Local men arrested in child porn ring

	Arrested in the multi-county law enforcement operation was William Noletto of Douglasville. A third person or persons believed to be residents of the county are being sought in the continuing investigation. We removed the picture of another individual whose only charge was possession of marijuana. (edit pubby)

i am danny harden,i have a 16 yr. old,he viewed other 16 yr. olds online not me! i was caught up in a media frenzy.but dont take my word for it,call the paulding co.sherriff dept. I WAS NOT CHARGED WITH ANY TYPE OF PORN!!!the det.were able to prove it was my son and i never was even charged.

Then are you saying that is not your mug shot???? Sure looks like a phota taken at time od arrest to me. Maybe you weren't charged with PORN, but you certainly were charged with something related, I would assume.

I think what he is saying is that he was arrested but was able to prove he did not do it.

The Sheriff's press release above clearly says that Hardin was charged with possession of marijuana. It does not say that he was charged with pornography. It just says that pornography was found, which could be consistent with Mr. Hardin's statement and explanation.

I'm going to come down on Danny Hardin's side in this.

 

His picture was distributed with the arrest and the notion would be to suggest that he was arrested for playing with the porn but the fact is, he as arrested for possession of marijuana and may not even be guilty of that as it could be his son's .

 

That kids get into things that they shouldn't and that adults don't supervise them as closely as they should are all truths but the overriding truth in this is that Mr. Hardin is innocent until proven guilty and ... since he was not charged with violating the child porn laws ... the fact that child porn was on his PC is was not sufficient at the original arrest.

 

That said, I'm sure that he's not happy with his face being bandied about in this context and it is not good for him or his son or whomever was responsible for visiting the child porn sites to have that on the home PC.

 

But LTD is absolutely correct and what I'm doing as soon as this post is made is putting it off the front.

I don't like pictures of people who are just "charged" with a crime having their picture posted everywhere. If the person is "wanted" for a crime then the picture helps those in search of that individual. Having a picture displayed of a person who was simply "charged" with a crime can ruin that person's reputation for years to come. Not every person that is charged is also found guilty. If you don't agree, let yourself be a victim of mistaken identify and charged with a crime of rape or whatever and have your picture plastered all over the internet and see if you change your opinion. In America, you are presumed innocent until found guilty. Having your picture plastered everywhere leads people to assume your guilty without even having a trial. IMHBAO

OMG! This story is so awful if true. I am in shock. I agree with you. It is crazy someones life could be ruined and we do not even know if it is true. I went to school in Cobb County and I remember a few years ago Cobb released and inmate inquiry site. Everyone was looking up every body. It was crazy people could look up your picture just for being in jail for one day for something you may or may not have done ten years ago in highschool. I know a lot of people were freaking out about it.

 

 

This is what is listed on the inmate site- but you can pull up there pictures and what they are charged with. It is crazy because they may not even be guilty.

I understand. I just do not think you should be able to go on a county website and search someones name and it pulls up information from ten years ago. Just seems like if you did something in highschool and it is dropped off your recored you should not be able to see it online ten years later. If it is dropped it should be dropped to me. I know a lot of my friends that are teachers were really freaking out about it. Thinking their students would start looking them up. You know for the typical minor consumption. But what do I know.

It is was an arrest it does not 'drop off', it is there for life. If the person is not convicted or they are convicted as a first offender they can have the record expunged and it does not show.

the key word you used was assume...ass-u-me.i was not charged with ANYTHING related to ANY kind of porn or anything related to porn.a small amt. of pot was found in my home,not in my pocket or my room,and what ever happened to inocent until proven guilty?this media fiasco has taken a toll on me and my family.please never assume someone is guilty.

Life is not fair and everyone, guilty or innocent or in some cases even innocent victims, who get caught up in the criminal justice system lose. The end result is most seek to avoid the criminal justice system as much as is humanly possible whether guilty or innocent.

 

I did talk with Dantheman and while I won't go into the details, I do feel one of his comments is worth while to note.

 

Unlike the TV news, which was closed to his input, he was able to come on here and state the obvious ... that the only thing he was charged with was simple possession of marijuana. Not knowing the nature of the search warrant I would say there is at least some likelihood that the marijuana arrest will be thrown out on a technicality as well.

 

The key point is that paulding.com empowered him to come and make his case, which at least made it more fair. Even your post, noting that the system of the way news is delivered can be unfair, shows that this approach can be more fair.

 

I also know that folks around here know that if he had no leg to stand on, his efforts to proclaim innocence would have been blown away by the negative posts.

 

We've seen similar issues with Steve and Nemie and we've even taken heat for being supportive of them because of that arrest.

 

My fondest outcome from all of this would be for folks to actually internalize the understanding that while the state can arrest folks and that is news, that we should all certainly entertain the notion that those who are arrested may indeed be innocent.
