  1. I'd like to know what they consider an inappropriate answer to that question. I mean what are they going to do with that information? Write it down some where? Tell you no? That is crazy. Makes ya want to stuff it in a coffee can so you don't have to answer any stupid questions about your own money.
  2. 1. Contact the employer and the payroll company regarding the W2 discrepancy. 2. Your brother still must file as single but may claim her as a dependent if 1)he provided over 50% of her support 2)her taxable income was under $3500 3)she is a US citizen and 4)she lived in his home for the entire year 5)she is not filing a joint return with anyone.
  3. I would try Michael's in the sticker or scrapbooking section. You will probably find something there. Worst case scenario, I would buy a sheet of white foam and cut out clouds to affix to the plain journal. Just a suggestion...
  4. I spoke via FB to a friend in the Bahamas tonight and they are concerned that this will cause a large influx of illegal immigrants into their country and overpower their already stressed resources. Apparently, one third of the Bahamas' population is currently due to illegal immigration. She was asking for help for Haiti so that the people would remain within their own country. I had no idea that other countries were experiencing stressed resources due to illegal immigration.
  5. You are welcome! I'm studying for the CPA exam so it helps me to do tax questions!
  6. The clarification is that you should be claiming one exemption (for yourself) and zero dependents. If you were claiming your daughter you would be receiving two exemptions and claiming one dependent. Hope that helps.
  7. I didn't see one like this so I'll put it up here: It's a fast & easy "fake" quiche. 1 can corned beef hash 3 eggs 3 oz. cream cheese 1 c. shredded cheddar cheese a dash or curry powder In a glass dish (I use a glass pie pan)press the corned beef hash in as though it was a crust coming up on the sides and leaving the middle for filling. Sprinkle shredded cheddar on top of hash. With a mixer, mix cream cheese, eggs and dash of curry powder. Pour over cheese and hash. Microwave for 10 minutes, more if needed. Yummy!
  8. I know ya'll will have a blast! Wish I could make it but I have pneumonia. Hopefully, I'll be better next week to get my grandmother's photo restoration picture to you, if I need to come to Marietta that's no problem, just let me know. Have fun tomorrow night!
  9. The guy at Imperial China knew our names and where my husband worked after just one visit. Amazing. It makes you feel so welcome when they remember like that. It's like eating with friends.
  10. Exactly! It should be called "hint of oyster dressing"!
  11. My mother makes the most amazing oyster dressing with cornbread, celery, onions, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup and poultry seasoning. I can't wait to eat it!
  12. Sure! I used the one from the Publix ad last week. The only difference was I added cheese to the grits and some imitation crab, used milk instead of whipping cream and already prepared bacon instead of frying it myself. It was pretty good! Here's the link! Publix Shrimp with Grits
  13. My wedding band kind of wraps around my engagement ring but it goes on first, then my engagement ring, then an enhancer that my husband gave me for our first anniversary but I've had them all welded together, so its all one ring. My mom did this with her wedding and engagement ring when she got married almost 50 years ago. I thought it was a good idea so I did it too.
  14. I'm so sorry for your loss. He looks like he was a great guy.
  15. It was great! They were being so smug.
  16. My mother and grandmother used to take me every year to ride the pig and see Santa at Rich's. I remember it being cold when it was outside too. Also, remember the reindeer?! That was back in the 60's and 70's for me. I took my daughter a couple of times when it was at the festival of trees in the 90's.
  17. Save as 2003 compatible and you should be able to make changes. You will have to "open for editing" though before you can make changes I think.
  18. MONEY! Always money. Start putting it away now.
  19. In grew up in this town. My family knows this family. So sad.
  20. My grandmother from Iowa used to say the thing about the caterpillars crossing the road too.
  21. Stamp Creek and Wilderness Marina off of Canton Hwy in Cartersville has a good ramp and usually isn't crowded, plus if the grill is open its nice to eat there after a day on the lake. : ) Have fun. I'll be out there too. We keep our boat at Park Marina now but we used to keep it at Wilderness.
