  1. Do you attend church? I ask this because many have counselling sessions for couples.

My husband & I don't have medical insurance. Does anyone know somewhere I or both of us could go to get some help? I am looking for someone that operates on a sliding scale fee, or even a free clinic. I just need help & fast.

    Thanks.

  2. No, that is just accepting the fact that life is, sometimes, unpredictable and sheeze happens. That ain't being narrowminded.

Arcaidy: You grew up with your own family. Just because THEY are like that, doesn't mean that everyone that is working poor is like that. Again, you are being narrow-minded.

"Narrow-minded" is not accepting that you are the only cause for your position in life.

  3. Jesus H. Christ. When did you become this narrow-minded?

I know I am going to regret this, God help me, but what actions do you mean Arcaidy? Truly, I am just curious? I am just trying to understand where you are coming from?

Everyone in this world is responsible for their current position in life. If you work at Wal-Mart and you're not happy with it, it's your own fault. Nobody else’s. There are no excuses.

(This is a general statement, not directed at anyone)

You chose to stay at home with the kids

You chose to leave early from work instead of finishing up a project

You chose to screw off in school instead of learning

You chose to blame others instead of taking the responsibility to better yourself.

I have a well known secret that some people choose to ignore...

Companies want good workers and they're willing to pay good money for them!

People that work jobs that pay little and have no benefits do so because they choose to. They have no one to blame but themselves.

  4. Have you seen any of the bills that came out of the legislature this year? Google ALEC and how they supply already drafted business friendly legislation for our state and many others. But, God forbid the unions do it, then it turns evil.

I think the most interesting thing about this: is the fact that the information is union supplied (AFL/CIO).

According to this mornings AJC, Mass. is requiring health insurance, just like they require auto insurance. If this is the case, how are the people going to pay for it. If you cannot afford auto insurance, you just do not own a car. If you cannot afford health insurance, what is the alternative?

  5. Me either. I guess if you railed against anything remotely tied to the Republican Party and their talking points or anything else that has been shoved down our throats in the past 6 years, you must be a Democrap.

    I'm not a democrat :p

    Me either! :p

  6. Do you actually know anything about the working poor in this country? What are they suppose to do in your scenario? If they have no education, no skills to speak of, where are they suppose to work? The teenagers have cornered the market in fast food. The immigrants in construction and landscaping.

Shouldn't we take care of the people that can't take care of themselves?

Your logic leaves my head spinning. pubby

Was it from the speed of it going over your head so fast??

Actually, you are confirming my logic. If Wal-Mart or one of the other “evil” companies does not pay for health care, you assume the Government should. Once again forcing us the tax payer to pay for the care. For Lesly, and all the other Democraps to have their way, we the consumers would have to pay more for our goods because they want Wal-Mart to fork out the money for health care. So instead of having the individual step up to the plate and take care of themselves and if applicable their family, you believe the more productive citizens should be forced to pay for this healthcare in some form or the other. Whether it is in the form of a Government handout of making another person pay more for a loaf of bread matters not as long as someone else has to pull money out of their wallet to pay the bill.

Why not hold a person accountable for their actions for a change…

  7. Now, Soapmom, I have always respected your opinion but, as I posted to Linda, I don't like seeing accusations of this sort without some references or some sort and not just "so and so on a message board said this" type thing or "my uncle that is an ocologist said this."

There has been a rise in autism with the rise of immunizations. It may be just a coincidence or there may be a direct relationship with these statistics. However, even in medical science there is politics. No pharmaceutical company wants to face the backlash if any of these vaccines were proven to contribute to autism and they have a geat deal of lobbying money. Besides, it is just a small number of children -- until it is your child. I wanted to not interfer with God's design of my child, so it is a religious matter for me to refuse immunizations. And, she can later choose to be immunized for herself.

Excellent points. There is a huge amount of politics involved in this subject. Big time. Lobbying and finanacial donations from medical companies would blow most folks' minds. Not to mention kick-backs that individual doctor's receive as well.

There has no only been a rise of autism, but other problems like ADD and ADHD. There is some belief that these are all linked.

You also bring up a great point or an open door to another aspect of this - delayed vaccination. If I were going to immunize this is what we would have chosen. We would have gone the route of delayed vaccination, and doing specific ones, not just all of them. People do not usually realize that they can take this route, or that they can pick/choose which shots to give or not give. Again, this is why I so strongly advocate people making true informed consent in this regards.

  8. None. Everyone I have ever dealt with has been great. The key is getting how locality wants the petition done. Some are very specific about the criteria and everything that you need/want has to be spelled out very specifically.

Has anyone ever petitioned for governemnt / county records using the Freedom of Information Act? If so, was it met with any resistance or were the clerks happy to assist?
  9. Smartass!

Brandi: If you understand WHY the neighbors complain, why doesn't your husband DO something about the cars and the work he does on the side? You stated that this wasn't the first time that someone has complained. If you already know this and know your husband's ways, why move into a subdivision in the first place?

Just how neat is a pin? :ninja:
  10. We need pictures, people!

Isn't that the house that was the model home so it not only had a drive way but it had two extra spots to park and then after all of that, they made their own driveway off the main road making for a few more parking spots??? So this house has like 7 parking spots for cars??? I used to live in this subdivision two years ago and that house is AWFUL with the junk laying around.
  11. No, they prolly weren't breastfed at all hence the source of their anger. :o

They were probably all breastfed until the age of 9 that's where all the anger comes from.

I bet if they were homeschooled none of this would have ever happened. Darn public schools!

  12. Every woman should take a multivitamin and calcuim pills! Your pee is affected by just about everything you eat.

I have been taking GNC's Women's Ultra Mega ..the pill is green ...it seems that this pill has discolored my pee...is that normal??

my mother seems to think that it cant be good for you if it affects the color of your pee

  13. You know what. It is not our fault that Mexico has a crappy economy and I don't doubt their work ethic. If a person wants to come here LEGALLY, I am all for it. If you want to come here illegally, don't be pissin' and moanin' about equal rights.

I do not agree with the immigration bill they are passing! I do agree with having the guest worker program. I am part Mexican and unless you have lived down there you don't know what it's like. It's a very poor country. They make in a week here what it takes them two or three months down there. Yeah there are criminals that slip through but what race of people don't have criminals. Mexicans bust teir a**es everyday they can work and hardly miss a day to support their families. They work very hard for the money they get. My father is legal, my grandfather is legal and a few other family members are legal but there are some of my family that are not legal but they go to work everyday and work hard.
  14. ....then, don't ask how much I paid for the matching garmet bag.....

Kohl's has some similar bags too for way less.  No offense to the ladies that have purchased these bags, but I cannot fathom spending $80 or more for a quilted hand bag...any bag for that matter.
