Guess what I "got" today at the Chamber Luncheon?

I beat you to it! I got mine first! -
Two thumbs up for Georgia's AG Sam Olens! :good:

It is a done deal! The kids relying on the Hope program for college are having to pay more too. There is more need than funds coming in from the lottery can cover. Money is in short supply in Georgia's budget as it is in most state budgets. Thank goodness there is a Hope program at all. I have made numerous posts and started topics on this for months. It is on the fast track now.

Bill to Require Booster Seats For 7-8 Year Old
NewsJunky replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I was never confused about this. I agree that we should all care. My question remains the same, when do we say enough? Do parents and adults get to make some of the decisions concerning their children or does the government get to step into every area? I think this is a question of size rather than age. Does a 4 foot 80 pound lady get to decide if she wants to sit in a booster seat or does the government get to say? My seats can be adjusted for height in my car. Should we ask for cars that change seat positions to accommodate small ladies? No I am not one. Does a child who is over siz -
It is being reported that the gunman yelled "God is Great" in Arabic as he opened fire. He is reported to be 21 years old and from Kosovo. Prayers for the families of those killed and wounded. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/03/02/shots-fired-bus-carrying-soldiers-germany/

I wonder how most parents feel about the bill to require booster seats for a 7-8 year old. I think safety seats are necessary and should be required for children too small to be in a seat belt but if they keep going will the child have to be 10 before he/she gets to climb out of one? When do we say enough? http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-politics-elections/bill-to-require-7-857645.html

Yes they did do some research on it and yes it was minimal cost. Lettuce would not cost $10 a head it would cost a few cents more per head. Yes I am willing to pay it. America should never have allowed the production of our own products to decline the way it has. I tried to find some shoes that were made in America. Very difficult!
-
Actually I think the studies show it would only take a few cents more in most cases. I would pay extra to put Americans back to work.

You wouldn't dare!!! Would you?

If this has been posted I missed it. A Cartersville Mom walked out of the Court in tears after she was found not guilty of battery and three counts of cruelty to children among other charges. I think there is a line that should not be crossed but a parent should not be afraid to discipline their child. It is their job to teach them right from wrong and sometimes the lesson is not easy on the child or the parent. Link: http://www.daily-tri...e=homefirstleft

Very Funny!!! I think it was nonpartisan and the constituents included the ill informed and the blind. I am just guessing though. -
This Civic Association elected a dog as President. Some did not know for weeks that they had voted for a pooch. They got the candidate they deserved I guess. http://www.washingto..._print/asection

I think that contest has already been decided. I am proud of Kim and applaud her willingness to stand for what she believes in. I stand by what I said before about why Paulette may choose to keep her comments to herself. I don't speak for her so can't say for sure.
-
Paulette may have decided to keep what she knows to herself. P.com can be rough on some folks. I have heard a lot of talk about this issue and I think Paulding has a good chance to get a new Legislator.

Looked like all three cars hit pretty hard. I am happy your SIL and the baby are OK.

Hubby and I came up on it shortly after it happened. looked like several folks were being attended to in a yard next to the street. There appeared to be 3 vehicles involved.

Tell me what label you think he should get in the world of music. He is amazing when singing the Blues. You are right, he can wear out a guitar. We introduced our extended family to his music and now we all follow him. Wish he would come to our area.

I like all of the folks you guys have named. Here is a link to one of my favoite performers today, Joe Bonamassa. I don't know what label to put on his music.

Highly recommend this.

Florida Judge rules Obama care Unconstitutional
NewsJunky replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
They never imagined a welfare system and would be appalled by it. That is why it would be unsustainable to try and take care of everyone the way you want to. America would collapse. It is not a living breathing document it is "THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". If you do away with the parts you are talking about it would not be the document that we stand behind for the protection of our freedoms. One of them is not to be robbed by the government in the name of the common good!
