  1. We ID all of our trick or treaters!!!
  2. Baby Ruth, Butterfinger, Crunch bars and Nestle Milk Chocolate. Thanks Publix for the BOGO's!!!! Question of the day.........Why are tiny candy bars called 'fun size'? I think the big ones are much more fun!!!!!
  3. Well, I'm safe. 5th grader is a zombie hunter tonight!!
  4. We usually have really good reception, but 911 daughter moved to Breman and I swear.......when she calls from home, we get about every 8th word. I just say, 'Really, you're kidding, or that's cool man', a lot and it seems to work. But like you, it makes me nuts!!!
  5. Well, I'm in Johnston's Ridge and I have lots. I made enough for everybody, but no one wanted to eat, except for 'Little Spider Man'. Oh well, more for me!!! Just turn in and follow the smell!!
  6. Reporters aren't the ones working on the lines. Conditions were barely fit for them to begin work and with all the damage, I doubt that only a few, if any homes, were restored today.
  7. OMG, I just had my 1st trick or treater and was on the porch to give out the candy. He walked right past me and on into the house, he was about 2. I told him that there was only soup and cornbread in there and that I had the candy. His mother was mortified!!!
  8. I spend about $25.00 on candy and I've been lucky enough to get it at Publix 2 for 1, so we get a lot. But when it's gone, it's gone and the light goes out.
  9. 5th grader has 2 kids who don't live in neighborhoods coming with us tonight. I never thought about 'residency requirements', sounds selfish to me.
  10. That's one reason we got rid of our land line and now only use cell phones. We get weird calls once in a while, but if I don't know the number, I don't answer it. If they leave a message, I decide whether to call back or not.
  11. There's also a Best Western on the road that runs beside Kmart in Hiram, I have no personal experience with them, however.
  12. We are mired in drug use with my mother in law. 3 stints in rehab in 4 years and she needs another one. Just because a dr. writes a prescription, she thinks she can eat pain pills like smarties. We've been through hallucinations and erratic behavior more times than we can count. The last time before rehab , her psychosis was so severe from overuse, she became violent with me. It happened again over the summer and Hubby finally told her that we needed a break and to leave us alone. It's been the most peaceful time in our lives in the past 6 years. Even losing her family, she still doesn't
  13. Under the influence , maybe? Does 'PED' mean pedestrian? Would they have that many cars out for a 'pedestrian under the influence', if that's what it means?
  14. Daycare workers/owners are not tree specialists. Dead limbs or trees can look perfectly fine and intact on the outside and be rotted and hollow on the inside. This was an accident, if accidents could be predicted, there would never be another one of any kind. It's silly to believe that this was preventable.
  15. I have been fired just once. I had my performance review 2 days earlier and had been given a raving evaluation as to how good I was doing, how well I fit in and how much everyone liked me. I was also told that they were looking forward to a long relationship with me. Well, I wasn't married at the time, engaged to be married in 2 months, and told them that I was pregnant. I was called into the office about an hour after I told them and the bosses had a meeting and I was told that they would not have 'someone like me' working in their family environment and was asked to leave at that moment. I
  16. We've had the same thing happen too. I hate to be so cynical and skeptical, but when you know the 'facts' that they are reporting are absolutely NOT facts, it's very irritating because people who know no better, think they are getting the 'real' story. One reason I normally don't watch the news.
  17. I just pulled it up too, but, like you, I have no idea what they are referring to.
  18. I have heard at least 3 different reporters from Virginia to New York saying that power will be restored today and things will start getting back to normal. Where are they getting their info and when did they start working on power lines? The crews Ga Power sent from metro Atlanta couldn't even travel yesterday because of dangerous winds and aren't expected to arrive in Maryland until early this afternoon. When the higher ups at a utility company deem weather too dangerous to travel in, it's pretty darn bad. And then to have reporters saying that power will be back on today is irresponsib
  19. Yep, that was it, it was weird. It won't let me do anything, it keeps saying page denied.
  20. What is up on Old Cartersville rd? There are sheriffs cars all up and down the road and we had to pull over for an ambulance to pass. Whatever it is, it looks bad.
  21. Won't all of the water ruin computers and electronics that have been flooded? When we were in New York, the ticket dispensers, turn styles, ATM's etc., would all be underwater in the subway system.
  22. I didn't even think of that, I guess so many of them do have bigger fish to fry at the moment.
  23. Good for you! Your kids are lucky in more than just the material things!
  24. With so many millions without power and the fact that it could take more than 10 days to restore it all, what happens on election day if there is no power to the polling places? Will alternative ones be set up? Can it be postponed or is it in the Constitution as to how and when voting must be done?
