Ya Think? FDA Approval of Not-So-Safe Drugs?
The Sound Guy replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
You know, I never really noticed all the pharma ads on TV until it was mentioned on here. Now, it seems like every other commercial is for some drug or another. Holy Carp! Yea, I think drugs would be a lot cheaper if we removed the drug ads again. -
Didn't really sound like a robbery to me from the description. If he's begging to not be killed in front of his girlfriend and kids, rather than being worried *about* them, it sounds to me as if he knew why they were there.

SNOW FOR US? Major Winter Storm For The East Coast.........
The Sound Guy replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Looks like most of it is evaporating over in Al. Well, I typed that, then went outside and it's coming down pretty well when there is nothing showing on radar. Who knows? -
While we say no to airplanes, another GA county says yes to rockets

Wonder if the people are being asked to back 50+ million in bonds for upgrades that they will be on the hook for if it fails.. Plus this seems to be an investigative effort, not sneaking it up on the people in the middle of the night. Apples/Oranges. -
SNOW FOR US? Major Winter Storm For The East Coast.........
The Sound Guy replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'd be spending the night in the Bus station or a hotel close to it if it were me. Last year it was predicted to get a couple of inches overnight on Sunday night. I had a flight out at 8:30 am Monday morning, so I just drove down Sunday afternoon and stayed in a cheap hotel. Pavement was fine there and went straight into the airport. -
Yea, I really thought we should have opened up the dams during all the rains last month and told Alabama, "You wanted water, here ya go. Good luck with it. If you don't like when you get it, build your own lakes, leave ours alone."

Schools Will RELEASE 2 Hours EARLY Tomorrow
The Sound Guy replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Hey, if both Cobb and the Governor are calling it, I don't blame them. It counts as a full day of school, so no snow day makeup is required. From the way the forecasts are looking, those days may be needed later. -
The next stage of medical marijuana debate: Civil disobedience
The Sound Guy replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I know of at least one Paulding Family working hard for these laws. Their daughter's sometimes life threatening seizures would break any parent's heart. I don't quite understand the objection if it's low THC and you can't get high from it. Is it because it's difficult to determine the type of plant it is when it's growing? That I could understand, however, strict licensing of growers I would think would solve that. -
There was an interesting flyer in the water bill for this month about the RCR. Looks like we are going to have a small hike in the water fees to pay for our part of the construction. As well, it had a link to a website about the Reservoir that looks to have been there a while, but I wasn't aware of it. If you hadn't either, it's at http://www.rcrwater.com If the dates are still accurate, they are supposed to start construction in the middle of this year for the Dam, the river intake and the water treatment plant. Looking at the map, I didn't realize it will be so close to the

Good to know!! Thanks Pubby!

I've been hearing shots and big booms up here in the north all weekend. I suspect some of these "mystery booms" throughout the country are the exploding targets that are being sold. Google Tannerite video exploding pigs. Very powerful, esp if misused. Not sure how this stuff got through government approval. Academy sells it, so very possible it's in use around here.

Anyone experiencing slow Internet with Comcast?
The Sound Guy replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My uverse has been having really strange issues where some sites load fine, other are slow or abort. I figure its' because ATT is too cheap to purchase more pipes between the ATL area and the backbone networks. Seriously thinking about trying Comcast for a year since my "deal" with ATT ran out. -
Alan Rickman, famous for playing villans, dead at 69

"I'm gonna cut his heart out with a SPOON!!" "Why a spoon cousin?" "Because it's dull you twit, it will hurt more!" Loved his acting. -
I'll have to ask my wife about those, she grew up near Austell/Mableton. (about 1/2 from SCHS)

Anybody else get "The Martian" today?
The Sound Guy replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No, they did a pretty good job as long as you didn't read the book. While they stretch a few things, not near as unbelievable as Gravity. Not going to ruin it for you with details, but they screwed around with the commander's character, where the book emphasizes how she's a good commander and then she proves it, the movie has her emotions take over. Matt does a kick butt job as Watney. I was worried when I heard he was cast for him but he pulls him off in style. -
Looks like we could be seeing snow/ice storms here very soon!
The Sound Guy replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yea, they haven't quite figured out it wasn't their fantabulous driving skills, it was that the states they were in spent 40% of their GNP on snowplows and salt!! -
Bought the Bluray and Digital copy as I'm out of town and wanted to download to my tablet.. Now at 73% (500mb of 716 mb) I think the rest of people in the hotel are not happy with me. Did I mention I loved this book and thought the movie was pretty good. (Though they really screwed up the ending, well, the books ending, everything on earth after he's picked up wasn't in the book)

It was at the junction of 293 and US41 in Kennesaw. Closed years back to become "Cowboys" It was my first job and an interesting and educational entry into the job world..

Was 2 years out of high school and working at Winn Dixie that night. Craziest thing I ever saw. Saw one old couple going up and down the aisles, the man throws something in the buggy, the wife complains "You don't even *Like* that" and he replies "But we might need it!" Friend took me home that night, I waited until the next day to get my car and THEN an idiot in a 4WD truck rear ends me. "Me go good in Snow with 4WD... surely that means I can stop!!" FIL was run off the road and ended up walking 8 miles home.

Have to admit, Bama earned that one all the way. Great game by both teams, congrats Bama!

Usually pull for the SEC myself, but Bama's arrogance after the SEC championship in 2014 has caused me to pull for Clemson, Bama needs a humbling....

They don't know. They grow so much that first summer away you can't tell them apart.

Can an insurance company do a surprise inspection
The Sound Guy replied to spongebob69's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I would expect them to announce themselves if you were home, (unless they *like* being shot at) but since they are responsible for the property, (and esp liability) I wouldn't be surprised to find out that smoke is right and the paperwork gives them that right somewhere for inspections. Read the fine print on your bank account agreement sometimes if you really want to freak out. -
Intruder Alert!!! Intruder Alert!!! A juvenile eagle dropped by today for a visit and Mama Eagle was NOT happy about it. She lets fly the distress call for Dad who came in, dropped off dinner, then ran the intruder off. There is a link to a HD video capture of the event on the Berry College Eagles Facebook page, it's about six minutes long.
