  1. What are your hours? If you are available when many other stylists are not, that would surely be a plus.
  2. Thanks! I knew I had seen it - just couldn't remember where.
  3. Yep, I see it. Maybe Smitty is at his workplace - I can never see images at my work.
  4. Whaaaat? Not the MiL? I'm thinking the 'Monkey Farts' soap would get a rise out of her ... before she realized how good it smells.
  5. *Great* advice! Here's another bit of advice for you, that might make your items more unique: use different kinds of yarns. Just about everyone uses the standard acrylics, so try using some wools and silks. They're pricier, but IMO, they serve their purpose better - I love my felted woolen bedsocks and mitts!
  6. How about 'Warm Fuzzies 4 You?' Your prices look a little low, BTW ... unless you've got a really great, inexpensive source for yarns, you're not going to realize much of a profit once you figure in your time. I wish you well - you've certainly picked the right time of year for this type of business!
  7. Like I said, if *she* wants it cut, great - I'm fer it. But if she's ambivalent, or gets to the salon and says 'no,' then I'd leave her be. If she cuts it again, and it has to be "repaired," all bets are off. I'm generally all for being the parent, but when you start messing with a child's appearance, you can really mess with his/her outlook. As for my blonde streak, my mother used to take pictures of me from the back so it would show - it was easily as broad as my hand, and ran right down the back of my head. Very cool.
  8. What a terrible, MOM-like thing to say! Seriously, one of the few things my mother did for which I've never forgiven her was to cut my hair when I was in third grade. I had really long, honey-brown hair, with a broad gold streak down the back (totally natural - it was weird), and it was the prettiest thing about me, no question. *She* got tired of dealing with my hair and got it chopped off above my shoulders. It looked terrible, and I think my mother even regretted it once it was done. Anyway, if Hellraiser wants to cut her hair, that's one thing. YOU wanting to do it
  9. What a great family portrait! I'm betting you get more requests for something like this - Lord knows my pride (and the token dog) would require it!
  10. Excuse? I don't need no steenkin' excuse to buy IGF soap: I buy it because I love it! I'm definitely interested in the Olive Blossom and the Black Raspberry Cream ....
  11. Coolio! I've been wanting to try their pizza - I may have to visit them quite soon!
  12. Ooh - sounds like fun! Is this general admission or reserved seating?
  13. Just don't forget to remove the button when your promotion is over.
  14. I hope you're not overwhelmed ... maybe you should have offered the free cuts to dwarves only.
  15. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your wonderful memories are Copper's gift to you now, as his life was a gift to you for several years. Bless you all!
  16. I'm so sorry for your loss, Lady Raider. May the Lord and His angels hold you all close and give you comfort and peace.
  17. New scents?!? Arrrrrggghhh --- I'm going to have to buy a studio to store my IGF soap! Good to see you blogging again, SoapMom --- I look forward to more entries and updates.
  18. Maybe Chick-Fil-A posted an open call for bovine talent ... they'll be filming some new commercials for the bowl game in a few weeks ....
  19. Good luck with that one. A number of years ago, when Driver Services was still under DPS and by extension, the GSP, one of the higher-ups stated that they were looking at ways to make the road test more difficult. I nearly dropped my teeth at the idiocy of that statement, because one solution occurred to me right away: raise the passing score! Right now, you can make a 75 on the road test and still pass. A passing score should be AT LEAST 80. I'll be amazed if it ever happens. The PTB are too afraid of ticking people off. Your Friendly Neighborhood License Examiner
  20. I don't care if he fits through a window or not - out he goes. Make sure there's a nice, deep ditch there, too.
  21. If *everybody* would call in *every* time they see Miss Jessie in the road making a nuisance of herself, maybe the cops would finally do something about her, if for no other reason than to stop the calls. Her behavior is not in any way cute or charming --- she is a hazard whose actions need to be addressed before she is hurt by someone whose only mistake was being in the same place at the same time. On that day, there'd better be TWO 'prayers said' threads: one for Miss Jessie and one for the person who hit her. I know in which one I'll be posting.
  22. WRECKLESS driving = GOOD. RECKLESS driving = BAD. (Sorry, but that drives me crazy. )
