LGM your post made me think of my oldest son... he was born with Asthma... when he would have his attacks of coughing, and wheezing, my doctor told me to do the same thing with the running the shower for steam in the bathroom... I would also be out at 2 in the morning if it was really foggy walking around with my son to help him breath. he lived under a tent when he was little in and out of the hospital. Then finally came home with a neublizer Go Blue Doctors will have their opinions on how to raise your child. however you as a father know what is best for your son, if he sleeps

sometimes it just has to work its course, you do not won't him to stop coughing, if he does all the crud in his little chest will tighten up and then he will wheeze and then you will be going back to the doctor. coughing is the best thing for him to keep it loose so he does not get worse. Try not to give him milk right before bed, it thickens the mucus in his chest. I hope he feels better soon, having a little one with a cough is no fun for anyone.
