If you're driving and you've never driven there before, one word of caution. Pee and get gas in Macon because once you get on 16 to Savannah there is a whole lot of nothing. Pooler and Metter are about the only towns and they are so near to Savannah they won't help you in between. The only road worse that I've ever found is I-20 from Midland/Odessa to El Paso, TX. There ain't nothing out there either.

Go to Gayna's Pub on the north beach side for karaoke. Go to Stingray's for great fried grouper. The North Beach Grill near the lighthouse is AMAZING. Tell Big George hi while you're there. The Crab Shack is good. Avoid Uncle Bubba's on the way to the island. It's a tourist trap. Over priced, fried, worse than Captain D's food. Leopold's Ice Cream in Savannah, GO THERE. Tybee is meant for R&R and it can be fun. There's a reason they call it Mayberry LSD.
