  1. OK I'm late to the party but my daughter and her husband made me lasagna, salad and garlic bread, mom and dad brought brownies. My birthday dinner was yummy!!
  2. Here ya go Johnny. This is really a classic!! Love it!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_o-adbq9h0
  3. Here's mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy0lTRoAF4I
  4. "I will follow the rules" is not a learning tool?? I don't think kindergartner's use multiplication tables.
  5. Desi, it is a very effective learning tool. I don't think the teacher is out of line. In fact, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the results. But I'm old fashioned.
  6. Thanks!! Only if it's cheesecake or cannolis . Yum!!!
  7. I've seen some pretty bad ones in Chicago, but I don't think they compare to what you have described.
  8. I had a girlfriend that lived right across the street from the High School, about 20 of us would pile up in her living room to watch this during lunch. I believe Erica was in love with Chuck(?) and married someone else, it was her first marriage. LOL This soap opera has been on a long time!!
  9. How about you make the garlic bread and salad, with Italian dressing of course, and we'll have a picnic. :-)
  10. My ex-mother in law was actually born in Italy, her mother never learned to speak much English. She taught me how to make lasagna, their way. Just like Chicago, New York and Paulding County Georgia, everyone's recipies are a little different. Mine takes all day if I do it exactly the way she taught me, those tiny meat balls take a long time to make. They are smaller than a marble but really make a difference in the taste to me. I use 4 different cheeses and the sauce has to cook several hours then rest several hours before I put it together. I'd like to try yours Solo, it sound
  11. When I saw this thread I immediately thought of you. Yummy!! Your lasagna is legendary around here. It's also raised a lot of funds for various community projects.
  12. You can dig them up now, let them dry out and plant them this fall. It won't hurt them to be out of the ground all summer.
  13. I have grown all of these but with most types of perennials their blooms are short lived. That's the nature of the flowers, especially fragrant ones. Hyacinth bloom early spring and by the second year they are not as pretty as the first (if you leave them in the ground). They deteriorate every year after that. Iris's do well but again, the blooms only last about a week (per plant). Garden phlox bloom later in the season and depending on the amount of rain we receive will determine the length of blooming time. Heliotrope bloom for quite a while but I don't think they will winter over here
  14. Critty sounds like you two have been through a lot, prayers and lots of hugs for both of you. Thanks for letting us know.
  15. That's so cool!! We had one of those courtships last year but it wasn't that close. I had to get my binoculars out to see it. Very nice SS!!
  16. Does it have a worm?? I watched them make sombreros on "How it's made" earlier. :yahoo:
  17. No way, not yet!! Just getting it ready in my head. Easter is very late this year, surely we won't have any more cold weather after Good Friday. I'm thinking, depending on the forecast, that I might try to get them in the ground by April 16th. It's only a week before good Friday.
  18. I've done a lot of gardening in containers. If they get a lot of sun they might need to be watered a couple times a day - when it's really hot. I've grown tomatoes, peppers, bush beans, cucumbers and melons in containers. They are just as good as the ones from the garden. Sometimes they don't get as big but the taste is still there.
  19. Insurance companies can refuse to insure anyone they want. They are a private business and are not bound by any "law" to provide coverage to anyone. I think we need to look at the overall picture, it's not just the insurance companies, it's the pharmaceutical companies, the hospitals and doctors not to mention the trial lawyers that help drive up the cost of treatment. It's a whole series of blunders, none of which is being addressed by 0bamacare!! That's why this boondogle will drive up the cost of all medical procedures. Healthcare costs will not go down, instead of paying the hosp
  20. I know I've never met either one of you but I'm gonna guess she knew what she was doin'.
  21. Blondie you done good!! (i'm talking about the doggie).
