Have you ever been to High Shoals Falls to do an investigation??? Might be interesting.

My hubby was born and raised in Gadsden, small world.

Character development is a huge part of Scouting, not just for the kids but adults as well. It really is a great program. Thanks for the vote of confidence.

I'm 99, I would be 100 but it wouldn't let me put in that I was born in 1909. I think I look pretty good for my age.

My dad got one today for 20 cents. How stupid is that?? It cost more to mail it. What a waste of money.

For all of you that are entering the world of Scouting and to all you that truly understand I had to share this. from Patrick Dorinson at Fox News

Prayers for you and your daughter.

A Big Cutie!! Love the hat!!

Yep and I have used those CDs to secure my own loans. While you still pay interest on the loan, you are also earning interest on the CD. When you get done repaying the loan, your $ is still there. This is great for people that don't have credit, it's how I bought my first and second car. It can also help you reestablish your credit after a set back.

I agree on the zero interest loans. But what happens if you miss a payment or it's late, do they automatically refinance at higher rates?? Yep, interest bearing accounts aren't a good investment right now, but it sure beats paying interest, look at the savings of buying something out right.

I really don't know about these places, but be careful. Those places can charge some pretty high interest rates. I'm pretty sure there are good used cars out there, people aren't able to make the payments

So glad you got through this. I know it was tough, that hand washing ritual only works when everyone does it. Glad they are over it and back to being healthy.

Thanks, I addressed her snarky remark. (didn't really understand the need for it, but oh well) My car is mine, not owned by the business. It's a fact that everything should not be tied to the business. We do have company vehicles, mine is just not one of them.
-
My car is not connected to the business, I make my own car payment and insurance payment. We do have vehicles owned by the company but not mine. I'm glad you are able to save so much money, I know there are many out there that are wondering where their next meal is coming from.

 That is hysterical, from someone that has way too many plants to bring in this weekend.

Dave Ramsey is making a lot of money telling us what we didn't learn from our grandparents. Dang I wish I had paid more attention.

Good for you, when I pay off this car we will also be debt free except for the mortgage but we are sorely lacking in the savings dept. I think I'll take that car payment I've been making and just put it in the bank. Better I earn what little interest I can than pay the credit company 10 times that. I remember when my kids were little, I was recently divorced and they needed new beds. I put $20.00 a week away til I could afford to pay for them, it felt so good to walk in that store and pay for those beds. I need to get back to basics, it feels so good. We can all spend too much,

I know things are very tough for many of us, but out of curiosity...........do you or did you have a savings account?? We have just gotten so programed to go out and get what we want and pay for it later. What happened to saving for what we want and need instead of paying all that interest. I'm no Dave Ramsey or Clark Howard but we have been programed to just "go get it". I'm not talking about retirement savings or college funds, I talking good old fashioned saving for those things you want. Do we realize what the actual cost is when we factor in interest and other fees??
-
Just fo it the old fashioned way. Take a piece of paper and write down the pros and cons of each, the one with the most pros wins. Not that hard. Good luck, sounds like you are ready for a change.

Prayers for your granddaughter and your family.

We have done the opposite, we had to lay off someone with less experience to hire someone with more. It was a tough decision, our employees are like our family. I'm just hoping we can survive this without any more lay offs or time cuts. Times are tough and work is at a trickle, we're doing the best we can. Guess all that can help for the next 6-8 months is lots of prayers. BTW Subby, I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for.

Hope is was a good one JLH, Here's to many more.

See this is how things get out of whack. Companies are not low balling salary offers, they just aren't making as much money either. We have made some very tough changes in the last week as a matter of fact. Had to lay off a wonderful person and hire someone else that specializes where we need to produce. Everyone needs to realize it's tough for everyone now, employers included. Be thankful you have a job, there aren't many to be found out there. We're trying everything we know just to hang on til this eases up.
