Nope, us too. We're carving tonight and hopefully our pumpkins won't blow away between then and tomorrow. We were laughing yesterday that we had spent money on costumes and now everyone is going to have to wear a coat and no one is going to see them. Heck, they could have worn jeans at this point.

That is such crap!! These people have enough to worry about without photoshopped pictures circulating. In their frame of mind, some may believe it's real.

People like this who insist on staying in their homes and then call 911 demanding rescue, pi$$ me off to no end. Not only do they not take the warnings seriously and risk their own lives, but the lives of the first responders who are tasked with attempting rescue. Makes me crazy. If you want to stay, fine, but don't call for help when it's too late and expect someone to get your behind out of the sling you put it in. You don 't have fair warning in a fire or a wreck, but in a situation like this, they had plenty of time to remove themselves from harms way and choose not to.

All the kids at my house and the houses surrounding mine, who were also at my house, played outside the entire afternoon after they got home from school. Who could ever predict a tree limb falling at random? We had one fall a few months back on a hot, windless August day. I'm a paranoid nut and take more precautions than most, but a limb falling...........no one is at fault here, just a terrible accident.

We voted on Friday at the courthouse, there was a long line, but we were in and out in about 30 minutes. Very organized and well run.

Since they started talking about the severity of this storm, I thought that as usual, they were making mountains out of molehills and that it would not be nearly as bad as they had predicted. But it seems that it gained strength overnight and is headed exactly where they have said it was going to hit all along. Prayers to everyone in it's path. It's scary.

Hubby just got off work after 18 hrs, Ga Power still has lots of folks out, but he had to take a break. Lots of crews will work through the night to restore power.

Didn't the governor of NJ issue a 'state of emergency' because of this storm? People know it's coming, would a hurricane watch/warning cause a different reaction?

What a dumb guy. Does he not think that his actions will get around and then no one will allow him at their event? Besides being completely wrong to shaft the fund raisers you are supposed to give a commission to, did he have to leave a huge mess too? Who does this kind of thing? I'm not sure how they work or who pays for it, but they are opening up in retail establishments, so I wonder if parents have to pay?

The alternative school in Paulding had been closed for a few years. There is something called Ombudsman for kids who need an alternative learning environment.

I voted NO. If I want a better education for my child, it's up to ME to provide it, not any other tax payer. Charter schools have good ideas that include parent participation and less tolerance for bad behavior, but everyone that wants to go there may not be able to because of the application process. In my view, that is not a public school, but a private one using public funds taken from public schools that can ill afford any more cuts. I think another huge problem is that when someone is coming from 61 and they get into the turn lane to turn left on Ivey Gulledge, they will sometimes wave the person turning left onto Old Cartersville from IG, and that person fails to look or cannot see someone coming in the straight lane from their right and BAM! A light couldn't hurt.

I agree with you 100% and to all the a$$hats slamming you for it, let it go. I guess they'd be sitting on their hands waiting for permission from...........from............well, who I don't know, but you couldn't have kept me out of Paulding county even if I couldn't see him right away, I would have been HERE waiting on my hands. Silly me and my maternal instincts.

I hope for a happy ending for this poor kid and I hope his father isn't suddenly interested because there is money to be had. I know I'm too suspicious, but someone needs to protect this kid from evil adults.
