Looking like the storm having to pull air across Florida is putting a sever crimp in the moisture on the East side. Once that dry side rotates around to the coast we may find that rainfall totals are not as bad as it was feared. Hopefully that drops the wind speed as well. As long as the power and internet hold out there is the Saint Simon's Pier Web Cam The water is pretty high right now, but not flowing over the breakwater yet. High Tide was supposed to be at 2:00 PM, but I'm not seeing it drop much. Brunswick weather station showing 9 MPH winds gusting to 22 MPH and 3 inches o

If they appear to be trying to obscure the real reason for the amendment, (which is almost always) I almost always vote No anyway, but agree NJ that all these seem to be exceptionally tricky or attempts to backdoor personal vendettas. No to all.

Of course I would. Most of the conservatives on here don't walk lockstep with the GOP, in fact disagree with many of their current moves. (Unlike most Democratic voters who vote Party, Party and Party Line and think any Democrat walks on water even after the convictions.) I in fact blame the GOP leaders and their pandering of the edges of the party for the idiot we have running as the GOP candidate for President. They assumed the base would follow them blindly and guess what, it didn't. We only vote GOP because they are the best of all the evils on the ballot.

Because it's the law. If we ever lose the "innocent until proven guilty" the ship really will have sunk.

Kinda hard to believe isn't it. Republicans coming up with bad legislation. Who have thunk? LOL, NOT! Nowhere near the checks and balances that a good law would have. See pubby, we can agree.

There is hopefully a valve in your basement where the line comes in from the yard. However, I have owned a home where they didn't install one, so you might not. If you do have one, this is the test I'd do next to isolate it to the yard or the house. Note that your toilet can be leaking without it getting on the floor. I've had several issues in the last 10 years with toilets. One is where the float gets waterlogged and won't completely shut the valve. It may leak slowly enough to not make much noise. If this is the case, the water level in the tank will be right up at the top

The above implies that the state can demand whatever money they want for the schools they take over from the local school boards. It appears to me that it gives the state superintendent the power to force local school boards to raise school taxes to whatever he wants with no voter feedback at all. Doesn't sound like local control to me, sounds like a state money grab.

Yea, the election year paving cycle so you will vote for incumbents is in full swing.

Hey, it's cut way down on the sales calls I'm getting, so it's not *all* bad. Level 3's Network seems to be where it started. Interesting that loosing one internet backbone hurt us that much. So much for "Five Nines" reliability. "If carpenters built houses the way software programmers write programs, the first woodpecker to come along would wipe out entire subdivisions"

When we last talked with Goodwill, they will only take the ones from 2004 and later that have digital tuners. Paulding Recycling will recycle them for $10 each, or you can drive on to the transfer station and dump both of them for $10 total.

Bass Pro Shops to buy rival Cabela's in $5.5 billion deal
The Sound Guy replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Did they ever start the Bass Pro in Emerson? I always figured the delay was to see if this deal was going to go through. -
You tell the above to a cop and that screams "HE IS ON DRUGS AND UNPREDICTABLE" Have that person then draw something from his pocket that has an end that looks like a barrel and point it at a cop in what looks like a shooting stance when the copy has his gun on you and the cop has a split second to decide if it's a danger or not. If he guesses harmless and is wrong, the cop dies. It's an unfortunate accident caused by someone who it appears couldn't understand he looked like a threat. In an ideal world the sister could have told the cops he had the device and it was harmless wh

Dallas woman sues after washing machine explodes in her face
The Sound Guy replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Hmm.. Hadn't really thought about it, but there is a LOT of energy in any washing machine with a high speed spin cycle, which is most front loaders and some top loaders. Sounds like Samsung better jump on this if 21 of the machines have come apart explosively in only 6 years. -

WTF? The Falcons are on ESPN tomorrow ? My Direct does not get it
The Sound Guy replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Finally the Offensive coach is allowing Matty to be Matty instead of "That guy that throws the ball to Jones every time" Love it when they beat the Saints, love it more when they look pretty good doing it. Also loved the announcers jinxing someone else for a change. "Brees hasn't had an interception in 10 games.... oops nevermind...." -

Used to be that one of the local stations, not the majors, would carry the game for the local over the air watchers when it was a MNF game. It was always hard to figure out who would be carrying it. Not sure if they still do that, I can't find it anywhere. -

I'm kinda surprised that this leak had been going on so long and be so large yet no leak detection system reported it. I would have thought that leak detection would be mandatory on a major pipeline like that. -
I could not possibly care any less what any of those Hollywood idiots do. I cannot believe that entire publishing empires are built on covering this type of carp. The ship is sinking and we are all doomed.

Road work on New Macland (w cobb) what is it?
The Sound Guy replied to greg30127's topic in RECENT TOPICS
They are working on getting the right of way, it's supposed to be in the next couple of years. -
Actually, that's the most sensible explanation for using a cat and bag at public events that I've heard yet. After the long bathroom break incident during the debate making the news, I'd want to avoid that too.

After the 60s when TV coverage of campaigns became the norm, Roosevelt would never be elected. He campaigned in an era of print being king, not TV. As far as Ms Clinton: "Madam President, the North Koreans have launched missiles at us!! What are your orders? " *** THUD *** Oh yea, just what we would need in a crisis is a constitutional crisis on top of it. She needs to explain this NOW. And I'd say the same about *any* candidate that starts falling over and passing out only a few weeks out from voting starting.
