  1. I have heard this statement several times. My response is to explain that the professionals in the ER or at the accident scene, etc, have as their objective to do whatever is necessary to save that persons life. It is not in their thoughts or oath to let someone die just to harvest their organs. Their agenda is totally different from the agenda of the transplant team. It is their job to assure the organs (once donated)go to the person who is in the worst need and/or is the closest thing to a perfect match. This is a discussion very close and dear to my heart. I am thrilled to see so many
  2. In Alabama there are postcards available to report incidents such as this. You write down the tag number and vehicle description. You provide the approximate age and sex of the child/ren. It has a multiple choice section where you check if they are standing in the front/back seat of the vehicle, sitting in the passenger or drivers lap, moving around in the vehicle, etc, etc, etc. It is a postage paid postcard that goes to the authorities. The person who the vehicle is registered to receives a letter informing them they have been observed breaking the law. If the same vehicle is reported three
  3. Sure, there will be plenty. The only problem is it is DH's late night and he doesn't get home until almost 9:00!
  4. Taco Casserole (topped with onions, sour cream, cheese & picante sauce) Mexican Fiesta Rice Rolls Lemon Meringue Pie.
  5. You could do a 3 strand and have two boys names on two of them and then give that precious little girl a strand to herself. I have one that I've had for about 12 yrs with DD and DS names on it. I would like to do something with the DGD's and "NANA" maybe. I absolutely LOVE the bracelet you donated to the Concert for the Cure that I was fortunate enough to get. Actually DD got it for me and it was my Mother's Day gift last year. (Hard to believe that has been a year, huh?) But,I could start a new tradition and get a new bracelet from you every Mother's Day. HOW SWEET!!!!
  6. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Sorry you didn't get your pink slip but you will be Blessed with a precious "baby boy". Mine is 19 and is STILL my "baby boy" and always will be.
  7. I don't expect to see her on Idol but my bet is this is not the last we have seen/heard of her. BEAUTIFUL voice and comes across as a really sweet lady. I wish her lots of luck and look forward to hearing more from her. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Just another tidbit of advice. IF you do pursue criminal charges and IF she were to approach you and ask to work something out with you by giving you a "down payment" DO NOT TAKE IT! Once you have accepted money from her on the debt you can no longer go after her criminally. She could give you a small amount of money and even give you a contract saying she will pay you the balance in 30 days.........and do nothing more than the small initial payment. Been there, done that and accepted a $1700 "downpayment" - got screwed out of $3500!!!
  9. Sounds interesting - I have never tried that mixture. What do you batter it in??? I have fried green tomatoe cubes with okra and then I make a squash, onion and potato dish but don't use any batter with that one.
  10. I make Lemon Meringue and it is SOOOOO easy: Crust: Nilla Vanilla Wafers Butter (1-2 Tbsp) Lemon Juice I run the vanilla wafers through my salad shooter to get them crushed. Melt butter and add to the crushed vanilla wafers. Add lemon to taste. Mix well and mash into pie pan. Pie: I can Condensed Milk 2 egg yokes Lemon juice to taste (I typically use the lemon concentrate that is in the plastic lemon and just squirt and taste it until it is lemony enough.) Mix well and pour into pie pan. Meringue: 2 egg whites from the eggs to use the yoke in the pie. Beat until still
  11. Yes that is what I used. There were some in last week's Rite Aid sales paper but Kroger also accepts the ones printed off the Rite Aid website. They accept any and all pharmacy coupons, including the ones for K-Mart. But, those are usually only for NEW prescriptions so I use those coupons at K-Mart (I actually have one now for a New prescription and one for a New or Transferred prescription) and then next time I have them refilled I transfer to either RA or Kroger and then the next month to the other. I get to use 3 coupons in 3 months for one prescription that way. It sure does help out. We u
  12. Parmesan Chicken Wings Homemade Tater Skins Baked Beans Rolls Lemon Pie - I've been wanting to make it for a week and finally think I am gonna do it.

I don't use it although the software is downloaded onto my laptop. DS and all of his friends have it and use it daily since he's been in Orlando. They all love it. Prior to him leaving he was talking to his neices about moving away. He was telling them they could talk on the computer and see each other while they talked, trying to reassure them he would still be close in heart and could see them. My youngest DGD (5 yrs old) said, "That's just WEIRD". LOL. Outta the mouth of babes, but it is Jetsons-esque to me.
  14. Since I haven't been able to cut coupons in almost 2 yrs I don't get to contribute to the savings threads. BUT.........today I picked up two prescriptions transferred to Kroger and used two of the Rite Aid Pharmacy coupons. So, I had $50 put on my Kroger card and we bought groceries. My total bill due?? $2.74!!! We got a buggy FULL of groceries for less than $3.00. Of course, I had to pay $60 in co-pays but I would have to spend that regardless. WOOOO-HOOOO
  15. WOW - That is TERRIBLE and I hate it you are having to go through this. Good Luck!!

  17. That is GREAT - what a Wonderful opportunity for this young man. We had a friend go to the Eagles after playing for the Patriots for 4 yrs. He was a standout at Alabama, too. At the time he was the highest paid halfback in the NFL. We have been Eagles fans ever since and will be watching for him in the upcoming seasons.
  18. Mine are, too, but it all three of them. I enjoyed listening to the rain during the night.
