  1. My own feeling is that the U.S. needs a "guilty BUT insane" ruling.

There's no doubt in my mind that this woman is/was mentally ill. Likewise, there is no question that she murdered her children. To me, the only difference in her sentencing and that of a serial killer should be life without parole vs. execution.

BTW, I have always felt that Yates' husband was partially responsible for her breakdown --- a person who would want to/need to have a large, demanding family with a spouse who was emotionally fragile has issues of his/her own, selfishness being right there at the top of the list. I really believe she might have never snapped if she hadn't felt the pressure to be uber-Mom. :angry2:

    I agree with that 100%.

  2. This is just so sad. If the woman is on her meds now and is "better" then you can bet she will think about what she has done and live a tortured life for the rest of her days.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the decision, but I am grateful that I am not one of the people chosen to be a part of making that decision.

  3. A new Panda Express opened on 41 in Acworth. Has anybody ever been to one and is it any good?

I like Panda Express and Chinese is not one of my favorites. There is a Panda Express going up between the Arby's and Steak and Shake in Hiram. Did you see that?

  4. I had a nice lunch of 2 fajitas at a mexican restaurant, and am not hungry. My son is having Stouffers creamed chipped beef right now and my oldest had a box of mac and cheese when she got home from band camp.

  5. I start my day anywhere from 6-7 am depending on whether or not I have time for a few extra ZZ's. However, I start waking up at around 2 am and wake at least once an hour every hour from 2 until I get up.

  6. Funny this came up.

Right now my middle child is almost in the middle of her 2 week Summer visitation with her father. She calls home more than once a day.

Personally, I don't sweat it, but that's just me. :) She will be back. I love her so much! Her being away from here is a good time to learn lessons and the love of home for both of us.

You know, time passes for us all; even the youngsters. IMHO, it is the day to day regularity that children value. ;)

  7. Nope, Nope Nope!

Being born in the late spring of 1971 to wanna be hippies (had they been old enough  ) was just right for me. :)

How much more perfect of a world could it be? Dallas City Limits, things were closed after 7 pm, on Wednesday, and Sunday's. We went to Marietta when we needed groceries. . Everyone (and I mean everyone) knew my name and who my parents and grandparents were when I went anywhere; Post Office, Dime Store, Ben Franklin......Anywhere. I had the look of all my family I guess. It seems I physically favor both my parents and all 4 of my grandparents.

So, for me no. It was all the right time and the right place. :) I mean, who doesn't love the 80's and revisit them on a day to day basis. :ninja:

  8. Good Morning all!! Hope everyone has a good day!!

I had bad dreams too!! :(

Creative One, I'll be sending happy thoughts your way!! ;)

    That is strange.

    Good Morning!

Lots to get done today, and right now I feel like a zombie. I slept hard! We're to leave tonight if all goes well for S. GA. We'll be back next Monday. :D

I had very vivid dreams. And the last one that I was having before I woke up was pretty disturbing.

That is even stranger than 2 of us. The last one I had was the most disturbing for me as well.

Have a safe trip we'll miss you.

ok. I did. I had a dream that I snapped someones' neck because they were attacking me, and then I dreamed that an ex boyfriend was stalking me to the point of attempted murder?!

    b.

OK, so that's 4 frecks with bad dreams. Whassup wid dat?

  9. Thank you for showing this to us!

All sex offenders are not the same. An 18 year old male who has a 14-17 year old girlfriend and the girl's dad decides to press charges, is not the same as a child molester IMHO. I have often wondered where are these "offenders" supposed to live? It has happened in my sister's neighborhood (TN). The man is married to the same girl that he got the "offense" for having relations with. They are both adults now and have a child and a home. However, some other neighbors (not my sister) have decided to all leave the pool when he shows up with his wife and child because he is a "sex offender".

Now I do believe there is a special torture that awaits child molesters, but clearly all "sex offenders" are not the same.

  10. No, I didn't vote. Here are my excuses: I left work at 5:40 pm, got home at 6:10 pm. I changed clothes, then went with my oldest and youngest to get my son's heart medicine at Publix. Straight from Publix I took my oldest to EPHS for band practice which did not start until 7 pm; but the Raider Brigade's motto is: If you're early, you're on time; If you're on time, you're late. I swear....who could make that up. So I dropped her off at about 6:40, which was "late" since she was shooting for an arrival time of 6:30 for her 7:00 practice. I vote at Roberts Elementary, and one might think that I could go get in line at 6:45 at Roberts to stand in line to vote, but no! My son was HUNGRY! So, I didn't vote. :(

    How are my excuses?
