1. The only information that needed to be in that letter is as follows, 'We screwed up big time and are thankful that no one was injured in the fiasco that we helped to cause. In the future, we will strive to listen to the experts and use our own eyes and brains to do what is best for our children, teachers and bus drivers. We are grateful to all of the staff that was thrust into this avoidable situation and hope that they know how much we appreciate and value them. To the children who were stranded on buses or at school overnite, we apologize for not heeding warnings and getting you home safe an
 2. Sorry Cliff Cole, it's not that difficult to close a school when a winter storm is coming, especially when the biggest concern seems to not having to make up snow days.
 3.

Shoooot, I'm right there with you. If I was a teacher or a bus driver who put every child in the county before themselves by staying at school or driving a bus in these conditions and a parent, any parent smarted off to me, they might just tote an a$$ whoopin'. Complaining about your kid being safe at school while you're stuck at home, frozen in, makes you a complete idiot. You should have gotten your kid home yesterday like many, many other people did instead of leaving it up to a complete stranger and then whining about it the next day.
 4. Publix in New Hope is open but they're running super, super low on staples like milk, bread, eggs and cheese. In fact, she got the last regular gallon of Mayfield milk. She said they had some organic, green and soy milk.
 5.

UUUMMM, I think that would be you.
 6.

No kiddin'. How many people do you think DHK helped out yesterday? How many kids he got home? How many accidents did he work? If not the government, then it falls to citizens of which DHK is supposed to be one. Was he pulling anyone up a hill or out of a ditch? I wonder if he was trying to be part of the solution or just wants to complain about the problem.
 7. YOU GO AL ROKER!!!!!! Tell 'em like it is!!!!!!
 8.

The Atlanta plan seems to be to wait too long to do anything. The roads could have been being salted early yesterday morning instead of waiting until it got too bad to do any good. This wait and see attitude doesn't seem to work too well. But being that most of don't own a salt truck of our own, we do have to rely on the evil government for some things, now don't we? Of course DHK was out salting his own way, not relying on the governments salt or manpower.
 9.

I agree. That's why we went to get our kids at 11:00 and didn't wait for the school to get the home. And if we didn't live 2 minutes from the school, they wouldn't have gone at all. People seem to forget that they can make that call themselves and not rely on anyone else to keep their own kids safe. And to the person in the other topic pi$$ed because buses aren't running, go get you're own kid, you should have PLANNED better to take care of your own.
 10.

I don't need to read anyone elses post, I read yours.
 11.

The National Guard, PCSD and GADOT have been and are getting kids and teachers home or to some place close that they know and that is safe.
 12. TP was the first thing Hubby put in the cart on Monday afternoon. 'Can't be snowed in without this', he said.
 13.

My SIL just went to Walgreens on Dallas/Acworth hwy and he said it didn't look good at all. I hope your daughter gets home safely.
 14.

You've got to be kidding me?
 15. What in the He!! does being stuck in traffic in the ice and snow in GA, where that normally NEVER happens, have to do with dependency on the government? The government had nothing to do with the 11 hours that my SIL and thousands of other people stuck who were trying to get home. And yes, people were worried about their kids, who wouldn't be? You're a real piece of work and I hope PUBBY ends up banning you from Pcom all together. For anyone to make this fiasco about the government is questionable at best and a real idiot at the worst.
 16. ..........10 1/2 hours from Merchants Walk. I'm so relieves that he is safe, I'm going to bed. I hope all the other travelers have the same outcome.
 17.

You're exactly right. The end.
 18. SIL still isn't home. He started at Merchants Walk on Roswell rd and is just now at the CC Police Station on 120. He's been up since 4am and if he can get to the end of East Paulding and 120, he's going my youngest daughters boyfriends house. This has been a crazy day. I hope EVERYONE makes it home safe and sound.
 19. And power linemen, I've got one out in this right now trying to restore power. KUDOS to anyone who has to be out in this mess helping others.
 20.

I agree, but I'd rather answer the call of the wolf than have anything like this ever happen again. They totally, totally dropped the ball. I'm glad we didn't wait and got our kids home safe and sound before 11:30.
 21.

WOW, I hope so too!!! I realize that being a bus driver can be hectic and thankless, but they didn't ever sign up for this kind of duty. You would hope the the higher ups would think a little further in advance, like 10:30 this morning, and it would have prevented all of the dangerous situations these drivers and kids were thrust into. Completely unacceptable!!
 22. Maybe that's where my SIL is, he's been coming from Merchants Walk since 1:00 today.

I barely got up that hill at 12:00 this afternoon. Luckily, when the light turned red I was the second car in line. It was a scary trip.
