    Now that we've had a natural disaster on the same level as the Tsunami in Indonesia, where's Bill? We need his fund-raising ability to go overseas to get funds to overcome this disaster.

    What is going on at the high school (PC) this morning?  Lots of deputies, and they are not allowing the children to go into the trailers.

    My cousin called me, my kid rode the bus this morning, does anyone know what is going on?

    It is true. Unless the restaurant has a patio. People under 18 can not be exposed to smoke in a restaurant that went smoking after the Governor signed the bill. It is either non-smoking or smoking and no one under 18 is admitted.

     

    EXCUSE ME? :o  Anybody made a call to find out about this, IF this is true they will not get another dollar of mine becasue only time I eat there is when Payton is with me n the first place.

    Oh, Pointy, I am so there with you. Insanity. Pure insanity.

     

    Somehow I just can't seem to find the energy to get off my wallet for this "cause".

     

    Especially when the King foundation rakes in millions each year for licencing fees for MLK materials.

    I just got home from the funeral.

     

    What a special life Jana lived. We should all be so nice that we could be remembered like this young lady was today.

    Yes, free speech gives us the right to say anything. There is no line.

     

    My whole point here though is "Where is the line?"  Does free speech give us the right to say ANYTHING? 

     

    There was a billboard in the county recently which caused a big stir because it had a gay fireman on it.  The outrage was certainly apparent on this board and was soon taken down.  It wasn't even derogatory towards anyone!

     

    What is wrong with this picture?

     

    P.S.  Roswell - you probably didn't know it was Clay because the TV station didn't have his last name correct! ;)

    You know how I show my distaste, Meltid? I don't patronize the business. Lanzo is well within his free speech rights to place those words up on his sign. It is my choice whether or not I will support his business by giving him my hard earned money. Same goes for any establishment that would do the same.

     

    I have sat back and read and watched, vowing not to add fuel to the fire, or bring one more ounce of attention to "the sign."

     

    BUT, after seeing the clip on the news from the Commission meeting last night, I just have to point something out.

     

    Clay Mitchell, member of the NAACP (and longtime childhood friend) made a comment to the Commissioners and the audience that I think everyone should have heard. He asked what if this sign were about the flag or something that you felt strongly about?  Everyone here would be doing everything that you could to have it removed. 

     

    Think about it.  Free speech or not, what if this sign had a derogatory remark about our flag, our troops or even, God forbid, about our lost soldier?? What would you do?Would you still be crying free speech?  If this affected something you felt passionately about, would you then "fight the fight?"  Would the cost to the taxpayers matter then?

     

    I want to apologize to Clay and all of our county residents that have had to deal with this daily.  Quiet Man, how in the world can you keep "quiet?"  You're a better person than I could ever be.  If the tables were turned, I would be doing everything in my power to have it removed.  I'm afraid that I would not be able to show the integrity that you all have shown in being patient and trying to have this removed in the right way.

     

    On another note, there is a sign hosted by Northwest Exterminating at their office on Business 6/Merchants Drive.  They graciously allow anyone to put their message on their sign.  Their messages BENEFIT the community.  Please call them and thank them today. ~ Meltid

    Well, it is my opinion that parents that draw such a strong line in the sand lack common sense.

     

    To use your words, what I posted was not a slam. It was not personal. It was not directed at any one person. It was honest and to the point.

     

    I never said parents DIDN'T have the right to take their kids to this exhibit!

      I simply said I personally wouldn't take mine. It's MY OPINION however that parents who would choose to take their children are showing a lack of common sense, but don't turn this into an Armymom and SoapMom thing by implying I said something I didn't say :angry:

    Armymom, if a parent wants to take their child, that is their right as the child's parent just as it is your right to obstain. It doesn't mean that Soapmom is lacking in parental common sense. All it means is that she has a different set of values than you and there is nothing wrong about that.

    Is Melrose Hill Memory Garden the same as Rosemont Cemetery? The email I received says that his interment will be at Rosemont.

     

    PLEASE COME OUT AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT OF THE FAMILY OF JOSH DINGLER:

     

    IN AN EFFORT TO SHOW OUR RESPECT AND LOVE FOR THE FAMILY OF JOSH DINGLER, WE ARE TRYING TO ENCOURAGE AS MANY PAULDING COUNTIANS TO COME OUT AND LINE THE ROUTE THAT THE FUNERAL PROCESSION WILL BE TAKING WHEN JOSH DINGLER'S BODY LEAVES THE PICKETT'S MILL BAPTIST CHURCH TO TAKE HIM TO HIS FINAL RESTING PLACE AT MELROSE HILL MEMORY GARDEN ON HIGHWAY 61 SOUTH. JOSH'S FUNERAL WILL BE AT 2:00PM AT PICKETT'S MILL BAPTIST CHURCH.

     

    I am including a route that the procession will take after Josh's body leaves

    Pickett's Mill Baptist Church to take Josh to his final resting place at

    Melrose Hill Memory Garden on Hwy. 61 South. If you cannot be on the route of

    the procession, I ask that you continue to pray for this family, and remember

    the sacrifice that Josh has made for our freedom. If you have an American Flag,

    please bring it with you.

     

    PROCESSION Information:

     

    Leaving Pickett's Mill Baptist Church the precession will travel toward Dallas

    on Hwy 92. They will then turn right onto Dallas Hwy, then right onto Hwy 278,

    left onto Hwy 61 South towards grave side at Melrose Hill Memory Garden.

    If you are having to bump your own items, isn't that a sign that people don't want what you are selling?

     

    If I were you, I think I would show a little more manners to showline and don't post private PMs.

    Do the bus drivers report things like this to the SO?

     

    I am curious as to why it is up to the parents to report drivers that break the law.

     

    A YELLOW XTERRA AND A CHAROCOAL CARAVAN -

     

    YOU ALMOST HIT MY CHILDREN GETTING OFF THE BUS TODAY!!! I HAVE YOUR TAG NUMBERS AND I WILL BE IN CONTACT WITH THE AUTHORITIES!!!! :angry2:

     

    My daughter and nephew were getting off the bus, and these two NITWITS went around the bus on the right hand side, WHERE THE DOOR IS!!! My kids were getting off the bus when they flew right on by, like they had better things to do than to stop and wait on MY KIDS SAFTEY!!!! :angry2:

     

    Rest assured, my camcorder will now be out in the mornings, and afternoons. I do have the tag numbers, and the bus driver wrote them down as well.

     

    I'm so angry right now I could beat the fire out of them. A MINIVAN went by, how many people do you know that own a minivan that DON'T HAVE KIDS??? :angry2:

    It would be much more tolerable for me to see a loss of life it was in combat - not the chicken sh*t way they are being killed.

     

    This has to stop! There shouldn't be young men and women dying for useless reasons!  :(  I enjoy my freedom, and appreciate the soldiers that protect that freedom--I just hate to see them fall.  :(
