:good: I'm glad to see that it's not just me. You're not extreme at all, you're careful. I've been called everything from over protective to paranoid to crazy, but who cares? My two grown daughters have never been abducted or molested and 5th grader is on the same path and if I continue to play my cards right by doing my job as his parent, he'll arrive into adulthood unscathed as well. Yea, I've been told that mine are so dark because I'm full of it and by 'it' I mean........well you know!!!!!

A regular eye exam is different from an exam for contacts. Measurements are made of your eyes, it's much more than just the Rx for each eye. Also, depending on the contact and his eye color, brown, it may not change the color of his eyes. I wanted blue contacts and my eyes are so dark that I've been told more than once that there would be not point.

I think the behavior of the OP may have compounded the problem 10 fold. 2 weeks ago my SIL and daughter were stopped because the deputy said that they had no valid ins either. SIL had his current ins ID card, registration and drivers license on the ready. They deputy told them that the data base isn't always correct, let them go and my daughter checked when they got home, there was in fact NO PROBLEM. But if either of them had have acted like a fool toward the deputy, circumstances could have been very different.

No wonder they are experiencing the 'civil unrest' that I keep hearing about. WOW!

600??????? WOW, maybe they're just trimming the fat then. If you average the number of students per remaining schools, it's approximately 742 students per school. That doesn't sound unreasonable to me.

We went through there about 6:00pm on Friday and again on the way home about 10:00pm and the gas company and police were out in full force then. Hubby said it was probably a gas main break or leak. We went by again Saturday around 3:00pm and it was still going on. Odd that it is taking so long to fix the problem, and scary too.

Not all things are getting smaller. It seems to me that the portions in restaurants are getting bigger and bigger. There are no normal hamburgers at places such as Ruby Tuesdays or Long Horn anymore, they're all gigantic. It's ridiculous, but people seem to feel obliged to eat everything on their plate regardless of the portion. We bring food home almost every time we go out and have another meal for the price of one. And people actually wonder why America is obese.

How many schools are they going to have left if they close 61? That's a lot of schools. And how big is this city, with how many kids, to be able to close that many and have enough left to teach?
