  1. OH NO!!! Hope you feel better real SOON!!! You know 'Dega is only five days away!!!!!!!!
  2. DH and I have watched every episode in the 8 yrs "24" has been on the air.......and are sadly counting down the last 6 hours. Filming of the final episode wrapped up last week. We look forward to the full length moving coming out. Even if I did not like the storyline of "24" I would watch it just to see an hour of Kiefer. He is EASY on the eyes.
  3. Sounds yummy. Were your tomatoes fresh or canned? You'll have to let us know how it turns out.
  4. Child Support is not payment to see a child. However, IF he pays child support and continues to have parental rights to the child you need to be prepared for him to want to see the child - or even fight you for custody - at some point down the road. The things he says today (regardless if they are in anger or if he really means it) are not a binding commitment that he will leave you and your child alone. It might be several years down the road and he could decide he wants to have a relationship with his child and the courts could support him in doing so. With that said, if he has said he
  5. Briarpatch Special. DH late night and Jack Bauer Power Hour. No time to clean up so he is bringing it home. But, I am going to make the homemade peach cobbler for dessert I didn't make Saturday night.
  6. I watched some of it - during commercials of the Alabama "A" Game. I have it on DVR but haven't watched it yet. But, I did see Taylor Swift and was not impressed, as usual. Actually had to find online who won EOY. I did see Lady A walk away with several awards. I was surprised they beat Rascal Flatts although I do like their music.
  7. I AGREE!! It happens a good bit to me and can be so frustrating. If people decide they don't want the item or money is tight just let me know. Life happens. But to keep me hanging?????? I want to sell most of what I have in stock right now (REALLY CHEAP) because I want to restock. But, without these items being picked up and the money for them I cannot buy new merchandise. And, Subby, I think your post was very tactful and something you had to say up front to prevent hard feelings later. Busines is Business.
  8. THANKS, too. I've been wondering and definitely want to get by there.
  9. HOW SAD!!! My thoughts and prayers will be with his family, loved ones and friends. May God give them the comfort and peace that only He can.
  10. FINALLY there is a WINNER - a well deserved victory. That is one of those games where you hate to see someone lose. But, eventually someone HAD to! LOL. It was funny how they were using position players as pitchers. You know they are drop dead exhausted. It is a good thing they are scheduled to play tomorrow night and not tomorrow afternoon. WHEW!
  11. And the score is ZERO - ZERO and has been played going on 6 hours!!! St. Louis is using their 9th pitcher and the current pitcher has played shortstop, 3rd base and is now pitching in THIS game. I have NEVER in my life seen a game like this. Interesting. These poor players are SOOOOOO tired.
  12. THANKS. I meant to tell you I don't always add that much water. Just depends on how much "juice" I want in my cobbler. Sometimes I don't add but about 1/4 cup and sometimes I don't add any. Just whatever mood I am in. LOL. I will definitely be trying your slaw recipe for something different. I am always on the lookout for something different but not "too far out there". LOL. Uh Ohhhhhhhhhhh..........I fell asleep watching the Braves game. This menu will have to wait until another night.
  13. My peach cobbler is the simpliest of recipes but oh so good!!! Melt 1 stick of butter in casserole dish. (I actually cook mine in an old metal dish that was my mothers/grandmothers) In separate bowl mix 1 cup each: sugar (I use Splenda and you never know it), milk and flour. Mix well. Place a large can of sliced peaches in light syrup in pot on stove and add 1/2 cup water. Heat until boiling. (It also works well with fresh peaches in water when they are in season!!) I have also made it with frozen strawberries. YUMMMMM. Once the butter is melted, pour the flour/milk/sugar mixt
  14. I missed it But, I agree with Joe - you are a pretty amazing person and a lot of fun to hang out with.
  15. Country Fried Steak & (cooked in) Gravy Mashed Potatoes Stir Fry Cabbage (with bacon & onion) Rolls Homemade Peach Cobbler topped with Cool Whip
  16. I agree. He/she "chose" to commit the crime and they were found guilty by 12 of their peers who had all the evidence layed out in front of them, debated and explained. IF additional information, witnesses, DNA, etc were presented in the time period since the trial (sometimes this can be 20 or so years later.) that would be different. And, I agree with the poster who said the prisoner finding God while in prison or being the perfect prisoner should not be taken into consideration. I will never be in the situation to have to do this but IF I had been elected Governor I would have known this coul
  17. That sounds good, will have to try it. DH uses Dale Sauce on almost everything. Sometimes he will marinate it in Dale's before grilling. Other times just season with lemon pepper and garlic salt and after it starts to cook brush with BBQ sauce each time you turn it.
  18. THANK YOU Next week is fine whenever it is convenient. No rush. I can understand that - not to mention yard sales are HARD WORK and although I know you and Charlie don't mind the work it will be nice for you to do other fundraisers, too. I will just put what I come across in a box and hold on to it until DH starts to complain. (You know I run into that problem from time to time. ) But, he won't complain TOO much when I tell him I am saving it for you and Charlie.
  19. What is that??? Don't you have to prove a hardship??? My friend is a teacher and her husband works for the government so I don't know that she could prove a hardship. They are both employed and this is something that she has not had in YEARS. It would be like 10 yrs old and definitely more than 7 from what she said. I am going to give her all the info from this thread with what sounds like good advice. She was getting a copy of her credit report to see if it even still shows up on there. The people just sent her a letter out of the blue.
  20. I don't know that I can get down there (gotta check on a ride), but IF you don't see me please put aside a couple of those bags of peanuts for me. If I do come I'll bring some food for the pantry, too. ***hijack*** Are you going to be having your yard sales this spring/summer? I am going through the "Lowman Store" and will have some things for ya if you are. ***endofhijack***
