So if they had chosen not to have the treatment you would have liked that better? Do you really think they were not given the facts by those providing the care? I have seen a lot of this up close and they do get all of the info that they need. We just may not agree with the choices they make. My sister chose to have a feeding tube. She lived 3 days after that. Would I have made it? NO! It was hers to make though and not mine. Would you take that choice away from folks like her?

New Ag Commissioner, Gary Black, wants to remove

Thank you! I always think of you as someone with an abundance of common sense. I hate to see this kind of thing come up because the simple fact of the matter is that no matter what you do it will most likely offend someone. Mr. Black may find that there are a good number of folks who voted for him who do not believe in political correctness. He may endeavor to please a small group and tick off an even larger group. JMO I would have no objection to selling these paintings if they brought a huge amount of money into the state coffers during this economic troubling time. I would not lik -
New Ag Commissioner, Gary Black, wants to remove

So your choice would be to bury the history of farming in Georgia in favor of political correctness. I wonder how long it will be before some want to take the copies of the Constitution off the walls of government buildings? It addresses slaves and how much their votes could count. History wrong or right is still history and very important in my opinion. I have heard some say that this nation was built on the backs of slaves. These paintings seem to depict some of that. Not my opinion just an opinion I have read. Do we do away with our history because some are offended by it? Just aski -
I have my own opinion about this but wondered what others thought of removing these historic paintings from the lobby of the Agriculture Department in Atlanta. They have been there for half a century. Gary Black wants them put into storage. http://www.ajc.com/n...nts-789310.html

I understood fully what you were saying. My sister and my niece made those choices for THEMSELVES. Both chose treatment and both lost their battles this year. They knew what was involved and it did not matter what I would have chosen. Do you really think this counseling makes a difference unless it goes beyond just counseling? I don't! By the way they had plenty of info on it given them by the cancer center and their Doctors.

I am happy for Pubby and p.com. I don't see other sites the same way that you do. There are more than one I think. I think p.com is one of a kind and I wish Pubby continued sucess with it.

For those on Medicare - Perscription benefits may be changing

The congressional budget office has already admitted that it will cost more. The figures they were provided with were not accurate. Wonder why? This may help: http://blog.heritage.org/2010/03/19/obamacares-delusional-deficit-reduction-claims/ -
Go ahead and believe that if you want to. I don't!
-
Our coverage is already changing and our company referenced Obamacare as the reason. We have higher co-pays and our premiums have gone up. It is all part of the plan to go to the government option and no one will have a choice about it.
-
Oh, we have. Doesn't mean I don't care about those who haven't. The problem here is that we won't have the options we do now. The plan by those in power for the past 2 years is a government option which will lead to one type of coverage. The government's.
-
Unless of course the government /medicare decides not to pay for prostate cancer surgery on a 76 year old man because it is not cost effective (just an example). That is where all of this is leading.
-
Actually there is a doctor involved with hospice care too. He/she handles all prescriptions/medications and sees the patient if a visit is needed.
-
That is a lizard isn't it (bearded dragon) ? Would you really cut it's head off?
-
You are correct!!
-
You would be mistaken again on all counts. I will gladly leave this discussion to you.
-
The government will be in charge of this because they will fund it and they will decide who gives the counseling. Of course they will be involved in the decision. This kind of thing is why the Democrats lost in the last election. Thank goodness. I am glad to see the last of that group in Washington. Hey, it is political! What did you think it was?
-
You are talking to someone who has been by the side of friends and family who have had to make these choices. More than I care to count. They all knew what they were doing and they did not need the government to advise them. I think it is quite a stretch on your part to presume to know what someone else should have or not have. It is their decision and it should be between them and their doctor. Not up to you or me or the government. It is not up to you or anyone else to say that they don't know what they are doing either!
-
It is just your opinion that they need help. I think it should be up to them. I saw what someone with an agenda did to a friend of mine. She was a smart lady with a mind of her own but they tried to push her into going into hospice instead of getting treatment. On the other hand 2 of my family members opted for treatment that made no difference. They all knew the facts and it was their decision as it should have been.

I say good luck to Obama getting his unconstitutional plan funded under the new Congress. He won't need to veto it if they do what they should do. -
That would be your opinion of course. I think their opinion is what matters. Not yours and not the government's!
-
I don't know anyone who is not able to research that for themselves. If they can't do it they have family members who can. Doctors are supposed to be able to tell their patients what to expect. If they can't look it up themselves they sure can't trust folks who want to save money to give them anything other than a slanted version.
-
I think I am old enough to make my own decisions thank you very much. This is more government intervention when they should not be involved. Smacks of death panels to me. Some elderly folks can be persuaded very easily. Especially if they are sick.

I remember the "dusting". I thought it was more than that. We tried to drive to Alabama and had to turn around in Cedar Town.
