Book Signing and Cooking Demo by local Chef

Join us on May 2nd and help support a rising star!

Join us for a wonderful cooking demo and tasting coupled with a great new book by a new local Powder Springs author, Chef Rian MacDonald! It is on May 2nd,so we want you to make sure you stop by and visit to meet our local Chef and introduce your tastebuds to some great cooking. His new cookbook, Taste Buds, was just released and available in our store. Grab a copy and come and meet him and get your book signed. Stop in between 1 and 4 pm and enjoy some great tips from Rian and taste some yummy food.

Taste Buds

A new Cook Book

Taste Buds, written by local Chef Rian MacDonald , leads you through the world of culinary arts as if you were in a private cooking class, learning terminology, techniques, and the use of ingredients easily found in your local grocery store. Chef Macdonald helps aspiring culinarians start with easy dishes, including the requisites of the recipes, like knife skills, and takes them right up to the classical French delights. Chef Macdonald insists the recipes presented in the book should be seen as guide lines upon which to "throw your own spin". The over arching message is to have fun with cooking while improving your palate, and sharing your cooking with friends and family.

A bargain price too!

Reserve your copy today

Chef Rian has his books a the Big Box stores for full price but is letting us sell them at a discount just to spread the word about his book and share his love of cooking. If you wish to reserve a book, just stop by the store and get your copy and bring it back to have it signed. Of course, if you can't make it on May 2nd but want to support get your copy signed, you can buy it and leave it and we will have it ready for you to pick back up after the signing.

do you happen to know the times?

The Marietta Festival is this weekend as mentioned and here's a link for the info/times per your request: http://www.mariettaga.gov/calendar/calendarview.aspx?id=811

Geez, had to pull the teeth out of Google to find the info, too. They're so anti-atlanta up there they refuse to list the event with most of the usual festival listings like accessatlanta, etc. Had a hard time even confirming it was going on. LOL

HERE is a list of other stuff going on through June, too.

My husband and son will both be camping with Scouts - one with Boy Scouts, and the other doing leader training.

I was thinking since it would just be and the littler one, we might try to go to the Tellus Museum for the Astrology Day.

I saw this on the Douglas County Sentinel web site

The Douglasville Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will host its annual Main Street Community Market Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on O’Neal Plaza in downtown Douglasville.

The event will include crafts and antiques vendors and booths for community organizations and businesses and a day’s worth of local entertainment.

The market will be an opportunity for local community organizations and vendors to sell memberships, art, antiques and home-crafted or retail items in a family fun public setting, organizers said.Last year, the event focused on arts and antiques vendors and did not include live entertainment or booths for booster clubs and other local organizations.

Local entertainers and artists are also slated to perform during the day.
