An emergency would be no income and no food. The few times I've needed to apply, I've never had to wait longer than 2 weeks from turning in the app, getting 2nd appt and getting the food stamps. If you already have an EBT card, it goes a little faster cuz they just put the $$ right onto the card, but if they have to mail you a new card, it could take a week longer to get the $$

I've had to call them throughout the year. Keep trying. They will eventually answer the phones. I believe there are only like 2 people in there answering phones and with this being the first week of school, they are swamped. good luck!

It's really not bad. I used to do this when the girls were little and we were on WIC. We have never used a lot of milk so I would cash in my vouchers and have to freeze the milk in order to keep it. We had milk for months. LOL
