I went to the Mt Tabor memorial park at 8:40 just as I've done since it was built. The Mt Tabor park FB page said the service would be in the gym if there was bad weather. I along with several confused people stopped to offer prayers and respect at the memorial. There was no service there today, made me feel sad and disappointed.

New Roundabouts Proposed on Mt Tabor and Macland Rd
hitch replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm all for it, I see someone blow through the Mt Tabor - Bobo intersection about once a week. Perhaps this will help. -
My son and I did some work for Thad 10-12 years ago at his house. Wonderful gentleman and we (son and I) talked about that day many times. Discussing the beautiful homestead which became an island in the middle of scorched earth, and how sad we were for his plight.

I recall reading awhile ago, that if the booster club disbanded, that they would not be able to reorganize again, ever. Is that not true?

The missing kids and nixle reports has got to be some kind of joke or initiation. If this is being done for fun and excitement, there needs to be some punishment and restitution to the PC Sheriff's dept and the expense to the PC taxpayers. Seems like no one will pay attention to this when it is needed most.

Reports: Grand jury reaches decision on Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson
hitch replied to Mustluvdogs's topic in RECENT TOPICS
So, the police and Guard, laid back allowing the looting and burning to proceede. I expected them to line the streets. Now the taxpayers will likely be on the hook to pay for the rebuild of all that was destroyed. The government failed to serve and protect. I really feel they just intentionally sacrificed Ferguson to allow the crowd their violence. It all just seems crazy and illogical to me. -
Reports: Grand jury reaches decision on Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson

Questions, just for discussion. Should the Brown's Stepfather been arrested for the loud speaker chant of "Burn this xxxxx Down"? Crime of inciting a riot. Can Brown's stepfather be sued civilly by the business owners for the damage done to their businesses? Is there an insurance company anywhere that would give any business insurance in Ferguson? It is likely they will never rebuild. I would think that Paulding Co business owners would have sat just inside the door of their business with a 12 guage. Used it if necessary, to protect their livelyhood. Would that have been a crime -

I hope some people who were involved with the Athletic Boosters back then will step up and fill in the blanks. I had children involved in mostly Band but also some athletics from 05-09. Working as a Band Booster, I always call it the "John Mahal" when I inquired where the money came from. I was always told that a paren donated most of the funds from his construction company. I never recall the Boosters signing off on a mortgage for the "Mahal". I never heard anything about the Boosters being on the hook for a half Million. I never saw any extreme fundraising going on, which would have b

My father worked for the power company way back. People would call about this all the time. He would just thump the pole with a sledge hammer and the cat would either climb down or jump. Its not worth the potential injury of a non professional climber when the cat will just make its way down sooner or later. When they jump, they spread eagle and float down like a small parachute. leave it alone, it will be just fine.

My yard - a winter mud bath; don't think the grass will come back

Spring is not the best time to plant fescue. I'd guess that by the time Summer is over, you could hardly tell anything was planted, Spring Fescue just burns up in the heat. Unless you plan to water nearly everyday during the heat of the summer, it will not survive. I've been there, so you can buy a couple pallets of Bermuda sod for what the water will cost on your bill over a couple months. It is way to early for Bermuda seed, and the shelf versions are expensive. Bermuda seed takes pretty well, but after a couple years it gets thin and you will need to amend the soil and reseed. So, as -
the distracted driving laws were never enforced, so they enacted the no txting and cell phone laws. I see people driving distracted more now than ever before. I've seen "slower traffic keep right" signs for years, but never enforced. This law is unnecessary if current laws were enforced. I hope I'm wrong, but enforcement is the answer, no law on its own will change anything.

National Guard soldiers, airmen to be furloughed
hitch replied to xxrsellars's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I discussed this with my USAF son the other day. His group will not be affected, but there are lots of ramifications. The funding for the guard and reserves is forcing them to cut back quite a bit. Airmen are doing the job of higher ranked persons and picking up the slack from furloughed GS workers. Normal increases in rank are being delayed. One thing that may really affect the public is weather forecasting. The Air Guard units man all of the hurricane hunter operations. We have several weather satellites that are beyond their useful life and a couple have been down multiple times the -

Waste/Recycling Service Changes Pickup Day
hitch replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My recycling can fills up before the larger trash can these days. I'm happy I still have weekly pick up for both. -
I went with the t3i also for the above reasons. I've been extremely happy with the purchase.

I plan to kayak the Indian River between Canaveral and New Smyrna next month. When I download the NOAA charts for FL there is over 1100 charts. How do you know which one to d/l and open so you only use the one you need? Is there a place to look on the NOAA site that shows a better view of what the individual charts cover and their number? A quick lesson on Marine Navigator would be great! Thanks

I have a friend who claims his sauna of this type saved his life. He has suffered from Crones and years of steroid use and much joint damage. Five years ago he could barely walk, today he walks fine.
