  1. Do you take credit cards for delivery?
  2. NAACP Negro College Fund Miss Black America Black history month BET
  3. I'm in trouble too. Just Google mapped and I'm on 6 miles away. This could make for a very tasty Friday night.
  4. Full retirement age for your age group is 67, so you have a few years. More if that goes up before you get there
  5. We didn't have a problem with SPMS and my nephew goes there now and loves it. But about 4-5 years ago Settlers Mill did get moved to Dobbins. Thankfully mine was out of Middle School by then.
  6. Lived in this sub for 9 years. Nice neighborhood. Some over the top neighbors but very few and there are a few of those no matter where you go. For the record, if you have high schoolers it has been rezoned to PCHS. Don't know if that will make a difference to you but there it is. All in all it's nice. It has actually trees as it is an older sub built before they clearcut to build.
  7. Thank you all for your note. I am SO glad to know we aren't the only ones with these things. I was beginning to get real worried.
  8. Do the rice thing. It worked for my kid's phone and he jumped in the pool with it in his pocket.

2 points on this. A - what you described is exactly how I totaled a car a few years ago (I was the one trying to inch out and got hit by a truck flying down the turn lane). B - It is really irritating when people say "get up earlier - leave earlier" because if we HAD been able to do that we would have to travel back in time. Since time travel has not been prefected we all just have to deal with being on the roads together.
  10. Please Please tell me you are kidding? It is a GAME. You can not possibly be serious about it. Now the "WOW, that's a low price" Is annoying. I refuse to aknowledge or even remember what they are advertising because I fear it might lead me to not shopping at what ever store or company they are advertising
  11. Face it nothing is going to help and he will get worse. I think they grow out of it at about 25 or so. At least that's what happened with my nephews. Mine is almost 19 and I'm still waiting. I will say that kicking his butt is a lot easier at 8 than it will be at 19 so you might want to keep that in mind. And as for the nap, try one for yourself when he starts up. Here Here and again much easier at 8 than at 19
  12. See that's what I think too. Tax them and solve the education shortfall issue. It is just like the lottery or the alcohol sales on Sunday areguments. If you don't want to play (or buy) then don't. But I will tell you THIS is the issue we should be yelling "it's for the kids".
  13. The point is, they raise property taxes and property owners have NO say. Then they have votes and revotes and revotes to get the SPLOSTs to pass. So they are firing teachers and building buildings that will have rooms with no teachers to utilize them. However, this post is about the teachers & admins using our children to try to shame the parents into "agreeing" to raise our taxes to save the teachers' jobs.
  14. Is there a website I can see one? Can't see youtube at work. Nevermind I found it. So let me get this straight. You would have to spend $35 for the base and then $25 and up for each "shell"? So for just one bag w/shell we would be out $60+? I don't THINK so. Or are the ones you do less expensive than the ones on the website?
  15. Guess we were posting at the same time. Yes that is what is happening. Same trick they pulled last time. "Oh the sky is falling, the kids are going to have to go split days, they won't have classrooms or books." So the parents fell for it and voted themselfves a tax increase and guess what? The schools weren't built, nonaccustial theaters were and secondary gyms. So the kids were used again to get the parents to vote for ANOTHER SPLOST. "It's for the kids." yeah right.
  16. This is just like when they used the kids to guilt the parents into voting for the SPLOST a couple years ago. I hope we haven't fogotten that fiasco. I would think you would be angrier at the BOE, teachers, schools for using your child(ren) via scare tactics to clear the way for raising taxes than them just telling the kids the possibilities. People they are conning us again. I just find it sick that they are using the kids to do it. I think any teacher that does that should be on the top of the list to go.
  17. I loved the last part of that article It won't be the first time. In January 2007, the church obtained a permit to picket the Marietta funeral of Army Capt. Hayes Clayton Jr., 29, killed in a Christmas Day explosion in Iraq. With an overflow crowd expected, the service had to be moved at the last minute to a bigger church a mile down the road. The Westboro contingent wasn't notified. They held their protest that day in an empty parking lot.
  18. I went ahead and signed up but have a question. I GOT a call last weekend as did my son. We were not signed up until a few minutes ago, that I know of. Was very glad to get it though.
  19. Someone mentioned that they had planned to have all these houses filled to spread the tax base. Even if families have not purchased the houses, someone owns them, right? So isn't this person/group/bank paying taxes on all the empty houses sitting in this county? Sounds like a win to me. Whoever owns the houses has to pay the taxes on them plus no one actually lives in them so no kids in the schools, no drivers on the roads, etc. Someone answer please. Am I completely wrong in this thought. Granted the people who are not living in the houses also are not here spending and contributin
  20. Okay, just so you don't feel too bad. Was it the Mustang between Hiram High & Hiram Sudie? I've done it too.
  21. How would a pre-paid help the kid establish credit? I think that is more what this particular parent is interested in, rather than just the gas. I think this because they mentioned have the child invest in real estate right out of college for which they would need a credit rating.
  22. Is the bold line regarding Hiram Sudie? It may have changed but I can assure you there were 50 mph signs when I lived in Emerald Pines several years ago. I can remember clearly but I think they were still there when I moved into Settlers Mill 9 years ago. I would be good with 50 if that's all we can get but having the strip in front of Sams (278) be 55 and Bill Carruth be 45 is nuts.

  24. The thing is it WAS 50 in the middle (from about where Bill Carruth to just before Davis Mill) and 45 on both ends as you approached 92 on one end and 61 on the other. Then nothing was said the 50 signs were just removed. At one point there remained a sign just before Settlers Mill subdivision that said Reduce Speed Ahead with the 45 sign closer to Davis Mill. That sign also diappeared. So does the signs disappearing mean the speed limit changed? Or is the part in the middle still rated at 50 just no one knows it? Aren't there several LEO's on here? Could any of you answer that/tho
