Warning, Would You Leave Your Kids Alone in a Store? Really Alone!
LPPT replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I am not taking up for the dad in the OP's post. But it reminded me of how I trained my son not to walk away when I was looking at things in the store. He was the worse. He was about 4 yrs long past the age when a child should be minding a parent. Every chance he got he snuck off in the store. I couldn't concentrate for watching him. He climbed out of the buggy constantly. It had been a particularly trying day. He was, as usual, doing his own thing as dad and I shopped. I had finally had enough, His dad was just turning to drag him back when I caught his hand and said I'm done let him go. -
I read an article many years ago about Chinese farmers using methane to cook, heat and light their huts. They used earthenware jars and tubing to utilize the methane. I can't understand why it is not used as power plants for farms or captured from our own backyard sewage systems. We know it is bad for the ozone layer. Renewables just are not popular here. There are a lot of smart people using renewables that they have created at home. They are somewhat secretive about it. It is interesting that we pay for so much water just to flush and clean with then just allow it to perk away. Then we spend

I was surprised when my son who graduated almost 5 years ago said that it was very common at NPH. I guess it will never end. Of course, kids tease and criticize most everything about each other. For many kids school is a hell they can hardly wait to leave. It will never stop until curriculum about behavior is created and taught early way before High school. We quit teaching kids that if they were mean they would go to hell, then punishment became a 3 day vacation at home. We have to do something.

People like to believe that people hoarding trash doesn't hurt anyone. Nobody wants to live around it. They say if you don't like it move. You can't move because no one will buy your property so you are stuck. You think that if you live on a lot of acreages it doesn't hurt anyone. We were land shopping in Polk, I can't tell you how many parcels we looked at and said no way due to surrounding landowners using their property as a dump. I don't want to have to look at it every day. The hoarders see value in everything then pile it up until it is rotted trash that will never be of use to anyon

I have bought a few things from them. Mostly to decorate my front porch. The store is very clean. If I am not mistaken they have a policy for vendors there. If you don't make a certain percentage over rent each month you have to give up your space. This is a good idea, it prevents vendors from junking up their spaces with junky, stinky, undesirable items. As far as the chair, you are usually buying something very old that may have been stored for many years in an attic or shed. If you can't handle what goes along with very old pieces stay out of the antique market. I have started with pieces

I start thinking about the garden on New Years. I just took down my lighted deer today. The stakes were frozen in the ground last week. My daffodils were up about 2 inches. I am making big changes this year. I have too much shade to grow vegetables and some flowers in the back. I am going to do more flowering shrubs and hostas. My bed I plant tomatoes in will be the only one in the back.

This is why it failed. The company they hired to manage it was a disaster. I never understood how that came about. I guess you spend taxpayers money differently than your own. The company that handled it had many clients some in different states. My memory is not what it once was. I believe they were getting paid above 100,000 a month to market our studio. They got paid for the entire run of the contract whether they ever brought in a dime. I was somewhat vocal about it at the time. There was no incentive for them to sell our studio over any of the others they managed. I don't think they sp

I have eaten it cooked that is why I said raw.

Raw sushi. For some reason, it freaks me out. Maybe it is because I have seen worms in raw fish flesh. On the other hand, I will eat steak so rare the inside is barely room temp. I don't eat hamburger meat. I ate it growing up but have not had it in years. Luckily I was never exposed to brains or chitlins. I would not entertain even the idea of eating either.

I was not a Hillary supporter. The could happen though is a pretty typical Republican problem. A lot of things could happen does not mean they will. My premium doubling is what actually is happening under Trump. You really are better than that statement you just typed.
-
I wanted to answer this because I know you really believe this. I was a Republican all my life. I was raised in that belief system. It went right along with our religion. Democrats were bad people. Most Democrats were black so it was tied to racism and religion. Basically the fabric of our lives. It was the Republicans on P.com that drove me away. Only second to Rush whom I listened to for years. It was a rant about the working class that made me turn him off forever. He sees the working class as a necessary evil that needs to go away and die when their usefulness is over. He is the ep

Paleeze you would crucify Jesus for being liberal. I know you love the government since the head of it takes orders from Breitbart and Rush. Your measuring stick is so far up where the sun don't shine you haven't had an independent thought in over a decade Bush spent tax dollars to fix 9/11 faster than it could be printed. He was the king of deficit creation. Just ask Haliburton what a great man he was.
-
A discussion is becoming impossible on here with the insults and name calling. As an independent, I watch for extremism and imbalances. There were so many projections and myths associated with this bill we will have to wait and see. What I do see is ignoring the deficit just like Bush did. It certainly does not address the concentration of wealth that is making the 1% as powerful as Gods in this country. All we can hope for is an investment in consumers, also known as employees. If not we are in for a rough ride. For those anti-government folks, this tax break is basically a very small rais

They are not banned. They can use them all they want. When their funding is cut they only have themselves to blame. This is not an isolated incident. Department heads that want to keep their jobs aren't talking to media about a lot of bizarre incidents. There is no limit to the collective lowering of the IQ in America's government. A certain segment of the population is cheering because it is being brought down to a level they can understand. They not only have a president that can't use big words, he won't allow the federal government to do so either. Every week we are dished up another pla

Dear-Judge---Letter-from-a-Decimated-Parent

I thought about you when I read the story about the child whose mother made him sick for years for medical attention. The father was denied custody. He had to watch as the mom made his son sick over and over. Even now he is fighting for custody. Why is it so hard to believe that there are terrible mothers out there damaging children. Way too many bring a man into the home that mistreats their children. As a society, we are left to deal with these damaged children. -
I find myself extremely annoyed by this article. The headline seems to say it all. Who do they want to pull in with this headline? Those that want to believe that black voters vote Democrat because they want government freebies. The article really does not support that assumption. It does support a belief by blacks that it is useless to vote as a minority in mostly Republican states. I feel their pain. The difference is that the NAACP felt that the chances were good enough that they went there and went to work. They helped black voters over the hurdles of voter suppression. Black voters can d

Bullying Start Young. But, Here Is Someone Speaking Out Against It.
LPPT replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
According to an investigation, this young man is the bully and his victims are fighting back. He has also received gifts and money. There are also allegations that he uses the N-word when confronting black students. -
The slush is getting deeper in my cul-de-sac. That is not a good sign. It means that means it has been snowing long enough to lower ground temps.. I hope everyone stays safe.

It is so wet it is falling straight down like rain. It is still melting on the concrete and dirt here. It is so pretty and a bonus when the streets don't become dangerous.

It breaks my heart. Cancer is a cruel disease. Children should not die it hurts too much.

I was just reading this. I guess we can assume that these men are admitting guilt or they wouldn't be fired. You have to wonder if it is so common at this level, just how common it might be in lower salaried workplaces. It must be a curse to have an appendage that influences you to risk so much. I know there are quite a few firings of men that watch porn on the job. My husband coming home fired for that is a deal breaker for me. I often get called out for wealth envy when I talk about wealth being about power. It is a shame that for many women that their bodies are still currency to climb

Missed this bit of scandal; why did they wipe the voting computers at KSU
LPPT replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I read about this a while back. I was really surprised it wasn't a bigger deal in the news. As far as I am concerned someone needs to do jail time. Our country is founded on voting for our leadership. This is most grievous.
