Another nail in the coffin for the 1 cent store.......
dawneykids replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I did. I got back a very generic response, I'll try to cut and paste. Hello Dawn, We truly appreciate you taking the time to write us. We are in the process of re-imagining every part of our business and are in the early stages of a four-year transformation. We know that can’t happen unless customers like you reach out and share with us not only what you love about jcp, but also what you’d like to see improved. As one of America’s first stores, we thought it was time we re-imagined every part of our business to make it easier and more exciting for you to shop -
Another nail in the coffin for the 1 cent store.......
dawneykids replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
What is up with that? I realize that new customers keep a business going, but old ones do too. And how short sighted is it to change so radically that you drive loyal, long time customers away for some hip new ones that won't ever shop at JCP anyway? I'm not sure they can recover and that's just sad, but it's their own fault. -
Another nail in the coffin for the 1 cent store.......

Well, if they can't turn around an internet order any faster then 17 days, then that part of their business will go by way of the dinosaur too. -
People applying for jobs kill me!
dawneykids replied to its mr sarcastic to you's topic in RECENT TOPICS
You can't be serious. If a person can't follow simple directions as to how apply for the job or the requirements needed, then they sure as heck don't deserve an interview. I actually question if some people really want to find a job or are they doing this on purpose just to say, 'Well, I tried and no one ever calls me back'. -
And your renters are also lucky with their landlords. I have heard of countless renters who have problems from septic tank overflow, leaking pipes, leaking roofs, broken appliances, etc and the landlords don't fix anything, continue to charge rent and threaten eviction if the renters fix it and take it out of the monthly payment. A landlord should charge a fair and market price for their property, but in my neighborhood, 2 houses have been purchased in the last year for less than $40,000.00. The owners put less than $12,000.00 into each house for fix-ups and they are trying to rent one of

Walgreens, CVS and Kroger have clinics that do them.

I got an email coupon for JCPenney and decided to make an order after not shopping there since the big shake up a while back. I ordered several dresses, tops and pants on March 8 and had it sent to the store because it was free shipping that way. I've been waiting on an email or phone call saying that my order was ready for pickup and after none came, I thought I'd just missed it and decided to call to make sure it was in. Nope, not in. Everything is in stock, but it won't be to the store until maybe Fri. 3/22, but most likely Mon. 3/25. 17 days for an order? SERIOUSLY? I order online all the

I don't have to justify my opinion to you or to anyone. You can charge $1,000,000.00 a month for a house with a payment of $0 and it won't be any skin off of my nose. But, yes it would still be greedy.
-
I ABSOLUTELY agree with you. If a house payment is below $600.00, it's plain greedy to charge $1200-$1400 a month for rent.
-
Also, be very, very wary of a 'too good to be true' deal. My daughter calls all the time about houses and twice it was scammers. She found an ad for a 4/2.5 in Bentwater with a fenced yard for $850.00 and she immediately said, 'This is wrong'. When she emailed for the correct price, she was told that it was correct, to send 3 months rent by DHL over night and they'd mail her they key. Yea, whatever.
-
And that is something I DO NOT understand. People lose their house because they can't pay a $750.00 mortgage payment, but then they turn around and have to pay $1000.00 for a rental. If you can't pay $750.00 how do you pay $1000.00? It seems like gouging to me, but what do I know?
-
Good luck! My daughter and SIL have been looking for a house that is affordable for months and for a 3br/2ba, the least expensive one they have found that is intact, has been $1050.00. Your friend may find a room for $600.00, the rental prices are ridiculous.

Y'all do realize that Animal is trying to yank everyones chain concerning this? Stirring the pot, whatever you want to call it, don't bite and maybe he'll stop.
-
NO WAY!? And to think that all this time I thought I was sooo cool!!!!!
-
You are a funny, funny man!! And no! I do think that there is a difference between the front load and top load HE washers, at least with the front load there's a lot of movement with the clothes going round and round. In my top load, when you opened the lid, the clothes had dry spots on them where water never touched them and several people have told me that the spin cycle can make the clothes look dry because they use so much less water. But I don't think so, dry is dry, it's never wet. I like putting wet clothes in the dryer that have been agitated in a full machine of water and soap. But t

I hate this for you and anyone living with this kind of worry everyday, I don't know how people cope. Keep us updated on your nephew and prayers sent for his and every other soldiers safe return. -
I'm not sure what model it was, but it was $559.00. The $639.00 I paid for the washer was almost $100.00 less that anywhere else I checked. But as you know, Speed Queen dealers are few and far between. Working at Georgia Power, Hubbys clothes get grimy simply because of the work he does. I didn't realize how unclean they looked much less how unclean they really were until after 1 washing in the new SQ yesterday. There are no spots or stains, they look like regular jeans, not work jeans. I'm a happy gal!!
-
No way!!! I'm so disappointed!!!!
-
No, we got the basic 412 model. For the difference in the money, I couldn't imagine I'd need it. Do you have a dryer too? We're going back Friday for the Speed Queen dryer, hopefully with the reliable workmanship and the great warranty, this could be the last set we'll have to buy.
-
No kiddin'. But I'm not sure that the fella at the furniture store knew what a cell phone was. There was no cash register, no computer and when he was trying to calculate the tax on the ancient calculator, he kept subtracting it instead of adding it. I had to tell him twice that the amount should be more than the base price and not less! But in the end I did save almost $200.00 so I guess I'm thankful they didn't take debit cards.

Do these places not realize the business they are losing? Who carries $1000.00 in cash to a store to buy something? And I like ghetto redneck blondes!!!!!!!
-
That is NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to anyone losing weight. My son in law has lost 40 lbs in the last 4 weeks. He wants to lose about 80 more. He's 6'5 and now at 335.

After a year of unhappiness with our NEW Maytag HE washer, Hubby INSISTED that I replace it with a Speed Queen that actual fills with water and agitates. It weighs 3 times what the other one did and when we got it all hooked up, the water started filling the tub just like a washer should. WHOOPIE!! He's sending me back for the matching dryer this week. And on a side note: There was a particular model I wanted and there is high demand and low inventory for these things apparently. There are very few dealers that carry them and I finally found one in Tallapoosa. I called, confirmed the pri

I hate to hear this, but you're right, this is NO beagle pup. I think y'all did a great thing by trying to take him in and love him, but since I have one just like him, I know that they can be a handful. I REAL BIG handful. If I remember correctly, the situation that you found him in was a little 'off', the story you were told about him seemed unlikely and he was very, very dirty. I hope you find Harley a good home soon and I'll vouch for the fact that they are great dogs. I'm sorry this didn't work out for you, but you tried and there a lot to be said for that.

I had no idea that you were dealing with anything like this and I'm sad reading this. What can I do? I'm ready, willing and able to clean, cook and do laundry, anything that will help you in any way. I don't off my services lightly and am only VERY SERIOUS when I do. SO PLEASE let me help if I can. Picking up groceries, meds, whatever. You've always done so much for the people on Pcom, we can surely step up and help you. I wish you the best and I sincerely hope to hear from you if you need anything.
