My soon to be 13 year old would had to have come up with much better explanation than that! That wouldn't have cut it with us. He'd watch it on the net at home if he'd have done this. (which is what we did do since school was out here today.) And I think he'd also do the accompanying info from the edu.gov website.

  I woudn't expect anything different!

Not to mention hyperbole.

Wow, good job there with those jabs Naturegirl! Oh, but I'm sure they were actual subliminal ones - I mean, you would never do such a thing consciously. Nope - never said no one else could understand it. Was stating the fact that we had to study a good bit about this in college for my degrees, that's all.

I think it's an interesting topic when properly understood in context and application. We had to study it in college - my B.S. is in advertising and marketing. It does not turn people into numb, mindless, non-reasoning zombies. It isn't a magic. And along these lines is yet another reason why we talk and debate ideas/opinions/beliefs in our household a great deal. I firmly believe in teaching my son about using logic, reason, discernment and discrimination -- as well as about the subconscious/ unconscious mind. As well as many other concepts and theories.

Really? I thought he was telling them to drop in, drop out, and make love not war.

This is what I take for my immune system: ~ Astragulus - this is an herb, I take it one capsule, 3x a day. ~ Beta-Glucan - 1 capsule a day In general for allergies / colds / etc: ~ Neti pot nasal washes -- at least 3x a day Homeopathic Remedies: ~ Oscillococcinum, by Boiron [they have a $2 off coupon on their website - they sell it at most Walgreens.] http://www.oscillo.com/ ~ Sambucol: Black Elderberry Cold & Flu relief Tablets [there is usually a $3 off coupon inside the box.. just pop it open, and use - they sell it at most Walgreens.]

We're having one of our Family Sushi Nights tonight. YUMMMMMMY! We've gotten pretty darn good at quite a few sushi rolls.... and it's so much fun! "The OAK-FEE-NOKE" - a roll we've made up.

We have it in S. GA., including the schools. We're being proactive at our household - hand-washing galore. Also, we are beefing up our immune system, and have homeopathic remedies ready otherwise.

I hope she's able to get the help / support she needs. At this young age, she desperately needs to finish her education. Absolutely breaks my heart. Another added to the teen pregnancy rate in GA. So very sad.

Glad he's home LPPT! Great news!

I think that the "key" is going to be some sort of major immune/auto-immune response trigger. So, maybe if not vaccines, then possibly a childhood disease/illness with high fevers, or one that compromises/challenges the immune system in a major way.

There is no ONE cause of autism. There just isn't. I think what we're going to end up finding out, one day, is that there is a genetic switch, and or genetic-possibility present in some people -- and that it gets "turned on" (so to speak) by a variety of factors or reasons. Much like we've figured out that some people have that "genetic-possibility/probability" for breast-cancer. I really wish that people (on both sides of the argument) wouldn't zero in on vaccinations solely for the reason that they "cause autism." I think that misses a huge section of reasons on the con side of

I'm sorry for your loss. -
Now, see, you were able to present your reasoning without going off the deepend and suggesting tinfoil hats. I knew that you could do it! And if you weren't one of my fav peeps, I wouldn't have bothered to express my feelings to you! I hope that you and that lovely Mrs of yours have something yummy to eat and drink for the holiday! And thanks for taking the time to share more from your POV. P.S. Instead of the vaccinations, my family will be using Homeopathic Nosodes instead. I'm currently beefing up on last years nosode for the flu, and am waiting the one for the 2

We're hanging here at the house.... my Mom is worse today, so we have her in bed -- which means we're all having to be more hands on with Dad. But, we did get our inflatable "HAIRY DAWG" up in the front yard, and I think we'll grill out and hoop and holler this afternoon around game time. Otherwise, we're enjoying beautiful S. GA. weather -- and hoping that my Mom gets to 'better days' very, very soon.

Surepip -- I respect you and consider you a friend, actually. But you know what? You don't have to be a complete asshole when you disagree with folks. I've witnessed this several times recently with you and it's not becoming in the least. I am not ignorant, I'm not some lowlife who believes every alarmist, schizo thing that is posted on Youtube or forwarded to me in emails. And you know, I have and will continue to disagree with you on numerous points, but I don't have to do so by degrading you, nor your beliefs, in the process. It really takes away from you the man, who is extreme

The part that is scary is: "During the 1976 swine flu scare in the U.S., which prompted the government to order a mass vaccination program to cover the entire population, the vaccine caused more deaths than the actual virus, prompting a public backlash that cost the then director of the CDC his job." Regardless, I won't be getting the shot.

Ugh. I don't know what the answer is -- but this seems so brutal and disrespectful to life. Gross. -
Looks like you had a great time!

Good Friday morning everyone........

This is exactly what I was expecting. There was no indication that she was even in the segment of patients to have bone cancer. I'll be interested to see what else it did show, however. What information it can give us towards the diagnosis we already had, the status of her arthritis, pelvis bones /strength, etc. Thank you QST for your thoughts and prayers. All have been appreciated by my family and I. -
Completely depends upon which culture/religion/geographic-location you're a part of or from. The Full Moons of the year each have many names. And it was actually full in the wee hours of this morning.

I hope they are able to help the young man. That could be a hard burden to bear for him, due to other people's religious projections upon him. I know there is a little girl that has the same condition / ailment / gift, whichever you wish to call it. -
