  1. These highways are soooo busy, and at night - it's even more dangerous. I just hope the kids start using the crosswalks when they start working.
  2. My name is my screen name... and I just posted where I live. And I am female. Hence why I said I'm not a creepy stalker dude.
  3. Let me know if you change your mind one night you drop her off. I swear I'm not a stalker creepy dude - and you have my full name and where I live. In all seriousness, I'm all for keeping kids as safe as possible. Have you heard any news on the boy that was hit?
  4. Send me a picture and I'll keep my eye out, if ya want. I'm ALL about being sneaky. I see WAY too many kids crossing that street. I wanna become *that* woman and stop at the end of the driveway yelling at them, but I know they won't listen to me.
  5. bluecollar and I live across from stars and strike and see FLOCKS of kids crossing these streets. It's dangerous. They're putting in crosswalks at the intersections, but unless the kids use them, they'll be useless. It's gut wrenching. I hope this boy makes it. In the meantime, we've further explained how dangerous it is to cross the road to our own children. I can't imagine the pain his family is feeling right now.
  6. I avoid shoes with strings because of escalators. If anyone in my family is wearing shoelaces, I will not allow them to get on an escalator, we'll take the stairs. My foot got stuck in one in a California mall. If J hadn't hit the emergency stop button... :shudder:
  7. I don't blame you. I'm vain, but not vain enough to stick my mug up on a card to hand out to strangers. PPS - I'm sounding very abrasive today. It's not intentional.
  8. Send that to me for approval, mkay? PS - I saw some today that didn't have any touch up done. That's why.
  9. So that's what happens when a pea and a cantaloupe have a baby.
  10. I am pretty quick witted most of the time. I hold back 90% of the things that pop into my brain so I don't offend folks - but if someone steps on my toes... I know several choice words in sign. He would have gotten an eye full.
  11. I would have responded with "I am deaf", in sign language.
  12. Imma tiptoe riiiiiiiight on outta here.
  13. I applied (and was accepted) to GA Highlands, once upon a time, without taking any prereqs. I don't know if it's different now.
  14. They do, but with Georgia Highlands, you can get your RN, instead of your LPN. More money, better career field, better growth potential, etc.
  15. Georgia Highlands is in Dallas now (in the old Annex building). They're a nursing school. Might be something to check into.
  16. Definitely sounds like you have a blockage in your bile duct. Let us know what the doctor says!
  17. I had forgotten about the pancreatitis. My organs were a mess. I have never been happier to be rid of a body part.
  18. Ask for Zofran and YES, it very well could be! My enzymes were elevated for MONTHS and finally my liver started shutting down. That was the red flag for the doctor to finally order an ultrasound. If that's the case - get it out ASAP. You don't want to get as sick as I was. That was horrible. Sounds like a very accurate description of a gallbladder attack. What did you eat before the attack?
  19. Me too. I can't tell you how many times I heard "It's just pregnancy pains". I swear to Bo, if I heard it one more time - I would have made headline news. Seven months of dealing with it, they FINALLY did an ultrasound and ta-da! Since I was 39 weeks, they induced me because my liver was shutting down. Nana - I hope you feel better soon. That kind of pain is one you won't soon forget.
  20. Some innocent folks end up behind bars, too. It's an unfortunate thing, but it does happen. Believe me, I fully respect the job that LEO's do on a daily basis. I also understand that these people are human and even though they do their best every single shift, human error *does* happen. Given the choice, I think I'd rather take the 40 hours in jail vs. pepper spray and a taser. I caught a small whiff of pepper spray and
  21. I'm just gonna point out that 40 hours = less than 2 days.
  22. Ooooh. I want to do a ride along! Is this legal? Are there any jurisdictions that allow it?
  23. I'm having mine done next week and now I'm scared to death.
  24. For my family, it stinks. My husband leaves for work at 3pm. As it stands, he only gets to spend about 10 minutes with the kids each day. After this happens, he won't see them at all during the week.
