  1. Academy Sports in Hiram does it. They seem to have a pretty well trained staff on bows and such.
  2. No, 275 is the width of the tire in millimeters. 60 is the height of the tire, in percentage to the width (from the outer tread to the bead). The numbers work the way you stated when you are dealing with standard tires, like 31/10.50R16 etc. On metric tires, the first number is the width of the tire. A 275/65R17 is a TALLER tire... not wider, than a 275/60R17.
  3. The $10 parking fee is only for on-site parking. If you use one of the remote sites and use the shuttles, the parking is free.
  4. This should be something that should be handled like a "no trespassing" sign in your yard. If you are on the "No Call" list for both federal and state, if one of them calls, you should be able to press criminal trespassing charges against them. If you think about it, being on the "Do not call" list is kind of like having a non-court ordered restraining order. If they were fined $10,000 every time they called someone who is on the lists or has asked to be taken off, they might start paying attention to the law.
  5. The vendor for whom the software is on the MDT's may combine all those searches in to one search for the officer and it may be seamless to the officer... I don't know how it works on the backend. I do know, that when a deputy enters the VIN information at Paulding SO, all the data I listed is returned.
  6. I wasn't speaking anything about checking all 50 states at one time for a stolen vehicle. I was talking about getting a registration return to see if it was registered currently or previously. That's what I said... and that is what can be done on an MDT or through GCIC. I never said anything about checking for a stolen vehicle. I can put the VIN number in and it will return the registration, no matter what state it's registered in. It will return the registered owner, the insurance company, and the valid date of the tag (if it has one issued).
  7. A title bond is nothing more than an insurance policy that you are buying. Basically, if it comes back as stolen or a problem with the title, the insurance would pay for your loss. Any insurance agent should be able to help you with this. It's the same thing as title insurance on a house, when you purchase one. If it's going to be a hunting camper and not transported and a deputy signed off on it... I honestly wouldn't worry too much about it. Get the title insurance and use the form the deputy gave you and get it titled and use it. Keep a copy of the form the deputy signed off on
  8. I can tell you that the MDT's in the Paulding SO patrol cars WILL return out of state registration information.
  9. You need to be careful on one aspect though... just because it's never been titled doesn't mean anything. The manufacturer will issue what is called an MSO (Manufacturer's State of Origin). This is essentially the original title that has to be turned over to the title office to get your ownership title. If you were to purchase this on a Bill of Sale and get it titled in your name, and someone comes up with the MSO that hasn't been processed... it now belongs to them and you are SOL. This is definitely where you want to get it bonded.
  10. \ If she went through Paulding's Sheriff's office, it checks GCIC and NCIC and it most definitely returns registration information.
  11. Paulding County Noise Ordinance Sec. 46-61. General prohibition. It shall be unlawful for any person to create any unreasonably loud, disturbing and unnecessary noise within the unincorporated area of the county. Noise of such character, intensity or duration as to be detrimental to the life or health of any individual, or in disturbance of the public peace and welfare, is prohibited. (Res. No. 98-13, § 13-8(A), 6-23-1998) I believe the criteria is that if it can be heard either 100ft or 150ft away, it's violates the noise ordinance. I don't remember which distance it is...but it
  12. Call the non-emergency line for the Sheriff's Office, as stated before and as for a "VIN verification." A deputy will come by and run the VIN and tell you if it's clear or not.
  13. I can't stand the man, but I can certainly give him credit where it's due. He definitely deserves the credit for helping get the internet where it is today... which is available to the public. But to say he "created it" in ANY fashion, is simply false. He did not create it for public use. It was already created. The key word is "Created" Create means to make something. He didn't make anything or have anything to do with the actual development. If I design and build a new style rifle platform that the military buys and uses, I created it. If the military restricts me in
  14. Yes, they will strike... A typical black snake (king snake) will actually coil up and wiggle his tail to try to make you think he's a rattler... and will strike if backed in to a corner. Most all snakes, venomous or not, are not confrontational and will flee if they have the change. They only strike when they feel cornered and have no way to escape.
  15. Actually, no he didn't... he had nothing to do with inventing it. What he DID have something to do with is opening it up to commercial use. He was one of the co-authors of the High Performance Computing Act in 1991. The base of the internet was created in the 50's and has evolved over the years. It has gone through multiple infrastructures and has been revised many times. In 1991, he co-authored the bill that allowed the internet. which was previously used by the military and government, to be opened up to the education system (NREN). It was then broadened out past the militar
  16. Oh... yeah, my bad... I'm not a bow hunter, so I never remember that primitive weapons don't fall under that. During regular 'gun' season, you aren't required to have a weapons license. You are correct, during primitive season, you are. I don't understand the logic in purchasing muzzle loaders vs. cartridge firearms. Like you said, it makes no sense.
  17. It doesn't have to be a game warden. It's highly unlikely a 'regular' police officer or sheriff's deputy would ever write a ticket for it, but they all are able to write that ticket. It's a state offense.
  18. You don't need a book. It's pretty simple for snakes in Georgia. If it's got a triangular shaped head, it's a viper... all the venomous snakes in Georgia are vipers, except for the coral snake. The coral snake is a pretty easy snake to identify because of the multi-color bands. It's unlikely you'll ever run across a coral snake in your back yard.
  19. All non-venomous snakes in Georgia are protected. If it was a non-venomous snake he probably did. If it was a venomous snake (copperhead, rattlesnake, cotton mouth, or coral snake) it was not illegal to kill it.
  20. Just an FYI... You do not have to have a weapons permit to carry a handgun while you are hunting, as long as you have a valid hunting license and are hunting on legal grounds with the permission of the land owner.
  21. +1 If you've put larger tires on the vehicle, such as many people do to trucks, you will be driving faster than your speedometer shows. Also, I wouldn't rely on those roadside radar signs too much. While they are fairly accurate, they are not held to the calibration standards as the police radar are held too. They are put on the roadside for awareness... not total accuracy..
  22. That is definitely a Red Tail Hawk... and it's not a juvenile. The head feathers on juveniles are light colored... That is an adult.
  23. So, they thought he was deceased and they sent HIM a letter telling HIM (who is supposedly deceased) that he wasn't going to get any more benefits? ROFL! I'm sorry, but that is just damn funny. If I thought someone was deceased, I don't think I would sent that person a letter. LOL ...and people want the government MORE involved in our lives! LOL...
  24. No, not next.... believe it or not, it's already happened. Saw it on the news a couple of months back... same name, "Hunter." They were telling him he couldn't attend school because his name portrayed violence. School systems are ridiculous with their politically correct crap.
