I have to travel it every day, twice, on my trek to and from Midtown. So, I noticed.

Wasn't this about Thompson/Prewitt? Obviously you've wandered into the wrong thread. I think the Paulette/Avery thread is over there somewhere: <------------------------------

I feel ill. Those poor kids. I'm glad someone found them. I just hope our hopeless system can find them what all children deserve--sober, loving parents, nutritious meals at appropriate times, and clean rooms to play in. Sadly, they are being absorbed into a system that offers them little more than where they came from.

Such craziness, and WOW just WOW...what means some will go to...it's just disgusting. But...am I the ONLY one who noticed that the PROFUSION of the irritating no Obama/no Thompson signs lining HWY 278 near Powder Springs had all been removed over the weekend? Really? No one else noticed that those signs have been removed? Is this a case of pot-meet-kettle, oh but your pot is blacker because your sign remover was caught and was an idiot? Oh, and I'm a conservative. NOT a Repub, but conservative. Really...no one else noticed?

Who, Amy? ABSOLUTELY!! Rarely will you see such a clear case of irresponsibility. And she SHOULD pay for what she has done! She sadly must learn now the hardest way possible what she SHOULD have been taught at home, and obviously WASN'T! Editing to add: I see what you were asking now--and perhaps it's just semantics? She was clearly RESPONSIBLE for the accident. Sorry if that was unclear to you. It really made perfect sense in context. -

I find this whole case heartrendingly sad. Do I think she is guilty and should face justice? ABSOLUTELY! She was at fault. She drove away. She tried to cover up her crime. Her mother, who I'm sure loves her dearly, was complicit. They are both wrong wrong wrong, and should face justice. ABSOLUTELY! And of course, because she ran, the question of whether she was under the influence of something or the other or not will forever be a point of conjecture. But should she face more time than someone who set out in the morning to kill five people, three of them small children? No, -
Haha! Yeah, II had a problem posting the image, so I just linked to the costume on Amazon. Funny story...my DIL asked me, "Do they really plug in??" To which I answered, "Well, my, that's a pretty personal question, isn't it?" She turned beet red. I loved it!

Mine and my husband's costumes: Ooops! Didn't work...here's the url: My link

Thank you, NJ. I've missed folks here, too. And I'm sure gog8tos and I would get along. In fact, I believe we have met before. I appreciate all of the responses in this thread. I started it out of curiosity about what others were thinking about the proposed amendments, and the responses have been educational.

Uhhmmm...your post at 3:22 pm above? "I too think that threads about LOCAL issues should stay here. " I assure you, ma'am or sir, that I am no "butt head," and I had no intention of "tick[ing] people off" by starting this thread. I asked an honest question, and hoped for honest answers. Do you distrust anyone who asks a question of a political nature, or have you singled me out for some odd reason? I have no beef with you or anyone, really. I just wanted people's thoughts on the amendments. Sorry if that offended your sensibilities in some way. Really. Uhm. Yeah.

Thanks, and of course I will go and look. I don't read here much anymore, and when I do, I usually just scan the first page or two. I am logged in to the PF, but usually, the personal attacks and name-calling turn me away before I can seriously read and consider any of the thoughtful responses. Those who engage in personal attacks might consider that--is it more important to share your viewpoint, or to discredit those who disagree with you? Because there are lots of folks, some who previously read and posted in the PF, who avoid it now because of all the nastiness. It's possible fo

Yes, you DO sound a bit snarky. But that's OK. I obviously have read the proposed amendments and have given my vote consideration. I think most others have, too. But a discussion of the issues involved, OUTSIDE of the PF (where you acknowledge many prefer not to tread, and with good reason), even just days before the vote, is much better than no discussion at all, wouldn't you agree?

NJ, I don't think that link works...I'm searching for the one I found that does. I posted the wrong one a minute ago...sorry, folks.

There is such a site! Give me a sec and I'll post it...but don't expect magic answers from it... Look here: GA Amendments Don't throw rocks because it isn't the GA State link...I found this on a search. It is accurate as far as contents of the amendments.

As a private contractor, I have no doubt whatsoever about how I will vote on amendment 1. Oh, and for the record, I am leaning towards a straight no on ALL 5 amendments.
-
I just wondered if there has been any discussion here about the 5 proposed constitutional amendments we'll all be casting votes over next Tuesday? I didn't do a search, but just a glimpse through the topic headings didn't seem to include a thread about the amendments. I'm posting this in the cafe because I think it's a discussion we could all benefit from, but my feelings won't be hurt if it gets moved to the PF. And forgive me if this has already been discussed. And point me to that thread, please. Thanks.

Nothing beats "Latrine." Yep. I used to work labor and delivery. And this woman was insistent about naming her daughter Latrine. Ack.

My name is Robin...so, while not a boy's name, it's a GENDER NEUTRAL name...and I like that. I liked it so much, I gave my daughter a gender-neutral name, too: Kerry. I tend to like names that don't automatically label a girl as "feminine." If your name is Jill, there's never any mystery when someone opens your resume. Robin? Kerry? You'd never know, until you met us. I like that.

Current radar makes it look like the nasties are all well North... Not to make light of the warning. It's nasty, for sure. But none of it seems to extend down this far? I hate tornadoes.

Oh, thank you, Sir feelip! Because I have never considered reading before! OH WOW...a whole new world is opened up to me! (What the hell are you talking about?)

Did you see someplace where I said I supported (or even LIKED) Deal? OR Barnes? Because I'm pretty sure I haven't said anything of the sort.
