do something wrong. These symbols don't reflect shame, they reflect pride in a way of life that was cruel to our black brothers and sisters. I am seeing memes that suggest we tear down any monuments of Dr.King or president Obama. This is exactly what the white supremacist want a tit for tat that grows into a race war that they are preparing to win. I see black lives matter being broug
  20. I am willing to support any moderate Republican or Democrat. Extremism is going to be the downfall of this country. I still don't believe that Trump is a Republican and never will. I don't think he is a decent human being on any level. It is not a matter of his political beliefs it is the absolute knowledge that this is not a moral human being and we will pay dearly as a country for electing this man as leader. We have not had an immoral leader placed over us by an army or birth right. The free world will hold this over our heads.
  21. I am willing to bet there is going to be a big show of kicking Bannon out of the White house. It will not negate the fact that he brought him in as an advisor. That is a clear message to the alt right that he supports them. As far as I am concerned Trump represents the worst of America. He has validated the belief that all things wrong with the USA are in shades of brown and are non-Christian.
  22. Gosh, he addressed the problem with Mexicans and the problems Muslims. I guess they assume he is going to clean house on black folks next. Anyone that has read or listened to the far right extremist are well aware of the list of people destroying America. Black Americans have been at the top of the list for their abuse of the welfare system as long as I can remember. The Jews are now in the cross hairs based on the Trumps hatred of the free press. They keep quoting him and showing old video of him. This causes people to criticize him. This is what annoys me about the press BS, there is
