Has anyone heard any update about the attempted vehicle break-in at Academy Sports and the victim witnessing this just happens to be armed and shot a tire out of the thieves' vehicle.....and the vehicle took off headed west on 278?

My guess would be Cymbidium orchids. I thought maybe Peruvian lilies but it looks like they only have one stamen and the Peruvians have 6.

Today we attended the Public Safety Appreciation festival with our 7 yr old grandson. What a wonderful day it was! I feel so fortunate to have these fine men and women protecting us in Paulding County. Everyone we talked to; asked questions of; etc., were more than happy to talk and answer any questions we had (regardless of how silly our questions probably were). There was great representation of all branches of public safety - state and local - county, cities, state, private sector (medical helicopter and water rescue); it was just a great day! Still not sure who enjoyed it more - us or

It is 1.25 miles around the entire track (both sides).

Sounds like it might be Smilax (Greenbrier, deer thorn, catbrier). Does it look like this? If so, go to www.caes.uga.edu site and search for publication on "Controlling Grenbrier"

Tilapia Florentine Sprinkle some cajun spice over fish (not too much but it does add flavor). Saute in olive oil. Remove fish and keep warm. In same pan, add finely chopped fresh garlic and chopped red onion. Cook in oil until soft (try not to brown it). Add bag of FRESH baby spinach and stir until spinach has wilted. Make a bed on the plate with spinach and add fish on top. Top with chopped tomato. That's it.

There is no way in the world that Whole Foods would ever put a store in Paulding County or 278 in Cobb

If you have ever considered using a groomer who comes to your home I would recommend K9 Bath Time (owner and groomer April Irons). We used her for several years for our Golden Retriever (who succumbed to cancer in December). She is fantastic, will groom as you request and her fees are no more than any other groomer. It only took a bit over an hour to groom our 115 lb. Golden and he always looked beautiful. She has a website with all of her prices listed for whatever breed you may have.

Across from Hardy Chevrolet; Dallas Highway at Macland Road. Not the Villas but the subdivision behind there on the hills.

The fire has been extinguished. The fire department remains on site taking care of hot spots. The house may have been a two-story - hard to tell at this point; the roof is gone but walls remain. There was/is a van in the garage which has burned beyond recognition. Ambulances are still on scene and tending to firefighters' needs (GOOD JOB!).

We have a fully engulfed house fire in the Evans Mill Subdivision. The house is located on Crestview Drive. Two ambulances and one supervisor entered the neighborhood about 10 minutes ago. There were several explosions about 20 minutes ago but all seems quiet now. We are one street over. For awhile, the house was unrecognizable - major flames coming through the garage doors. Don't know anything now - doesn't look good.

Well, reading the blogs this morning, most agree that Ralph should still be in and Kirstie out (based on true dancing ability). But Kirstie gets a lot of support because of her "issues". Lots of people just don't like Mark's attitude which will hurt Chelsea; but because of Chelsea's affiliation with Disney (which owns DWTS) and the judges' unanimous independent decision to give them the extra points, could put Chelsea and Mark in the win. BUT, Hines has an unbelievable fan base. He also had zero prior dance experience (which is supposed to be part of the judging). Maybe the Ralph suppor

We bought our king set at Original Mattress Factory one year ago today. We got their top of the line product - Orthopedic Euro Top King. The original price was $1479 plus $45 for delivery. We were able to purchase a foor model and saved 10%. Delivery and installed total price was $1385. This has been the most comfortable sets we have ever had. We have several friends who bought there too and their recommendations directed us to OMF. There are so many qualities to the product it's hard to believe the prices. You should at least take a look.

I do understand about the time. We have a lawn service also and have some brown patch. The service seems to use just their "standard" applications and don't address the specific problem(s). Regretfully not all lawn services have staff that can diagnose problems and advise on proper treatment. If you can, you should take a few really close up pics of the dead/dying area and possibly pull up a small chunk of the grass with roots. Take it to the Paulding Co. Extension Office and let them have a look at it. They may be able to helpdiagnose the problem and what you should use to treat it

It could be a number of things. First, have you ever had a soil test to determine what, if any, nutrient deficiencies there are? A soil test is crucial for proper application of fertilizers and other additives to maintain a soil pH level of 5.5 - 6.0. It could be brown patch (most common in Georgia). Disease causes rings and patches anywhere from 5" to 10' in diameter. It also causes smoke rings which are thin brown borders around the dead spot that appear mostly in the morning. This disease is usually betwesen April thru Oct. Heavy use of nitrogen increases the susceptibility to brow

Let me start out by saying I am truly sorry for the unnecessary loss of life. However, what is it going to take to get folks to SLOW DOWN on Macland Road - mainly in the early morning hours! I travel that route daily around 6am and by the time I reach Powder Springs I say a little prayer myself, thankful that I made it to that point in my journey downtown alive and safe! Before you get to New Macland Road, the posted speed limit is 45. I am in the minority of those who are even near that speed. I have been passed numerous times at cross streets and on double yellow. I have seen v
