  3. My Grandmother was a Mitchell and she grew up on the family farm over there. It is "Main".
  4. Take highway 278 west . After you pass goldmine lake rd you will see a sign on the right that says preserve. There are several places to pull off of the rd and park. Hike down the hill to the branch (small creek) and follow it until it flow into raccoon creek. Hike along raccoon creek until the creek goes into a tunnel. Hike to the top of that hill and you will be on the silver comet trail. Take a right (west) and it will take you to the coots lake trailhead. That is a full day hike and you could camp anywhere along there as it is all wma. I don't advise doing it during warm weather as t
  5. I have a problem with my tax money paying for it.
  6. I think people relate strongly to college teams because the teams are comprised mostly of the home grown stars of the local communities. Everyone knows of a brother's girlfriend's 1st cousin that plays for some college team.
  7. Which mindless bureaucrat made the decision to lower the number of polling places/machines? Will anyone be held accountable?
  8. I haven't been back there in years. Did the rock quarry get the falls? There used to be some cool granite out-croppings but I'm sure those are gravel somewhere by now.
  9. I doubt any of it is large enough to kayak except maybe from Hwy 61 northward.
  10. It starts up off of the East side of Mulberry Rock Rd not too far from the rock quarry and passes through part of Paulding Forest WMA then crosses Hwy120 west of Scoggins. Meanders through parts of the WMA again, goes under the silver comet trail, passes the western edge of Dallas, shoots under HWY 61 to HWy 41 and then curves and enters the Etowah just north of the Etowah Indian mounds.
  11. Has anyone confirmed that they are closed temporarily or permanently?
  12. Lean, greens and beans in any combination. Also look at Southbeach diet website.
  13. You should have to pass a simple citizenship test. Also some basic questions about the Constitution. None of the people in Leno's video should (except Grandpa) vote for anything! If you will not take the time to understand basic citizenship, why should you have the priveledge to cast a vote that effects this country?
  14. "Undocumentd armadillos have taken over. We're moving to Mexico."
  15. The lead paint is nothing compared to all of those people that have bought and remodeled asbestos shingled siding houses. No one ever abates those correctly. Half of the time they just chunk it in a truck and throw in landfill or put vinyl siding over the existing. Paulding has a lot of older houses with asbestos siding.
  16. Just guessing: Q-Why did Rodney H. call the police? A-Because he loves a man dressed in a uniform. Do I win something?
  17. I'm fluent in redneckese but I need a translator for this one.
  18. Poorly built houses are a result of the building boom (was) where the "builders" were not really builders but rather financiers. Most of them knew nothing of structural framing, flashings, proper fit and finish, mechanical etc. Instead they were experts at financing a project and getting it sold. Truly a shame for them to be labeled "builders".
  19. Time to make the oil floating around worth something. The government/ BP should pay a dollar a gallon for anyone that collects it. Shrimpers, fisherman, recreation boaters, entrepeneurs should be allowed to gather by whatever means, haul to a location and be paid a dollar a gallon. Do something to make it worth something and greed will slop it up
  20. You are right in regards to all of those scenarios. My tax dollars should be used to assist those who are truly in need. However, the reality is that most people are starting to use these social welfare programs as just a means to support their lifestyle. These parasites do not view this as a temporary crutch but rather a permanent way of life. That is what angers people like me. I guess it boils down to are you giving someone a fish or are you teaching them how to fish? When I was an a young apprentice, I remember my foreman telling me "...son, I can teach you how to build this build
  21. I would love to see how many of the "needy" that come for the free lunch have cell phones and 100 dollar shoes on
  22. I agree! Do something or sell something.
