1. This is 'Snowjam 82 all over again'. Gosh........how old am I?????????? My SIL drives a garbage truck and the HQ is near Merchants Walk on Roswell rd. He was working with another truck today when they were called back in because of the weather. SIL decided to go around 285 and his truck buddy decided to go up Atlanta rd. SIL made it back to the lot around 12:30 and started home at 1:00 (he's still not home) and his buddy is still stuck on Atlanta rd in the garbage truck. Dang the luck! Snowjam 2014, woohoo!!
 2. A man in a Hummer pulled my SIL up a frozen hill on Roswell rd.
 3.

Double heck........they deserve a months pay for today.
 4.

And all of this could have been avoided if school had been out or if they had dismissed earlier and not been worried about making up a snow day.
 5.

You are a good, good, good woman.
 6. I kept middleschooler home because he's sick. We sent the grandbabies because we are literally 2 minutes from school and knew if there was a problem we would have no issue getting there. Added to the fact that my daughter has eyeballs and a brain in her head, unlike some of the people who decided to make them stay too long and get stranded, she went to get them at 11:00. As a parent the decision to send my kid(s) to school is totally up to me. If we lived further from the school, I guarantee that the babies wouldn't have been there at all today. It's not worth the risk on any level. On a s
 7. If I was a 12 month employee, they could kiss my behind. How is this going to be any better tomorrow at 12 than it is right now? Idiots, the lot of them.
 8. I do hold the weather people accountable to a point, but anyone with a window to the outside in Paulding county at 10:30 this morning should have used their brain and started getting these kids home. And if the idiot notion to hold them was because they may have to make up a snow is beyond ridiculous. Let's put our kids in danger, leave them at school overnight, put teachers, bus drivers etc., directly in harms way just to not to have to make a few snow days? SERIOUSLY????????? Is it worth it???????????????????????????? NOT IN MY WORLD. I'm sorry, but teachers and bus drivers do enough eve
 9.

AMEN to everything you said. My SIL was helped by a man in a Hummer and without that help, he'd still be in Roswell. Great post!!!!!
 10.

Thank Heaven for people like your son and the guy on Roswell rd with a Hummer who pulled my SIL up a steep hill so hopefully he can get home from there.
 11.

They're trying to get buses and school kids home safely, maybe you should get out and direct traffic.
 12. The grandbabies went to school, middleschooler is sick with 2 ear infections and a sinus infection so he stayed home. I went to Target on 120 this morning with 4 year old grandson and it was doing NOTHING when we went in, but 30 minutes later was a totally different story. Not because of traffic, but because of frozen and snowy roads, it took me an hour and 55 minutes to get home to Old Cartersville rd. Luckily, he fell asleep because he tends to talk and talk and talk and talk when we're in the car and I'm not sure I would have made it having to deal with that too. I was stunned at how quickl

 15. Here's one. Ingredients 1 lb. ground beef 2 (10 oz) cans Ro-Tel mild diced tomatoes & green chilies (drained) 2 lbs. Kraft Velveeta How to make it Cook ground beef and drain well. Cut Velveeta into 1 inch chunks and put into sauce pan, over low heat. Stir in Ro-Tel, and cooked beef. Cook over low, stirring often, until cheese is melted. If mixture is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk. Serve with corn chips and enjoy.
 16.

I'm sure how I feel about it, I don't like it at all. But since there's no Ford truck in my future, it doesn't really matter.
 17.

Holy Cow....are you kidding me???? What a moron.
 18.

I have a gun permit and lots of guns, does that mean anyone is in danger when I go to school? I don't think so. I wonder how many parents would excluded from school grounds just because they had a carry permit? They may never have any volunteers again.
 19. I'm not taking a chance with my kid. I've had people say I'm raising a @ussy because I watch him. I've had people say, 'Just give him a cell phone'. A cell phone? REALLY?! Because all kidnappers and molesters let the kids call home for help before they hurt and/or kill them. Hit by a car and are in a ditch? Use your cell phone......oh wait, you can't because it's 30 feet from your body and you're knocked out cold. I don't hover, I watch from 5 houses away to make sure he gets on and off of the bus. He's usually the only one off at the stop in the afternoon and as soon as I see home get off
 20.

Thank you for clearing that up, I was concerned!!

Good for you Mom!! :)
