Why couldn't Loughner have been opposed to Westboro Church, if he had to be opposed to an institution? Crazy never seems to attack crazy!

They thought he was strange? What made them think that???

Just -- names from the bible? Like Judas or Herod? How about Satan? And good old standards like "Ralph" "Stanley" "Dean" -- no good? There's nothing wrong with names from the bible, but if the pope will remember (assuming that he can remember), the ACTUAL names of the people referenced in the bible were DIFFERENT in their original forms. Jesus wasn't even Jesus. It was more like Yeshu. Who is going to name their kid, "Yeshu" (Shu, for short, I guess)? I'll be happy if people just start conforming to the rules of standard English and stop making up their own rules of spelling and pronun

There is no need to characterize the individual further - That's my takeaway from this. Everybody knows the context in which the incident ocurred and was documented. The thing speaks for itself. If one is unable to draw the proper conclusion from the documented reports, then it's best to just leave it there.

In the context of a weather related emergency, where police are needed to work accidents and REAL situations - some things you just let slide unless it adversely affects you.

People who flew in to Atlanta tonight and started home after it started to snow - That might be why people would be driving in the snow. People headed for Atlanta or through here - they're on the expressway and sometimes getting off the expressway is worse than staying on it! Lots of people work on Sundays and they didn't get off work until after it started to snow. It was coming down in some spots at 2 inches or more per hour!

Did someone shoot a longbow (the depiction was an arrow-target) at someone? There's a difference between an arrow target and the crosshairs of a rifle scope. Why are you pursuiing this? -

Why the hell are you asking me? I think independently and I have no idea why people say what they say. ????? I'm not saying that he was or wasn't! You seem to be venting against people with similar ideologies for behaviors by the other person. How fair is THAT??? -

TC - If I were to make a point about Palin's crosshairs being improper, it would be in the context of her being a possible candidate for the highest office in the land. It just doesn't show good judgment! We don't know what all influenced this guy, but NOBODY should be surprised if the lack of organization in his thought patterns is reflected in his sources of motivation. What he was motivated by could be things that contradict each other. The guys CRAZY - why do his motivations have to make sense??? -

It's small people. I wish that there was a really small font size -- oh, there it is, for talking about these small people. Did you see how ltd took it upon itself to impose shame? They must've had a bad week! -

Do you feel better about yourself now that you've ((((((shamed))))))) these unidentified people? He's a nutcase! You don't have any insight into whether the guy took certain right-wing nutjob ideas (like return to the gold standard) or not. As a crazy person, he may well have latched on to aspects of ideologies that contradict each other. To say that the guy was "influenced by mental illness and nothing more" is ridiculous. You do not know this to be the case, do you? Really??? If so, please explain how you know, so quickly, all of the influences that this person encountered and how he was dis -

A doctor at the hospital said that the bullet went straight through her brain, in one side and out the other. Expecting her to recover. There will be issues, probably, with either speech, memory or mobility. I'm sure the next 24 - 48 hrs will tell more Apparently the guy didn't use hollow-point bullets!. -

I don't know why people don't just read what you write. What's happening is that people don't even read or -- skim through, someone called it not too long ago - and then take you to task on what THEY SAID you said, not what you said. On a related note, did you see Oscar's Map Of Demographics? It charted the percentage of people with high school education, bachelor's degrees and advanced degrees. It's revealing. So it's probably a combination - people who can't read AND are looking for something AND have already decided what your position is on everything. -

Yes, ZC. Great analysis! The guy is crazy, no doubt. There's are many different kinds of crazy, but this guy's sociopathy puts him square in the loner-avenger category. He has issues with paranoia and probably mistrusts everyone. He likely has no friends and he spends his time in fantasy land, probably violent games. Rhetoric may have fed the guy, but his mental condition was the main contributor. Because he had no friends, certainly no close friends, no one could have seen this coming. It may be discovered as they search his dwelling, that he sketched out his fantasy or otherwise played it ou -

A good example of someone who would benefit from storage auctions is Subby, if the unit is filled with landscaping equipment, lawnmowers and tools -- that's a unit that would be right up Subby's alley! Typically hard goods(ladders,, tools) l are good to find, soft goods sofas, clothing, etc are not. Also one should not expect tv's, sound equipment, and other electronics to work - especially if they are not covered. You never know, it's true. I got a couple of really good units back in the day. A strong back, excellent helpers and a keen eye (don't forget the flashlight!) are key ingredien
