  1. Wow, I've had them now for the past 10 years. First, they hurt like hell and the pain makes you want/need to curl up or sometimes pace with high steps....but all-in-all, you want to stay concious even though passing out would make the pain irrelevant. In the past 10 years, I've had 12.... and the one I had 2 years ago (on my birthday) after going to the Cobb ER, found it was a double (one on each side!). Never had that before. I've spoken to quite a few medical friends of mine (MD's and urologists) to ask the basics...what, how, how to prevent, what to do when...etc... I should say, i
  2. Chastity belt with a rusty lock.......and sharp outward edges for anything that comes near....
  3. Late follow up... anyone traveling or recently traveled on Bankhead Highway heading east from Thornton? I was thinking of taking that rounte to work tomorrow (if I go)...
  4. ... and for a year!!! Whew.... should give her fingers a rest from, uh 'typing' so much...
  5. Looks GREAT!!!... I built one a few years ago... 5' x 3.5' and 2.5' deep.......bricks all around and a drain....and I use a large piece of expanded steel for the grating. Although a lot of work and a ton (and I mean a ton) of concrete, rebar and bricks.....nothing beats a huge fire on a cool night. I have the "Men's Meat on the BBQ" Annually by invitation only (but it gets crashed about 11pm by several ladies)...lol ....but the rest of the year....it's NEVER a bad time for a "Q"....
  6. Holy crap..... I saw both movies this weekend - Here's my short take on both: Unstoppable - I thought it was a nice movie lasting about 90 minutes. A lot of action after a short explanation and build up in the beginning. Not a lot of wasted time and it has a nice (predictable) storyline. Simple...action-packed and as I said, although simple and predictable...it was enjoyable to watch...There was one scene I thought was a waste of 6 seconds but luckily it played thru and moved on.... Skyline - Where to start...... DON'T GO!! That was easy... Let's say you take part of 'War of
  7. Had to wonder... I'm familiar with the FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) but had to remember the FAA has their own set of guidelines and the FAR to the FAA is the Federal Aviation Regulations...lol Still, after the paperwork is done...you might find it worthwhile for at least a few special times during the year (holidays, etc...) to fly to some local places...
  8. So when are you gonna go commercial. Post some prices for flights and ya might see a hellofa profit from having a plane!
  9. I decided to go see the movie today... I'm a pretty critical watcher of movies....so this one was one of two I juggled seeing (the other was Skyline - I figured it might be a remake of Independance Day). Long story short... I liked it. I'm big on continuity and details...and with some knowledge of trains and disaster response, I watched for several things. Without saying too much, it was fast paced...had several human elements and interactions that were presented but didn't linger and the action was fast and furious (even if you knew how it would end...) it didn't waste time with a
  10. Sorry Glen... don't know what a 'DD' is so I probably wouldn't be interested unless it meant 'double-date' and your wife/girlfriend has a friend.... But have a good night. I'll probably hold off for the movie until tomorrow. Somehow...sleeping (or maybe just resting sounds good), it's been a long day.
  11. I feel alittle bit stifled (sp)... I'm always working and I have so many things to do around the house...but I seldom take time for me...maybe that's why I haven't taken the time to take any trips... Oh well.....another Friday...anyone up for a movie or something tonight? I'm thinking about either 'UNSTOPPABLE' OR 'SKYLINE' (ALTHOUGH IT LOOKS LIKE AN INDEPENDANCE DAY REMAKE...) woops...caps were on.... Unstoppable - 4:40....5:25 Skyline - 5:45 I'll check back at about 4 to see if anyone's interested....otherwise... I'm off to the movies!!!
  12. It's on the road that has the PC Sheriffs HQ and the Mens and Juvenile detention center....
  13. I agree.... the orignal DTESS was great with Michaekl Remme.......... so many remade movies are worse than the original... admittedly, I waited for a while before seeing this one...and was extremely dissapointed... Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory.... the original was GREAT... the remake with Johnny Depp...sorry, not for kids, no real happy Oompa Loomas and what was that STUPID part when they were riding in the elevator (notice NOT the Wonkavator) and they saw some cows down below...not a comment meant for children!!!) ...not worth the 5 minutes I actually watched it
  14. There is an excellent site for children to learn multiplication (and the younger the better)... http://www.bigbrainz.com/ There's a part for school teachers for their kids and another part that's also a free download and starts from 1X to 12X tables...it's computer interactive so the kids like it.... and they lern how to think faster and solve quicker... My daughter just got on Wizard101 this past weekend... fun, but not really an educational site...but it does keep them busy....
  15. I finally made it there last weekend with my daughter... Gotta say, for a place that's been around for a few years (probably longer)...it really had enough for the kids to do and they all had a great time playing there.... Thank you for whomever posted the location of this place... Admittedly, being across from the juvenile detention center wasn't the most appropriate location, but... oh well... great playground for the kids....
  16. I remember a movie I saw in 1970 - "Colossus:The Forbin Project" incredible for it's time and had a great sotry... as Sci-Fi goes....it was before it's time when actors actually acted and the special effects was a gaffer who used a plastic popping bag or a starter pistol or whatever they could find for sound effects (not that they don't do that today...but...now a lot more electronics....)...this movie was incredible about the US Computer (Colossus) created by Dr. Forbin and finding out that Russia had built a supercomputer of their own (Guardian) and the two communicated and than took over
  17. FYI - about 6 months ago I was actually home on a Thursday only because my daughter was sick and I took the day off to stay home with her... I was in my room and there was a knock at the door at about 1pm.. I thought what??? No one knew I was home... I got up and before even reaching my bedroom door the knock became a pounding. I was a little pissed and told my daughter (who was walking back to me) to get in my room and stay there). I walked down the hallway and this time they Banged with much more force.I stopped and looked down the stairs and than came back into the front bedroom to l
  18. Friday night without my daughter... so I'm trying to figure what I'd like to do...or who to do it with... Anyone seeing the new 'Facebook' movie or going to GBC holloween fair......what else is going on in Paulding County... Of course, I'd love to go to the Braves game, but..tickets are ridiculous and the crowd will be incredible. I suppose I could go to a sports bar and watch the game... Bueller, Bueller, anyone, anyone...
  19. ...must admit, I went there with my daughter last week (Friday). Incredible... I was impresed with the kindness the staff, owner (Mike), his wife and the chef all showed us that night. If you're not really sure of what you want, I highly recommend the spaghetti with 3 huge meatballs. Incredible flavor and a decent portion.... or the Lasagne (which has plenty of meat and flavor as well). My daughter had the Cheese Stix and some manicotti....she actually ate about 90% of her food and finished it off the next day!!! All in all, excellent restaurant and I wishthem great success!! Now they
  20. Bumble Bee Bakery is grest. I been getting my daughter's Birthday cake there every year in December since they've been open. They'll make it with a Cool Whip topping and decorate it with the bear, bunny, bee, ladybug and butterfly, as she likes it... great price...great flavor and always very friendly! ...and NO, I'm not being compensated for the above comment, but hey, I'll be in there ordering this December so
  21. Yep, filming the remake of Footloose. I went to the newly opened restaurant 'Olive Tree' Friday night for dinner (Excellent!!!) and they told me the filming was to be Saturday, Sunday and most of Monday but that they'd be back open by Monday night. I wonder if the rain has held up production or maybe they're using the inside of the dance studio there for some scenes....
  22. After picking her up from Alabama...on the way home I asked her if any of the kids in her class ever mentioned Santa Claus... She replied, "oh yes...some of the kids said that Santa isn't real, but my friends and I just tell them that if they don't want to belive in Santa...that's their problem..". I need to give her more credit for handling these issues....at 7 she's still surprising me. I think I'll allow her to belive in the magic for as long as possible..... thanks everyone...
  23. Are you speaking about the one that's downtown hiram next to the City Hall that used to be...ummm, shoot.. I forgot...but right over the tracks? I'm looking forward to a nice italian restaurant...I believe it's the second location for the one on Thornton Road down by the I20 just past the McDonalds... What movie is being filmed?
