  1. Crazy as it sounds, there are ghosts at my house. They/it was especially active when our girls were teens and 5th grader was little. The girls were at at the homecoming dance at EPHS in 2001 or 2002, Hubby and I were at home with the baby and the sound of someone opening the basement door, closing the door and walking up the stairs and stopping at the top of the stairs at the basement/livingroom door. It was as clear and loud as the day is long. We looked at each other, waited a second and Hubby walked over and carefully opened the door....nothing was there. Too weird, Hubby even tells t
  2. He also didn't say that he would and most people aren't going to buy a vehicle that needs a $1000.00 repair.
  3. Us either, that is an underhanded and lowdown thing to do.
  4. Probably for a haunted house, we've seen them every night for the past week or so.
  5. I have no hope of her ever giving up her car. She is EXTREMELY strong willed and does exactly as she pleases regardless of the consequences to anyone including her own family. This behavior extends way beyond just driving, it includes abuse of Rx pain killers, rehab 3 times in 4 years and she needs to be there again, etc. It can be very trying.
  6. I'm a wreck already just thinking about 5th grader going to middle school next year. He is smart, witty, funny and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He wants to be friends with everybody and can't understand why a select few won't accept his friendship and are nasty to him and his friends. Breaks my heart, but to this point no real bullying had occurred. My oldest daughter was bullied in 7th grade and I finally told her how to handle it, she did and she never had a problem again. We also told her that if she got into trouble for her response at school, that she would absolutely not be
  7. Believe me, I've thought of the eye poking thing just on general principal.
  8. This is too sad to even read. I met Johny only once, but from his posts on Pcom. it is obvious what a kind and well loved men he is. Prayers sent to all involved.
  9. It's almost like Romney is trying NOT to get elected. First he doesn't care about 47% and then is stupid enough to say he's would cut funding to PBS? What in He!! is he thinking?
  10. My MIL should have quit driving 6-7 or more years ago. Her car is banged up, dented and skinned up from one end to the other. She even drove down the ENTIRE side of Hubbys car while backing out of her driveway, never even realized it and still hasn't apologized. Being that his 'car is old' she didn't think it was a big deal. She says 'oops' alot and isn't phased by the damage she causes. We have talked to her dr.'s and the DMV and have been told that there is nothing we can do, as long as she passes the eye test, shes good to go. So, until she plows through a bus stop full of school kids
  11. I think you found your gal. I love to iron, I use both sizing and starch and my very best reference is Hubby. I iron his shirts for work and practically everything I wear. I'll PM you my number, we're about 2 minutes from Publix in New Hope.
  12. On the link I posted, it says that he was convicted of child molestation. What that entails exactly, I don't know and don't need to know. 'Child molestation' is good enough for me to steer a W-I-D-E path around him.
  13. Yep, we went to the Natural History museum, Air and Space, and American History. We went to Arlington, Annapolis to the Naval Academy, Mt. Vernon, Washington Childrens Hospital......oh wait, that wasn't for sight seeing!! We lost one whole day to the hospital, our ordeal began at 10:30am in front of the American History museum and ended around 4:00pm after he was released and by that time, we just wanted to get into the jacuzzi and have a drink! Which we did!
  14. Yes, we got to go inside Mt. Vernon. As we were going up the stairs, the tour guide said, 'That is the very rail that Gen. Washington used, slide your hand up it and transfer some of his DNA to your hand'. That was too cool to think about. I also loved the key to the Bastille that LaFayette presented to to him that was hanging in the foyer. According to the guide, Mr. Washington hung it there himself and it has never been moved. I LOVE history.
  15. We tried not to, but there was insulation dust drifting onto our table. GAD!
  16. We were there for 7 days and we barely scratched the surface. I had to ride in a wheel chair because of my ganked up knee, but even so, it's a huge city and traffic isn't the best. But we ran into so many nice people (especially the kid I ran down when Hubby let go of my chair on a ramp he didn't see at the Smithsonian)that were so helpful with directions and kind words that it made it all the better. We did have a great time and almost one too many adventures! One way cool thing that happened was when we toured the White House, there was a long staircase that I couldn't get up, so a secr
  17. I do think I hear horns blowing in my neck of the woods!!!!
  18. Thats not a great area, but can you just knock down building at random because it's a blight on the community? Also, I ate at Janes once and the ceiling tiles were so disintegrated and falling down, even above our table, we never went back. It was icky!
