  1. The point is, is that if you became ill yesterday, went to the ER and needed to get a prescription filled, you CANNOT plan for that. You don't think that that happens? So, it is in fact fortunate that there are places where you can get the meds you need. Do you really not get that?
  2. Me neither and if he was my neighbor, I think I'd have to move!!
  3. So I guess that you have always had two weeks notice when you are going to get sick......must be nice to have that heads up when no one else does. Which ones are open? Just curious.
  4. Weeeeell, he also claimed that he didn't know why he lost traction, so maybe he didn't know what burning rubber smelled like either. Once again......just.......WOW!!
  5. Our dogs are looking longingly at the doggy door, but won't go out it and there are absolutely NO doggy footprints in the snow. I'm afraid they may explode! I think I may have to make a path for them on the deck and down the stairs.
  6. WOW.....are you kidding?!?! He didn't know why his tires were spinning? I'm speechless.
  7. In all honesty, is a GAS STATION the best place to go when your car is on fire? REALLY!! 2 for 2 Gene.
  8. If I had to wait and leave on Thursday thats the only change I'd make, because it would take more than snow to keep me away from his graduation. Been there, done that, loved it. Congratulations to your son because Parris Island can be a scary place if you're not completely dedicated and congratulations to you for raising a son who wanted to be a Marine!! OOOOO RAH!!!
  9. You have no idea how much they appreciate that. A young girl gave Hubby a thermos of hot tomato soup the last round of snow we had and he said it was better than eating a steak. And it really helps morale, because while so many people understand and appreciate the work that is being done, there are some who act bad and scream and yell because they have no power. WTH!?!
  10. I think you're on to something......WOW.....PC would be rolling in cash if they did that!!!!
  11. I wonder what the 10 code is for 'no coat'??
  12. Yep, that's the way these men think, honestly. Most of them thrive during times like this and even though it's cold and dangerous, they love it. At least I know Hubby does. They could for sure! How funny is that?!?!
  13. See, this is what bothers me about the people who HAVE to be out in this mess. Some people don't have a choice and you have to deal with fools who have NO business being out in this weather.
  14. Well, I hope he/she did because he/she'd be running the place by him/herself tomorrow. There is no non-emergency job worth risking your life for in this kind of weather. Who's going to be going to the bank tomorrow? No one I'm thinking.
  15. YUP!!!! I'm already in a panic about 911 daughter coming home in the morning at 6am when she gets off and we only live 3 miles from the sheriffs office. I think her Hubby is going to get her in the Jeep and then I'll 2 people to worry about instead of just 1. Oh yea and my own Hubby out in it trying to keep and get the power back on. I think I'll start drinking now!!!
  16. ......he says that calls are coming in fast and out they go to work. I hate this for him and every power worker, but he knew the job was dangerous when he took it and he LOVES this kind of stuff. I just want them to be safe. Say a prayer if you believe in them.
  17. He does some unbelievable stuff, I think that he really is magic!!
  18. OMG!!! Did you really just ask that?!?!   Of course, I'm thinking NO WAY!! I'm in New Hope and it is snowing and sleeting like crazy. Hubby said that there is at least an inch accumulated at his HQ on Ponce De Leon Place near downtown.
  19. How about the storms in '83, '93 and 2000? Hubby had Super Bowl tickets in 2000 when it was in Atlanta, but was at work for a week before the game and didn't get to come home until after he had missed the entire thing. It totally sucked, those kind of opportunities sometimes come only once.
