  1. I know I saw a post recently about GOOD tax preparers in the area but can't seem to find it.....can someone point me in the right direction. My taxes are a mess!!
  2. Another happy ending! This love bug, Jewel, was chipped and re-united with her owner this morning!
  3. Thanks CC! She's asleep in someone's lap and it's not mine.....
  4. Or maybe we don't deplete our military to begin with........and take care of our veterans all day, every day. Do you remember 9/11? If we don't declare war on ISIS, they have and will continue to attack America and the rest of the world as we know it. What's your solution?
  5. Did you put signs up in the area? Cute doggie!

    Dentures

After a recent surgery, my father's bottom dentures went missing while in the hospital. I need to help him get some new dentures as soon as possible. The place he used for years is no longer in business. Any references? I don't want to choose someone randomly. I don't trust just anyone in healthcare any longer. Thanks in advance!
  7. I have checked out the duplexes and none are available. That would be perfect!
  8. Thanks everyone. I've got some good leads. We will help them as much as possible but we only have one car right now ourselves. Right now, they live between Windy Hill and Cumberland and walk everywhere. Praying we can get them in a safe area. My main concern is there 12 year old daughter. She needs a better environment.
  9. I am trying to help the family I have spoken of to try to get out of their increasingly dangerous apartments. I am looking for something within walking distance to Hiram businesses as they do not have a car. I would love to find a basement or garage apartment but anything will do no more than $750 a month. That may be unrealistic but I'm trying to help them out. I have tried the apartments in Hiram but both apartments start at $880. Just let me know if you hear of anything in that area. Thanks!

I am looking for something within walking distance to Hiram businessss as they do not have a car. I would love to find a basement or garage apartment but anything will do no more than $750 a month. That may be unrealistic but I'm trying to help them out. I have tried the apartments in high room but both apartments start at $880. Just let me know if you hear of anything in that area. Thanks!
  11. Sizes are 13 year old.....12 in women's pants/jeans and shirts a M or L. Mom is 3X shirt and 26 pants. Mom just discovered she is diabetic and working on losing weight but that is her size for now. Thanks!
  12. I agree.....the area they live in now is deplorable. Their apartment complex was on the news not too long ago for a shooting. Their daughter is 13 years old and does not need to grow up in that area.
  13. I have not thought about Cartersville but that is a good suggestion. They have a lot of retail up and down 41. Thanks...
  14. I have been a member of Paulding.com for a long time. I don't post a lot but do enjoy reading everyone's perspectives and opinions and following the "news." I am passionate about education and hate to see anyone or anything hurt. I am a huge animal lover but I also love people and want to help everyone to live a better life. Last year we were reunited with my husband's nephew when he had a heart attack and open heart surgery at the age of 39, He is married and has a step daughter. We soon realized that they were living in poverty. I have never known anyone that was truly living in poverty. W
  15. I have not had time to read all of these posts but I will say hands down that ANYONE that makes decisions on behalf of public education needs to have had some type of experience in the classroom. Everyone of our legislators needs to travel around and spend time observing what goes on in our classrooms day in and day out. The Georgia School Board Superintendent most definitely needs to have had classroom experience! The problem with public education now is that we have people that don't know one thing about education making the decisions.....UGH!!!
  16. My daughter was pulled over several years ago by Hiram.....didn't mind the speeding ticket. I did mind the officer questioning her about her "nice" car, who paid for it, where she went to school, who paid for her school, etc. What??? I called the Captain and NEVER received a call back......made a visit and officer was reprimanded. Sure he was.....
  17. Last year, a twenty something year old man thought it would be a good idea to call in a bomb threat to New Manchester High School in Douglas County. We lost almost an entire day of instruction and he is now in prison.....I hope they catch this student and he is punished. The ramifications of such threats reach far and wide and disrupt the entire school.
  18. I believe ours with 2010 as well....after BOA got busted for rubberstamping foreclosures we received a whopping $3000 for our "trouble." I told them to keep their dirty money! We had been in our house for over twenty years! Yes, I am bitter!
  19. We were right in the middle of a loan modification with Countrywide Mortgage when BOA took over and they immediately foreclosed on us......we had lived in our home for twenty + years and raised our children there. We were devastated and had to start over.......I don't wish that on anyone! God Bless the Morrison's. They WILL overcome but the emotional hit is tremendous and it takes a long time to get there. I pray that whoever is responsible is held accountable.
  20. We went last year and intend to go back.....the festival itself was nothing special, however, we did enjoy the trip. Here's why......the orchards AND downtown Ellijay is a lovely little town with lots of shops, we ate at a small restaurant in the back of one of the shops and had some amazing homemade soup. They also have the Scarecrow Invasion. All of the local businesses create and decorate a scarecrow based on a certain theme. I loved looking at the creativity. The funeral home won the Scarecrow Invasion.....their display was adorable! We really enjoyed it but if we did it again we would sim
  21. As in dry needling? I have bursitis in my hip as well. Can it be cured? I thought it was alot like arthritis....once you get old you're stuck with it.
  22. Yes, it should.....it is not a coincidence that these people have been targeted. You have the right to free speech but you have gone too far if you steal or destroy someone's property. Sickening that adults can act this way. If everyone acted out because they don't get their way we would be in a state of chaos. I love Paulding County but enough is enough! Stop acting like children!!! It's no wonder children act the way they do. Okay, rant over.....I think. No matter the circumstances, both sides should be ashamed that we are being portrayed in a negative light in the news.......AGAIN!
