  1. Bridal gown shop. Years ago I was actually able to rent one for a costume. You may want to try a vintage clothing shop - there's one on the Marietta Square.
  2. Glad to know I didn't make a fool of myself. I'll await my gold star. Surprise right back at ya:)
  3. I'll try. A rolling meth lab basically means the lab is mobile. Instead of the product being manufactured in a house, building, trailer, motel room, tent, whatever, it is set up in the back of a vehicle (usually a van, station wagon, SUV, etc.). The product could be in its raw form (unmixed chemicals); it could be finished product; partially cooked - basically the same operation that would take place in a fixed location. That being said, it could explode at any time, anywhere the transport is located. That's why the need to shut down the interstate until the chemicals can be stabilized AN

    Walking?

When/If it re-opens, Ben Strickland park in downtown Hiram is really nice. 3-1/2 laps around equals 1 mile. The track is crushed rock. Regretfully with last month's flood, the portion of the path which is also the dam for the pond, was compromised and there was a leak. They closed that portion and it looks as if they may have closed the entire thing. But, when it does re-open it's very nice and safe. I do Silver Comet from Hiram to Cobb Co. line and back about 2-3X per week. It's a good walk and also very safe in that area.
  5. I am sooooo glad to see that Dr. Robert E. Lee has been referred by several of you. We have our first appointments with Dr. Lee beginning tomorrow and have been unable to find any references for him. Perfect timing!
  6. Rec'd my tax bill also. We moved from Cobb to Paulding three years ago (to downsize). What kills me is the house in Cobb is valued at $100,000 more than our current house and the 2009 taxes are $100 MORE in Paulding. What do we get for all of those taxes? Sorry, but there is NO comparison to the services you receive in Paulding vs. Cobb. The homestead exemption rebate caused taxes to increase $290. It is very discouraging to say the least. I read PCOM and have learned some of the history of former county leadership - is that where the problem began? Is anyone watching the hen house?
  7. Are you saying that Paulding County has done away with the Homestead Exemption? Did I miss something??? How do you CONTACT your Commissioner? I sent an EMail to the Board about 3 weeks ago and haven't heard a word back. Can't even confirm that the message was opened. I am a 3 year Paulding Co. resident now and have heard that it isn't unusual for the Commissioners to ignore the voters (unless it's election time, of course). Is that true?
  8. Deac and InMourning - I DO feel your pain. I lost my 29 year old son on November 11, 2001 of cardiac dysrythmia. No words can make the hurt in your heart feel better - only time will ease the ache, the void, the anger, the loss. There's not a day goes by that I don't think of my son Patrick and try to reason why. My pain is part selfishness because he was MY son and his place is with ME and his family (two sons). I visit Patrick's grave often to feel closer to him and each time seems like it has just happened. You will never forget your son - only (hopefully) learn to cope with the
